Just WOW! The service was great, prompt and friendly. A good basic breakfast and lunch menu, but don't miss the pastry case! It's full of yummy choices - one of us had the gooey bun and raved about it! The eggs and grits were cooked perfectly and came out hot! The highlight is the maple bacon - both of us loved it! This is a laid back local joint with great food and a family feel to it. We will definitely be back on our next trip through Florida! The parking here has very minimal options. Additionally the staff were very distracted and did not work together well. The food is ok, not bad but not my favorite. They do have a spacious patio and bar as well as a good amount of indoor seating. No reservations and we waited about 15 min for a table (Sunday morning). read more

It was alright. I ordered the breakfast burrito which was subpar to what I could get from McDonald's. I do not recommend it, but I was looking around at the other orders coming out of the kitchen and I felt a bit envious. I think this place might be a gem but I'll have to drop in again and order something other than the burrito to know for sure. The place itself is clean and has that coffee shop vide. Amazing breakfast! Only place around open on a Sunday so my friend and I stopped by on our way to the Fred Gannon Bayou state park for paddle boarding. Menu items are fairly cheap and portions are generous. Our waitress was very fun, she knew all the specials and told us about the homemade bagels and cream cheese. Not a ton of seating, we got there 15 mins after opening time and it filled up pretty quick, but great view of the water if you sit at the two or three tables outside. Definitely try their maple bacon, probably the most amazing bacon I've ever had which is saying something as bacon is a staple for me. I usually don't like restaurant scrambled eggs but they made them exactly how I like to make them. Was a great experience, might try to make a habit of coming here on the weekends! read more

We were visiting from California and we search yelp for a place we could have breakfast, "the collar cafe" pop out so we went. The restaurant is a locals place; we were acknowledged as soon as we walked in and were given a table right away. The food was very good and fresh, the price was reasonable too. Went here for brunch to celebrate a birthday and the service was absolutely terrible. We sat on the lanai and were completely forgot about. On the rare occasion that a staff member came by our table they were not very friendly and seemed almost reluctant to accommodate simple requests like silverware and condiments with our food. We also ordered a couple pastries as soon as we arrived and were told that they would be warmed and brought right out, however the server completely forgot until we asked at the end of our meal and they arrived stale and cold, server did not even apologize or act like he cared. On the way to the airport after a great week at the beach and our family of four decided to stop and grab breakfast on the way. The name, ambiance and location suggested this was going to be a great find, but it didn't take long for the optimism to fade, replaced by massive disappointment. The restaurant has maybe 10-12 tables inside along with half dozen bar seats. So not large at all. We were seated quickly and offered coffees and menus. Coffee was decent and delivered promptly and our order was taken within five minutes. It isn't a complicated breakfast menu so not much in the way of fancy prep required; thus the name. Three skillet breakfasts and a breakfast burrito was the sum total of our order. I ordered my eggs scrambled "lightly", bacon crispy and only asked for the potatoes if they could be without onion. I was assured that could be done. About 40 min later.....I began to notice all tables had turned over. Although our server was awol, two other servers breezed by asking if we wanted more coffee. No one spoke at all about the incredible wait we were enduring. Nearly an hour after ordering our food was delivered. I immediately noticed the onions in my potatoes, the eggs hard scrambled and the bacon, while slathered in maple syrup, was limp as a wet pasta noodle. The young lady who delivered our food (not our server) seemed stumped when I asked which plate had the "crispy bacon". She pointed at one plate and said "this bacon looks the MOST done." All three plates had limp bacon on them. Having waited nearly an hour and virtually nothing being correct about my order we had to leave for the airport. I wanted to love this place but the service, and the poor preparation of food makes it impossible. read more

Expect a long wait (close to an hour both times) but food was good! Our table enjoyed the bacon and Bfast burritos the most!

Food is well prepared and portioned. Cooked to order, it can take a while (almost 30 minutes) to get your food order when the kitchen is busy. Coffee refills are free, and the service staff is cordial. I find it is worth the wait. The breakfast on bagel (they call it the BOB) will the maple glazed thicker cut bacon is memorable and will have me coming back. The down home breakfast and another visit was also a nice sampling of basics that were well prepared. Stepping into the place feels a bit like walking into a restaurant in Louisiana. The furnishings are comfortable, suggesting a bit of the sportsman's paradise feel. There is blues music playing from the bar area. I like it; however, it is not at an objectionable volume level if that genre is not your thing. A small front porch offers outdoor seating with a handful of tables able to seat four comfortably offers a view of the bayou across the street and small park . It was very good, the only thing is I wish it had something on it like either cream cheese or a jam or some kind of spread. But it was still amazing. Quaint small restaurant located in a bucolic setting. The view from the front porch which has a few small tables is of the bay less than a hundred feet away. Open for breakfast and lunch, inside is quaint and homey. All the tables were filled and everyone looked content. We ordered two sandwiches and sat outside. After ten minutes and no water that was requested I went inside and reminded the waiter who seemed to be new. He was very polite and brought water for my wife. I grabbed a bottle of beer from the bar and went back outside. We had come from shopping and had some perishables in our car. After about another ten minutes a waiter came out to clear a table. I asked what was doing with our sandwich order. He said "everything is cooked to order ". I didn't tell him that you didn't have to cook a sandwich. We waited about fifteen minutes more and I left two dollars under my bottle and we left. This is new owners, we hadn't been to this location in years.
