The food here was decent but that is about it. Emily our server was unnecessarily rude towards us. This all started because a customer had thrown up next to us but we had no idea. The workers then proceeded to make gaging noises right by us and made us so uncomfortable we could not continue eating. We then just made the comment to Emily about it and that we felt sick and just wanted a small portion taken off. We were then greeted by the most unprofessional manager I have ever met. He had an attitude and clearly did not see the issue. At the risk of losing my foodie cred, this place needs a little love. So, Jonathan's Grille is a sports bar. I went here with dudes. The many TV's showcased our options to attention-disorder swap discussions from the wide plethora of subjects as long as they involved balls, hoops, drafts, or finals. But it was a work outing and I was a good soldier and ordered a salad. In fact, I was torn between salad options. For a sports bar I swear half the front menu was salads - chopped salads, tossed salads, minimal dressing or swimming specialty salads. Surprising. Jonathan's also has sports bar service. Not bad, just young crew on the noon shift mildly overworked getting back to college later, probably. Pleasant, effecient, really a fine exchange of needs and needs - meeting. Then comes the salad. I can't speak for the greasy freezer - bag looking mozzarella bites chosen down the table from me, or for the good-looking french dips and decent - looking fries, but I chose the super foods kale salad. This salad is so stupid good I was sad how big the portion was that I couldn't adequately shovel all the tiny bits into my mouth before it would have been impolite to make the others wait. The dressing was beyond tactful - not a syrupy mess or a bland concoction. The candied pecans are not to be mistaken for your failed attempts of burned sugar caked nuts on the stovetop, they are coated in cinnamon - again, tactfully and deliciously. The cranberries are delightfully additive - neither tart nor sugary. I'm not kidding, I went immediately online to try to recreate this salad. I am proud of my cooking and know my veggies, but my attempt was poor at duplicating this yum fest. I don't even care if this all came from a bag produced way outside state borders, it tasted stupid awesome good. So: moral of the story. If you need an option to maintain food snobbery and play to a group of bar dudes, hit this place and check out the salads. Yes, salads. read more

But I have never been so disrespected in any establishment before! From the waitress saying "Can you just pay me" after so many times rushing us. Also saying "I have kids to go to" to asking for a manager, and a rude Candice Dyer came out very hostile and disrespectful stating "you been here an hour" telling me to call corporate if I wanted something done. I like french dip sandwiches, a lot, but, I won't order them just anywhere. When I saw that Jonathan's had steak on the menu I figured I would give it a shot. It a place does not serve steak or beef I won't trust their sandwich, who knows if they know how to cook it. Come one, we've all had that tough french dip sandwich. To my delight the meat was tender and the au jus tasty. I was happy as a clam. Besides having a decent french dip they have TVs. TVs that are independent of each other. Don't you hate the sports bar that you ask for a certain game on a TV and they say they can't change it because it's connected to the TV across the room where Steelers fans are getting rowdy. Yeah, pet peeve. Jonathan's didn't have that problem. I walked in, asked to watch the Yankee game and boom, it was put on. Jonathan's is next door to my hotel & therefore was my default choice for dinner. It's a "nicer" sports bar/restaurant with a large menu of burgers, wings & pizza. I was surprised at how packed it was for a Tuesday night after 7:30. The inside is very bright and extremely LOUD. The crowds certainly have a lot to do with that, as does the fact that the music is amped up to 11. I most certainly don't need to hear the dance remix of "Call Me Maybe" anytime soon as I had my fill of it here. Service was very slow to get to my table - I understand that they were packed, but my server was busy macking on the hostess for a good long while before getting back to work. Once my order was placed, my food was delivered quickly & prepared correctly. My turkey burger? Ehhhh...kind of salty but I did like that I could sub steamed broccoli for fries. I really enjoy Jonathan's, not just because they have good food and martinis, but because the wait staff and bartenders are always very pleasant and efficient. I believe it's Tuesday nights where they have BOGO on pizzas, where you get two of their medium pizzas for the price of one. Their white queso actually has a little kick to it, which I love. Not crazy about their tortilla chips as they taste like bag chips to me, but the pretzels and queso...oh yes...hello lover! Their dinner salads are massive and they have a lot of variety. Don't worry about asking for substitutions with the salads as they're happy to please. Their wings could be hotter as the atomic isn't hot enough for me, but they are always tasty and served hot. The menu is actually really large, so you'll find something for every taste. We typically sit in the bar, as it's a sportsbar type atmosphere. I suggest you get there early during happy hour as it gets pretty packed. I will say my ONLY real complaint is not enough beer variety. Yes, they have quite a few taps, but they don't seem to change them out often. I'm tired of the same three IPAs they've had for ages. Disclaimer: Jonathan's is directly behind the hotel l'm staying in (ALoft Hotel), so this review is SOLELY on the food and lightning fast delivery. Regarding delivery-- they do charge a $4 delivery fee on all orders (and dont take cash), but it's worth it to this exhausted traveler. And they'll take your order right up to your room, which is great. I ordered the Avocado Club sandwich which was quite possibly one of the best sandwiches l've EVER had-- You'd never think to combine fresh avocado with pesto mayo on a chicken sandwich, but it absolutely works. Throw it all on fresh cranberry walnut bread and they've created a near perfect sandwich. I should also mention that the meal was served with all the right condiments, and sturdy (NOT cheap) plasticware. This is the only restaurant I was able to visit in Franklin, TN...and I visited twice. It is a very large space, with a friendly staff. However, this really reminded me of a Chili's... The bar was large, and nice, but nothing special. It's a good spot to watch a game due to the location of quite a few tvs (even in the restaurant area and small private room). The pizza was quite good as was the sandwich I had there during my second visit. However, while I thought the atmosphere was average, bathrooms nothing special and food pretty good, the really disappointing part was the service. During lunch, we had a group of 11. About 8 people received their food at the same time while the rest of us had to wait at least 10 minutes with some crab cakes being delayed about 5-10 more. This, to me, for such a large restaurant with seemingly happy customers, was unacceptable. There is no reason that a bunch of sandwiches couldn't have been timed properly. I know we were a large group, but I've been dining with large groups throughout the country and haven't often seen such a disparity in service. Some of us, also, received incorrect or delayed beverages. All in all, it's convenient for many of the hotels nearby, but it's nothing special. read more

I came here after a concert one night, and it was the only non McDonalds place that served food at like midnight. We sat at the bar and they had a late night menu that was super extensive. Everything from pizza to wings to salads was on there. And it hit the spot perfectly! We opted for mozzarella sticks and a pepperoni pizza (all the cheese!) and it was delicious. I was sitting at a table in the bar area last night waiting on my date to arrive when I was told by my waitress that I would have to move because those tables weren't available for singles after 6:30. I already had two beers and my food. I told them I was waiting on a date. The manager then asked me to move as well. I had to carry my own plate and drinks to an open seat at the bar. We ordered appetizers which included the boneless wings, soft pretzels, and bam bam shrimp. They were all excellent with the wings and pretzels being my favorite. I have dined at Jonathan's Grille for years. I can remember all the locations that have opened over the years. For the most part, Jonathan's has maintained constancy in service and menu. Great beer selection and the menu offers something for everyone. I and some friends frequent the Cool Springs site. There is a server that works the bar on Monday evenings. She is one of the best servers I have witnessed. She remembers what my friends and I order and she is always spot on and she is always enthusiastic and efficient. Her name is Maggie. I look forward to my regular Jonathan's visit and seeing Maggie because I know the service will be great! read more

They were very accommodating for our party of 12, even asking if we wanted the bill all together or separate checks when making reservation. The night of our dinner, they had the table ready for us.
