Grilled chicken with Mac n cheese and other sides
    Owen C.

As I was traveling in town I met with a friend that has moved here recent and he recommended this place for dinner. It was a great place to go to. I'm so glad he chose this place for us. Our server was super nice and helpful for us the whole time. The food was really good and the layout and vibe in here was fun to sit and chill and chat and see various tvs showing games and stuff.

    A fish and chips meal.

Price was crazy for this fish and chips. $17 for 3 of these fish sticks. Next to a crinkle fry for reference We had a burger that was no cheese but they put it on there. I walked around to tell them we would just take it and add another one plain. What I saw was the server scraping the cheese off with a knife and holding it in her bare hands, clean or not, that is gross. It was passed through the window to be made. What if the person had a lactose issue or something. I did address the issue with her and she apologized it's just the point that it happened. They refunded the burger but still gross. The food was good tasting though and the green beans were amazing but we would definitely not eat here again.

    Shepherds Pie $$$$$$$
    J H.

Arrive for a late lunch, and looking for good food. They were not busy, so took a table, and server was on top of delivering menus and silverware. She took our drink order promptly. Placed an order for Shepherds pie and country fried steak. Our server said the pie was one of her favorites. OK - correct me if I'm wrong, but is Shepherds pie made with ground lamb?, the serving of pie was very small, and came with an equally small piece of cornbread. My husband commented that it was just ok, he left hungry. I had the country fried steak with white gravy, which was good. I'm NO authority on this, since it is only the second one I've ever had. It was hot, a fair sized serving, gravy was tasty, and side of okra and greens were good. Upon asking for our bill, and my mention of the serving size of Shepherds pie, our server said 'ya, I thought it was pretty small'.

Fried catfish not cooked throughout. Pink and not flaky. Disappointed.

Catfish was undercooked. When I brought it to the servers attention she gave us a 15% discount. Not quite the best resolution.

Food is great, price is right, lots of TVs to watch a game. It's hit or miss on how busy it is.

    Shrimp PoBoy

Decided to stop in for the first time for some good ole southern cooking. Was surprised to see the place a little empty since it was a little after 1 pm and was a bit skeptical at first. But let me say, they really exceeded my expectations. I was stuck between the Cod fish basket and the shrimp poboy. We got the fried mushrooms as our appetizer. DELICIOUS!!!! The shrimp poboy was AMAZING. Generous size. My friend got the spicy chicken sandwich and left no crumbs. HAHA. Great place to eat with a what I saw to be a full bar and super friendly ladies and gentlemen who work there. Thanks so much!!

    Excited to try!

Full bar. Plenty of domestic & imported beers on tap or bottled/canned along with mixed drinks and hard seltzers. They even have a couple alcohol-free options and energy drinks. I got 20 boneless wings (10 Lemon Pepper Dry Rub and 10 Honey BBQ). The Honey BBQ was sweet and savory with just the right amount of sauce on the wings. The Lemon Pepper was more on the lemon-y side but not overpowering and had a hint of that pepper kick as an aftertaste. The chicken is juicy with just the right amount of crunch from the breading. The wings are great just as they are but they're better with some ranch dipping sauce (I'm a ranch kinda guy lol). The sweet potato fries have that nice balance between a crunchy outside with a soft inside, sprinkled with salt. The breading on their jumbo onion rings actually sticks to the onion itself and doesn't fall off or disintegrate the minute you bite into it. The ranch sauce is savory, it complements the other textures and flavors well. The overall vibe I get from this place is uplifting but relaxed. They have multiple TVs that're usually playing sports. The floor plan is open and organized. Plenty of room to walk around without feeling like you have to squeeze yourself between chairs. Clean, neat, and orderly. The prices aren't that bad for what you get. It's a little more expensive than your typical restaurant but I also ordered 20 boneless wings, two premium sides, and had a tall Blue Moon but the price is well worth what you're getting. The food tastes AUTHENTIC, like everything they have is made in house. None of it tastes like it comes premade in a bag or a can and they just heat it up before serving. It's what you'd expect in a restaurant like this. If you're in the Destin/Niceville/Crestview area you NEED to come here and get their boneless wings.

The restaurant is out on the bay with lots of yachts and tables set outside for those photos with your wishing to be yours yacht. Inside, the decor would make you think of a good Ole bar and dining room on the sea. The menu is diverse enough for seafood and non-seafood lovers, like myself. I debated between the meatloaf and reuben. It seems like the Reuben is one of their signature dishes and you can have it made with meatloaf, brisket, or redfish. I decided to have the best of both worlds and went with the meatloaf on the reuben. Excellent choice as the meatloaf was wrapped in bacon, nice and thick, and paired well with the Russian dressing. The best part of the sandwich was the provolone cheese. The rest of my party ordered the redfish reuben, shrimp plate, and fish tacos and seemed to be pleased. Sweet tea was fresh-brewed and refreshingly sweet! I wish I had room for their homemade key lime pie but had to skip on it. The Local's is sure to please everyone with their menu and scenic view.

On arrival we found when we got there that one couple inside seated at our table were waving to us but the windows are tinted so we couldn't see them. We saw another table arrive doing the same thing which brought a chuckle because we knew their friends could not see inside. We entered the building and there was no hostess to greet or direct us but the place is not that big so we were able to find the room our table was set up in. We had heard that martinis were a special for $5. I was all set to get a chocolate martini or some other flavor but when we got the drinks menu there was one Expresso Martini on the menu and I don't like coffee so I decided on a Long Island Tea. Others in the group had wine or beer. Price wasn't bad and we got a happy hour discount. There was a red pepper soup served as part of a meal-or salad and 6 of us had the soup, which was delicious. Tasted like an elevated creamy tomato soup and made you wish you had a grilled cheese sandwich to dunk in it. After our soup/salad there was a little wait for our entree's. The following report on the entrees found the grilled chicken salad with avocado, sliced almonds and feta Cheese was delicious with the chicken tasting like it was grilled on an open flame (maybe it was as we could smell char grill when entering the restaurant). The 4 lasagna eaters all agreed that it was very cheesy and lacking substance. They said you had to really dig deep through all most too much cheese to get to two layers of noodle and a little meat and sauce but it tasted good. They felt the online photo was misleading. The meatball sub was huge - like a foot long toasted bun with two very large meatballs, not something you could fit into your mouth but had to eat with a fork and knife. It was tasty. The spaghetti and meatballs and French dip had their plates cleaned and enjoyed their meals. The Nonas meat loaf was ok. I like my own homemade betterThe mashed potatoes creamy and I appreciated the ala dente fresh broccoli served with it. There was a comment that usually when you go to an Italian restaurant they serve you some bread but none was served here. My husband told me after we left that the chandelier right above me was caked with dust. Hopefully they have a spring cleaning coming up. The restroom was clean.
