Try three subs Turkey - Chicken, maple bacon Steak bomb I was hoping the turkey sub would be the best however, I was fairly disappointed it lack flavor and taste. It was somewhat watery. Not sure why?! Next I tried the steak bomb it was very flavorful definitely two thumbs up you must try! Last I tried the chicken bacon maple... OMG it was amazing! The flavor was excellent. Holy smokes! This was such a surprisingly delightful lunchtime detour! We wanted somewhere quick and all the fast food joints had lines too long... then we saw this sub shop. Naturally, we expected your standard subs. Big mistake! The meats are grilled to order, fresh seasoning, and all your favorite sandwiches... Cuban? Italian? A spicy Cajun Steak? Even a sub burger? Got em. And better than you've ever had at your favorite fancy sit-down restaurant for that very sandwich. The fries look hand-cut and are cooked fresh to order too. I love myself a good sandwich and Jon Smith delivered. Everybody knows that a good sandwich rests on the foundation of a good bread and the bread here is wonderful. Baked fresh daily, it's perfect. I tried two cold cut sandwiches, the turkey breast and the ham and cheese. Both were delightful and I could taste the freshness of the ingredients. They don't skimp on the meat either. The ratios were on point. I also have to mention that I love how they shred the lettuce (yes, that's a thing when you love sandwiches as I do). They have a great menu and you can have them make your sandwich however you'd like. I'm in love with the high quality of the sandwiches here. The restaurant is open and clean and the staff is super friendly. On my next visit, I'm going for a couple of hot sandwiches. Until then, I'll be dreaming about that bread. Oh, do yourself a favor and try the cookies. I'm normally a chocolate chip type of gal, but the oatmeal raisin cookies were outstanding. Unlike you're traditional subway they also serve French Fries made to order. The owner greeted us as soon as we entered. She was so friendly and helpful. Steak sub was kind of dry for me. I would have liked it more on the rare side. If you like small crunchy fries this is the place for you but I do not. When I think of a hand cut fry I envision something closer to a steak fry which these are not. I had asked the guy who delivered my food for some malt vinegar for my fries and he looked puzzled (Jamaican guy) and promptly brought me some red wine vinegar (lol). JSS is a standout sandwich spot, the quality and portions are awesome, everything is customizable, the service is always great. I really appreciate that they have made a very concerted effort to take something that is generally quite simple from a restaurant standpoint (a sub sandwich counter) and make it the best it can be. I love trying new places needless to say I'm very disappointed in the SERVICE! Shelby(Shelly) took our order. She was absolutely rude! Unprofessional! Is an understatement. I was definitely not expecting this type of treatment. I advised her I'd never been to the establishment and had a couple questions about the menu items I wanted to try. UNBELIEVABLE HER RESPONSES , very short in her answers me and my husband were the only customers and the way Shelby rushed us was unacceptable. Honestly I wanted to walk out but Ny husband insisted that I did not allow her rudeness to get me upset. I will never return here and I will tell others about my experience. The food was good but I would like to say a lot of people will not tolerate this type of treatment therefore they may not get an opportunity to try the subs. The ambiance was welcoming. But I'm telling you if Shelby doesn't change her attitude it will turn a lot of customers a way. I really hope she does better. The 2 star rating is definitely because of the service! read more
