JVA sent two serious professionals to do a "deep" cleaning of our house. Given the shape it was in, I would not have been at all surprised if they had both run off screaming into the street, waving their arms over their heads, at first sight of it. Instead, they just dug in and worked for four solid hours. By the time they were done, it looked better than it has in years. They made it shine, including in all the places that are hard to get to. I assume the two women who did this job are accustomed to cleaning houses. What I confronted them with was closer to a pig-pen. But they did the job to perfection, regardless. I have used JVA twice now, initially found on Thumbtack for a move out cleaning and now a (soon to be) biweekly cleaning of my home. I have had nothing but great experiences both times. Xiomara and Rosa came within the first hour of the time slot range and were out less than two hours later today. There were a few areas I told them they didn't need to clean today, including my kitchen but to my surprise, they left it sparkly clean! I have waited to write this review. I have had them clean my house monthly for almost a year and a half now. Victor is very accommodating and we communicate by text. He is very quick to respond. The ladies who come to clean my house are usually different but they are all polite, efficient, and do a thorough job. Just cleaning our stand up shower can be frustrating with the hard water stains on the glass. However they are quick and do a wonderful job. Their prices are also very reasonable. The cleaners were great. Awesome job from them but I originally asked the management when I got the quote that I wanted inside the cabinets in the kitchen clean. He quoted me and confirmed that would happen. When cleaners finished, I noticed inside of the kitchen cabinets were not cleaned. It was not their fault but the manager said that cabinets should have been emptied for them to clean. That was never communicated to me originally. Therefore I paid the full price and what I wanted to get done was not completely there. However the owner was nice enough to refund me a small amount for the miscommunication. I was really excited to use JVA. I did a lot of research and they were the cheapest rate that I could find and the owner was very responsive via Yelp messages. We booked for this past Friday and the owner told me 2 cleaners will arrive around 2-3pm. I waited until 3pm and then messaged the owner. He said they were held up at their last job and the new time is 4:15pm. He told me he would add an additional cleaner, so 3 for the price of 2. I said okay because I needed the house to be cleaned that day. They ended up not arriving until 5pm. The owner called me and said he would give a 20% discount. The cleaning took two hours as I had booked. I paid $80 instead of $100 and I tipped in cash on the $100 because the job seemed to be done well, which is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1 star. It wasn't until after the cleaners left that I noticed 3 things wrong: - The drain plug on one of our sinks was broken because it was removed from the sink when it should not have. My boyfriend had to run out to buy the items necessary to fix this. - Our dishwashing detergent was gone. - Our shower door was broken. Another item that my boyfriend had to fix. I told the owner about the first two items and did not discover the 3rd item until after I had notified him. I still paid the $80 that he requested but I did tell him that I would look elsewhere and that I would be posting this review so that others can learn from my experience. Meanwhile, I'm still on the search for cleaners that I can use routinely, knowing now that the cheapest rate isn't always the greatest. read more

I've tried several cleaning companies in the local area (even through Amazon Home Cleaning Services) and to be honest, I've found the one I'm sticking with! The Deep Clean was fabulous and reasonably priced. The Standard 2-Week Clean is fantastic as well and the price is also completely reasonable. They bring their own products and vacuum but, I'm sure they could use yours if you're so inclined. The deep clean started a bit later than the time I was initially given but, I was also a last minute before Thanksgiving customer. Two ladies came in and they scrubbed hard right away! Their vacuum gave out at the beginning of the cleaning but, they used ours and still powered through fabulously. They scrubbed the cabinets, stove, microwave, shower stall, etc. The house was so refreshingly clean, it was delightful. I gave each lady a tip for all their hard work, and I have to say - I was absolutely thrilled and impressed. It was about a 3.5 - 4 hour clean. When they came for the 2-Week clean, they started with two ladies and then two more ladies showed up to help them finish it along. This was about a 2 - 2.5 your clean and they wipe the moulding, dust the fans, wipe the light fixtures, they even cleaned the refrigerator this time! I'm telling you, they really do an amazing job and I will be using them from now on for my cleaning needs! read more

I am extremely picky when it comes to someone cleaning my house. I have had a lot of companies come and they do a great job at first and then it starts to slide. Not JVA House Cleaner - each time (and it's been several months) they come (and they come every 2 weeks) it looks like they are there for the first time. Everything sparkles, smells clean, they wipe everything down and it looks amazing. You could eat off the floors after they come. They fold over the toilet paper and fan tissues, the carpets look and smell clean. Everything is done with so much attention to detail. Victor is terrific to work with - he is responsive and they are all reliable. They really seem to care about what they do. It looks like they actually "detail" your house. I just had JVA clean my mothers house on Friday. I am giving one star because Victor did give me back half my money and was attentive and responsive. Please beware!! Make sure you do a thorough investigation before they leave. I paid for a deep clean, but did not receive that. I did not realize until after they left. They were only there for 31/2 hours. I thought in my head "man they are fast especially for a deep clean". After looking, I did not even get a general clean. The bathrooms: Bottom of the sink (cupboard) was not cleaned outside. Base of toilet, not cleaned. Behind the toilet led, not cleaned and behind the toilet on floor not cleaned. The kitchen: the refrigerator not cleaned at all even though it clearly needed it. Top of microwave not cleaned. Under the kitchen table floor not cleaned. The side floor of the refrigerator not cleaned. The corner of the floors and where anything was on the floor was not removed and cleaned. No cupboards on the outside were cleaned. Oven not cleaned. Outside or in. Drain board not cleaned. The only thing cleaned was inside the microwave. Polishing: None of the items removed and placed back were cleaned nor were they put back the way they found them. No ceiling fans were cleaned. No window sills were clean. Essentially what I paid for and tipped on was good vacuuming and some polishing. The stairs and the railings were done well. I felt it was the most disrespectful cleaning. I came all the way from NYC to be with my mom so she could feel comfortable on her first in house cleaning. This was a wasted trip. I took pixs and sent them to Victor and he was very apologetic. It was that bad. One of the ladies did not even stay in the house to say goodbye and therefore did not even thank me for her tip. She was in such a rush to leave. I booked them based off these reviews and now I feel I have to post so that others can decide for themselves. I am was so pissed and the more I found things the worst it made me feel. I will now have to go back to Maryland and try another company for my mom. JVA lost a potential once a month client for sure. This was a very disrespectful cleaning no matter if it was general or deep. I use to do this for a living and this was VERY unprofessional. I thought maybe it was because we did not hear them knocking for 15mins (even though there was a doorbell), but no.....it was just plain ole disrespectful. Use at your own risk. I hired JVA based on their Yelp reviews and have been using them for about six months now. The cleaning is always thorough and women work hard the entire time they are at my home. On their very first visit they accidentally broke an item, and apologized profusely. Their manager called me right away and said they would pay to have it fixed, or I could find someone to fix it and just send them the bill. I was skeptical at first, but after I sent him the bill he venmoed me the money within minutes. After that experience I knew this was the kind of company I could trust. My only complaint, which is minor, is that they are not always the most punctual. As long as you give them an hour or so of flexibility, you should be fine. read more

Wow. I'm a JVA House Cleaner Believer now!! We purchased a new home yesterday and, unfortunately, at the walk-through it was absolutely disgusting! The Sellers had left the place SO dirty! It's as if they didn't clean ANYTHING for the past 2 months. I read the reviews of JVA and decided to give 'em a try. I was NOT disappointed! The other reviews were spot-on. We had 2 very sweet ladies spend approximately 3 hours at the new house. It's a 3-Floor, 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom Townhouse in Centreville, VA. They scrubbed it from top-to-bottom! A total refresh of every single room. Afterwards the Refrigerator (which was so bad I almost considered just buying a new one!) was spic-n-span and gleaming. I was not in the house when they arrived or during most of their cleaning. But, when I did get there, the amazingly fresh, clean smell that hit me the minute I opened the front door was FANTASTIC!! It was like a whole new house from the one I'd walked through just yesterday!! When I went to check out the Master Bathroom -- SAME THING! There was a nice (and I mean that literally!!) bleach smell that hits you the minute you open the door! (I'm someone who really hates the whole germ-thing so for my bathroom to have a freshly-cleaned bleach-smell I'm all over it!) The sinks were gleaming, the fixtures didn't have 1 water spot on 'em, and I swear I could almost see my reflection in the porcelain of the toilet. The shower was *literally* squeaky clean. The tile, walls and floors were wiped clean and I felt like I could finally get truly excited about moving into my new home. Might sound dramatic, but, had you seen this place prior you'd understand. We are so impressed with the work these 2 ladies did that we will be hiring JVA again in about 3 weeks to do our "move-out" cleaning from our current rental.
