I bought an Airthings Corentium Home Radon Detector 223 Portable, then I called Rick and explained…read moremy home's radon level based on the meter reading. He asked me to contact him again after five days to let him know the radon concentrations. Rick runs a single-member LLC, so I was initially concerned that if I have any issues after the radon mitigation system was installed, he might not return to fix them. However, I trusted my instincts especially given his excellent reviews and decided to go with him. I scheduled the installation for Tuesday (August 4, 2026), and he arrived at my home right on time at 8:00 a.m. He explained what he was going to do. I have a waterproofing drain system for my 1,200-square-foot basement, and he trenched into a 4-inch corrugated pipe to vent it out through a 160-foot line. It was an amazing and smart move and you can't top that kind of expertise for venting it completely. He really delivered a clean, finished job with solid workmanship throughout. He did everything the right way no shortcuts, no cutting corners, and no cheating. The work was completed properly and to a high standard. He even provided $500 worth of free labor by helping to caulk the 160-foot perimeter expansion joints along the retaining walls. After finishing the job, he took the time to thoroughly explain how the equipment works and walked me through all the safety details. Truly excellent service. It was such a rare and refreshing gift for my wife and me to have the chance to sit down with him for about 30 minutes, listen to his life story, and come away feeling inspired by everything he has been through and accomplished in his life. He is a wonderful man with a great heart and a true gift for what he does. The service he provided was incredible and it felt like a true blessing to our family. 100% recommended! You will not be disappointed.

I recently decided to tackle our radon levels and purchased a monitoring device. Initially, I found…read morethat the readings fluctuated between 2 pci/l and 4 pci/l, especially with the basement window open. After a heavy rain, I was alarmed to see the levels spike to 9 pci/l. Since we have a room converted into a remote office in the basement, resolving the radon issue became a priority. After doing some research, I discovered that Ric had a remarkable number of 5-star reviews compared to other companies, so I reached out to him and set up an appointment. Ric showed up right on time at 8:00 AM and got straight to work. The first thing he did was identify the best spot in our unfinished basement for drilling a hole. He chose a discreet location behind the laundry room door, ensuring it wouldn't be noticeable. Ric then carefully brought in several buckets of gravel and soil under the slab, installed a white PVC pipe, and extended it into the garage. From there, he routed the pipe up into the attic and out through a small hole drilled in the siding of the house. He worked diligently for six hours and did an impressive job. Ric made sure to clean up thoroughly after finishing, and he sealed the slab crack with specialized radon chalk. The next day, with the basement door and windows tightly shut, I was thrilled to see the radon levels drop to sub-zero. I monitored the readings for three weeks, and they remained consistently low. I can't believe Ric doesn't have even more 5-star reviews; he truly did an outstanding job!

Tommy from Atlantic Real Estate Services installed a radon mitigation system in my home. I was very…read morepleased with both the system and their professionalism. I would strongly recommend this company. I contacted several NRPP certified radon service providers, and Tommy's initial response stood out. He followed-up with both a phone call and an email, asking detailed questions about my home. He also said that he had installed a radon system in a house on my street, which told me he stood by his work. Tommy visited the house to provide a free estimate, and he found that we happened to have a "passive" radon mitigation system which the previous owners had apparently installed. Tommy took a day to think about the project, and he offered two estimates: one to convert the passive system to an "active" system, and another to install a new system altogether. I appreciated that Tommy carefully evaluated my house, to the point that he found the passive system and offered that cheaper conversion option in addition to the altogether new system. We ended up going with the new system to avoid any unexpected complications, and because we knew the new system was fairly priced. I needed the work to be done quickly and during a specific time period, which Tommy accommodated. Tommy and his crew (his father-in-law and brother-in-law) left the house the way they found it, and the radon ventilation gutter on the outside of the house is as aesthetically pleasing as possible. As far as post-testing, they left a monitor in the house for a couple of days, and then they sent me results which showed a significant reduction. In addition, I also own my own radon monitor (an Airthings), which had shown an eight-week average above 4.0 before the system was installed. Within days of the radon mitigation service being turned on, the average had gone down to just above 1.0. These guys were a pleasure to work with and talk to, they offered a fair price which I ran by other contractors, and they did good work which I independently verified with my own monitoring device. I fully endorse Atlantic Real Estate Services.

Recently, my sump pump has been leaking more radon and I tried to get in touch with them, but none of their phone numbers work. Now I'm worried about my warranty. Will update this review if I can get in touch with them, but I'm not holding my breath!

I was alerted to the possibility my home may have elevated radon levels by a friend in Leesburg,…read morewho recently discovered that his home had high radon. I ordered a $3 test kit from Virginia Department of Health and was shocked to find we had high readings of around 24 pCi/Lin the basement. The first action that's recommended when you get a high reading is to take a second reading, to confirm that it's not an anomaly. Luckily, my friend had an electronic radon meter (they're, like $200) which he let me borrow, and sure enough - 24 pCi/L in the basement, and 16 pCi/L upstairs. I decided I had seen enough, and wanted it remediated. I did a quick Google search and judging from the results, it just looked like "radon remediation" could be the kind of business it's easy to enter with no credentials or experience. A lot of the results just looked shady, or like fly-by-night businesses, so I asked my friend who he'd used, and he said JK Radon, and recommended them without hesitation. I called John the next day, we had a short, productive conversation, and he gave me a date and a quote over the phone. I was clear to me that he knew his stuff, knew his way around home construction and the obstacles he might encounter. He showed up at the appointed team, did a neat, thorough and workmanlike installation, and was pleasant, professional, and courteous. But most important of all - within 48 hours, our radon levels had plummeted by 98%, and to well within the recommended limit of 1 pCi/L. We ended up with a reading of 0.4 pCi/L upstairs, and 0.6 pCi/L in the basement. Overall, we are extremely satisfied, and wish we had called John earlier.

He keeps pushing it off because he's too busy. It's a one person company so you're out of luck if there's any issues with it. We had to call another company to replace the fan that he installed.
