Redfish taco is tucked into redfish village and is such a lively spot. Family friendly restaurant with ample seating indoor and outdoor. You order at the counter, making it a casual environment. Love that they also sometimes have bands play at dinner time. Lots of TVs inside too for sports events. We enjoyed the happy hour nachos which came out quickly. We've been 30a regulars - and been Red Fish Taco patrons for several years. This isn't the same RFT and we won't be back. They moved to become part of the Dawson Group and the food quality has gone wayyyyy down. We went in on a Monday for Happy Hour, the tequila in the house margs has gotten cheaper, the queso feels like it came from a cafeteria and the guac needed about a pound of salt and lime to make it better. My sister in laws shredded chicken tasted like it had been rolled in straight chili powder. Some things should be left alone. This is wasn't an improvement. And the worst part- is that the Dawson Group people were eating and having a meeting there too. It's a shame. read more

Had a great meal with the family at Red Fish! We ordered at the counter, and opted to eat indoors where our group found a large table where we could sit together. There was seating outdoors with patio heaters but it was pretty busy due to the live music that night. Our food was brought out quickly and it was piping hot. You could grab your own silverware, napkins and condiments (the green sauce is my fave!!) and take out containers too at a self service station. Our dishes were cleared quickly when we were finished - the staff were very attentive and efficient. The smoked brisket tacos were fantastic, the grouper tacos were great, the birria tacos were excellent - everyone was happy with the portions and great flavors. We shared a tres dippers and it was a generous portion of salsa, guac and queso with chips (still warm) - so good! Highly recommend Red Fish Tacos for a casual night out. read more

Food was expensive and not very tasty. The street corn used to be on the cob and was tastier. Now, it seems like it's from a can and not nearly as good. We go every year, sometimes multiple times, when on vacation in blue mountain. The new layout and decorations were also a detraction from its previous vibe. Every year we come to the area for the week and this is our first time actually dining here. I'm mad at myself for not going all the times before. They do get crowded but where we stay at, we can walk here. Please order the chips n salsa the chips are perfectly seasoned, Salsa is kinda chunky and flavorful and with just a hint of spice....very good. This is a genuine shame. Red Fish Taco was a staple of my family and I for many many years. Having fantastic food, great service and a homey, welcoming atmosphere. The Dawson Group has RUINED my favorite restaurant on 30A. Not only has the food quality DRASTICALLY decreased, but the ENTIRE MENU has nearly doubled in price. I used to be able to get a brisket quesadilla a side of street corn AND a drink for $20 or less. Now, a quesadilla ALONE is $14, adding brisket is $7 MORE and a simple sweet tea is $3. Not to mention the street corn is no longer street corn. It's now comes in a bowl filled with taco seasoning claiming it's "Elote". The "Elote" (on the menu it claims to be "corn cut off the Cobb") is now canned corn with taco seasoning, butter and tomato's. Dawson Group, you should be ASHAMED of yourselves. Taking a PERFECT business and changing everything about it when nothing was wrong in the first place. Renovating a place, then jacking up the prices to pay for it is not the way to run a business. No one asked for this. No one. I'm extremely disappointed in this "new management" and I will NOT be returning. read more

All I have to say is THANK GOD for the Dawson group breathing new life into this restaurant and menus. The food was below average prior to the management change and the inside felt like a hollister store in the mall in 2007 with how dark it was. BUT NOW The food quality has drastically improved and they have kept the live music that the locals love. My husband and I go here multiple times a month and always bring friends or family when they are in town. If you're a local or here on vacay do yourself a favor and come to redfish for the best fajitas and great drinks! read more

I've had their fish tacos previously. The fish was . We returned and ordered the tacos and they were horrible. Two tortillas with a smidgeon of fish and sauce- no cabbage - no nothing. 5 stars for alcoholic slushies, 3.5 stars for food. We went here three times. We found the alcoholic slushies to be strong and delicious, particularly the mezcal based. $16 but worth it. Probably not good to order if you are driving. Location is nice - a welcome burst of air conditioning on a hot summer day. TVs with sports. We found the food decent. Across the visits we have various appetizers and tacos. The queso and salsa are both good. Price point for food was a little high but in line with the area. No complaints on the food but nothing wowed us. We didn't love the service situation / ordering at counter / lack of physical menus. A personal preference but made it harder to organize our group and it's pretty dark at the counter looking at the menus. Wait on the longer side even when it wasn't busy. The last time we returned for the slushies alone. This is the way. read more

We had a fantastic time at Red Fish Taco. The brisket quesadillas were perhaps the best quesadillas ever. 10/10 no question. We literally ordered a second serving after eating our whole meals because it was so good. Prices were excellent and service quick. The live music was mid-tier. This place was a huge disappointment. The kid's meal is a single taco for $12 - the chicken is veryyy spicy for a child item. The fries were a soggy wedge fry. Worst kids meal I've seen in a long time. The rest of the food we ordered was "meh" at best. Certainly not worth $100 for four people - no one left full or happy. Hate this experience because we genuinely enjoyed this place last year when we came. There are way too many good restaurants nearby to waste money here. read more

When I got home, I noticed the meat had long pieces with nerves and connective tissue in it. I asked the butcher what cut it was, and he said it was chuck roll. However, as a butcher myself, it looked much more like shoulder clod. There was also a 3.25% surcharge for credit card use added to my purchase, even though I paid with a debit card. When I called the store about the issue, they told me I could come back. When I arrived to request a refund, instead of helping resolve the problem, I had three employees arguing with me at once. They claimed they couldn't give a full refund because of "tax" and the "credit card fee," even though they never even looked at my receipt to verify how I paid or what was actually charged. Another employee insisted there was tax on the meat, which shouldn't apply to uncooked food. Rather than owning the mistake, they kept directing me to speak with the meat department for an exchange when all I wanted was a refund. I also asked to speak with a manager, and they said no manager was available. On top of that, the sanitation practices were concerning. The man working in the meat department was not wearing gloves or a beard net, even though he had a beard. I also saw him grabbing beef feet with his bare hands. That is not sanitary and definitely not what I expect to see in a meat department. As a Mexican butcher myself, I'm honestly disappointed in both the customer service and the quality of the meat. The situation was handled very poorly, and the meat is overpriced for the quality. I definitely won't be coming back.

We landed at Local Catch in search of grouper and we found it! I loved their blackened grouper with beurre blanc sauce, green beans and mashed potatoes. Before diving into the grouper, I shared nachos with the table and they too were surprisingly awesome. Local Catch makes their nachos with home made tortillas and something about how they topped them with pork, lots of cheese, and a little bit of a sweet salsa, madee them memorable. Other items on the seafood and American fare inspired menu include tacos, burgers, po' boys, steaks and salad. If I wasn't craving grouper, it would have been hard to choose. Service was excellent as well. We visited during the busy spring break season and there was plenty of parking in the private lot. In addition to indoor seating, there are also some tables on the front patio. I'd love to return and try many more menu items and my leam with a draft beer or cocktail.

Unfortunately, everything else went downhill. We split the fried redfish basket, and for what it cost, it felt almost criminal. There wasn't a price listed, so getting the bill was a shock (especially because all the other baskets were $30). The fish itself was decent quality, but the breading was heavy, bland, and overwhelmed the redfish. The curly fries were unique, but they left both of us feeling greasy and weighed down afterward. Service was mixed. The hostesses were friendly and welcoming, and our server was pleasant as well, though it felt like there was a strong push to upsell throughout the meal. In the end, two cups of gumbo, one fried fish basket to share, and our total came to $85 including taxes and tip. Considering the quality of the fried basket, the value just wasn't there. If the fish basket alone was around $50, that price is hard to justify. It felt more like a money grab aimed at visitors than a restaurant focused on earning repeat local customers.
