*Out of town Visitor* We visited the drive thru, on a late night visit and grabbed a few items for everyone. Their food was of lower quality than what I am accustomed to in Atlanta. Additionally, they had forgotten two of the items that we had paid for. By the time we made it back to our place, which was a good drive and discovering the missing items, we didn't even bother calling the store and advising a shift manager of the missing items - too exhausted from the day's activities at that point. read more

I give it a 2 star for the good service only. Haven't eaten Del Taco in over 30 years since college. The food was not good. The beef in the taco was mushy & weird tasting. Horrible..! So disappointed. when Del taco first came to our town last year, we were so excited and the food started off very good. Each and every time we've been since, it is steadily gone downhill. It's not clean, we had to grab a handle of napkins and some water just to wipe our table down before we could sit (this was that 11:30 AM). I have been eating at Del Taco since I was a toddler having spent my formative years in the west..... and there is something so comforting to eating a dbl del with cheese and a couple of tacos... So when I found out one had opened an hour away I knew I was making the drive. Well..... it was a very hard reality. After a 57 minute drive....I found out they didn't have more fish tacos.... And then after ordering I spent 26 minutes waiting for my food. Yes that's right 26 minutes. But fine, I was ready for my food. And we were the only car in the drive thru...there were no cars in front of us.... So we were not waiting on anyone.... And then..... no fries in the burritos, the bun on my double dell was HARD! And 2 of 4 tacos were broken up.... And had 2 tiny tomatoes on each.... Definitely an anti climatic experience. I am sad right now... why did it have to be this way. I spoke to the guy at the place across the street and he said that he doesn't go there anymore. He is from CA and sad he has gone 6+ times and it hasn't been any better each time... so now he just doesn't go so it doesn't jade his memory of the Del. So I have been eating Del Taco for many years since it was Naugles in California in the 70's. I was so excited when I saw the sign for Del Taco coming near me in Sandestin, Florida. I went there when it first opened and I was sadly disappointed. The beans tasted like water, but I thought they just opened so I thought I would wait a while before trying the food again. In the mean time a Del Taco opened in Defunick Springs, Florida, also close to my house. I went there and was so excited. The food tasted just how I remembered. The staff was amazing and the place was very clean. I have been back many times and have never been disappointed. So today I was driving past the Del Taco in Sandestin so I thought I would give it another try. Oh my gosh, the restaurant was dirty, the bathroom was discussing, The soap dispenser in the bathroom was off the wall and the toilet paper and paper towel were just in rolls not in the proper places. The staff was not friendly at all. They were actually upset that I chose not to use the kiosk and asked one of them to take my order. So I got my food and was just as bland as it was on my first trip to the restaurant. I could not even finish my burrito because it had absolutely no flavor at all. I handed my 1/2 eaten burrito and a second burrito that I did not even eat, to one of the staff and just walked out. read more

Oh, how I wanted to give them 5 stars! The best fast food for burritos, tacos, and so much more! I may be a little biased, as I grew up in California and always chose this chain over others. I plan trips to Orlando around eating at these locations. When I found out Del Taco was in Santa Rosa Beach, I had to visit it.  The chain overall gets 5 stars, but this new restaurant doesn't get 5 stars as it's not up to par with other locations. I'm hoping it's because they are new and there are staffing shortages. The food wasn't as fresh, and the tortillas were a little overdone. They didn't put enough cheese on them, as it normally is, but I ordered extra just because I love their fresh shredded cheese. Del Taco is stuffed way more than other places' simple, crunchy tacos and delicious burritos. Authentic toppings in a fast food setting The meat is tastier than at other chains. If you have one near you, stop! You'll love it! Please allow me to update on my next visit and award this location the 5 stars that the chain deserves. read more

Complete garbage. I love Del taco. This is not one to go to. The employees are rude, slow at making food "I sat there for 20 minutes waiting for my food in the drive-thru", food was cold, wasn't given napkins. Worst service, and experience I've ever had at a Del taco in my life. I will never come back. Del taco needs to get rid of their employees and hire new staff.. not one word was spoken to me by an employee once I pulled up to the window. They act like we were an inconvenience ordering food just by sitting there in our car.. Absolutely freaking awful. We happened to be in town last week during Del Taco's grand opening. I'm a Southern California native, so I have grown up with Del Taco my whole life. I always preferred it over Taco Bell. I don't live in SoCal anymore, but whenever I go home to visit, I always like to get it again. We don't have any locations in New Orleans, so I was completely surprised to see the new location while driving on US-98. It wasn't open it yet, but was scheduled to be open in the next few days. We came for lunch on the grand opening. Everything was just as good as I remember. My favorites are the fish tacos and the Del Tacos. We talked to the manager and he was very friendly. I asked why there was no breakfast menu, as the breakfast menu back in Cali is so good. He said they do not plan to serve breakfast at that location, as the demographics felt it would not go over well. They are missing out! Oh well.. We came back 2 nights later and got dinner to go. I hope the location does well. I look forward to going there again next time I'm in the area! read more

We went into Del Taco in Santa Rosa Beach , Fl. and had a the best dine in experience. We were immediately greeted by Kimberly she was professional, courteous, and extremely helpful. We came in a month ago and the store was not in the best condition. Today we came in and the store was immaculate, food was hot and tasted delicious. What a HUGE difference. We live an hour away from this location and this was well worth the drive. Thank you Kimberly for exuding happiness to all your customer it sure made the atmosphere happy and lively. I love Del Taco, so when I learned that it made its way to the Panhandle, I was so happy! They are also military-friendly. I went there on the soft open, so awesome, brought me to memory lane growing up in Southern California! I went there pretty much every day for almost a month. Josh the manager was a great example of superior customer service, and would make Del Taco proud! He kept his crew on point, providing great-tasting products and customer service. I would give them 5 Stars! Unfortunately, Josh is no longer there and leadership is failing to lead their crews to Del Taco standards. Nowadays, the food is bland and lacks taste, and the quality and cleanliness have gone down. They also employ an outsourced work registry which is very poor in regards to service and food prep. The majority of the staff is from the registry, with only two true Del Taco employees at any given shift. I gave them four more chances, but all a letdown. Even witness crew members not washing their hands after restroom or changing the trash, reported to management. read more

My entire order was completely wrong, after waiting in the car line for it. I went back into the restaurant to get my correct order and waited another 7 minutes or so, customer next to me said "good luck, I ordered 25 minutes ago and am still waiting." After waiting again, I received the correct order but the taco shells came right out of a box with no heating so, they were chewy (gross) and the non existent meat wasn't heated. I had a long wait in the drive-through when there was nobody else in the drive-through but me. Instead of being greeted or asked for my order, I was screamed at "you can order now", as though they were getting tired of waiting on me to say something, when I was just waiting to be acknowledged. I pulled around to the window, and the clerk still could not manage to speak to me, or look at me, or show any kind of kindness or humanity. She open the window and thrust her arm out-it felt like she was throwing everything at me instead of handing it to me. I live four minutes away. I got home. The food was cold. I spent $11.44 on a nasty disgusting cold burrito that I threw away. I was hungry so I did eat the cold fries. I will never return. We love Del Taco , We tried this out our first day of vacation on 7 day trip , never went back . We typically stay with the cheap items being a family of 6 , so bean burritos tacos and rollers ..... grilled chicken soft tacos were very skimpy , bean burritos were good and they did sell me extra green sauce for $.25 a cup about a 1/4 cup sized ( so that was good ) but crunchy beef tacos tasted burnt couldn't determine if it was beef or the shells ...... they also don't sell fiesta packs ..... the guy we dealt with through drive thru was great .... I just think management is trying to hard to press a penny and not giving the quality of food they should skimping on cheese, skimping on meat and poor quality control ..... if you're like us and are Del Taco fans but don't live near one .... I know you'll still try it .... I hope your experience is better ..... normally I would have ran back 2-3 more times on a week stay to a mediocre Del ..... bummer ! read more
