While waiting, we sat at the bar. I ordered a Paloma. It was tasty and the presentation was nice. However, we saw a cockroach in the straw container on the bar. We told the bar tender and she threw half the straws away. We told her she needed to toss all of them and she did. I couldn't finish my drink after that. The wait was very long. On the phone they told us it would be 20-30 minutes. It was 2 hours. They told us the reason was because another table was overstaying, which didn't make a lot of sense. Our waitress was rude. She was annoyed we wanted separate checks and was very curt. All of us were put off by her attitude. For appetizers, we got the edamame hummus, edamame, Brussels sprouts, and shrimp lettuce wraps. The edamame hummus was weird. It didn't have a ton of flavor and the wasabi peas and ginger on top were just strange. The Brussels sprouts and shrimp wraps were good. The shrimp wrap was probably our favorite app. For my entree, I got Sandor's ravioli. It was good, but not hot. The ravioli was handmade and very cheesy. The fish was perfectly blackened. Unfortunately our bride's steak was undercooked and she didn't want to send it back after the long wait and waitress attitude. I got the key lime pie to go and it took forever to get it. We had to ask another server to get it. It was amazing, but not worth the hold up after an already negative experience. We let the manager know about our experience and while they were very apologetic and offered us a discount, our experience was what it was and we had already paid. I appreciate their acknowledgment and offer to make it right.

Not that I have ever been to a real fish camp but a restaurant with fish camp in the name calls to me so my sister and I visited Stinky's for an early lunch. Stinky's is an awesome spot for lunch because you can get half of a salad and half of a po' boy or half of a po' boy with a cup of soup. I was tempted by those halfsies combinations but ultimately I went with a basket. Much to my surprise, the basket could be ordered fried, grilled or blackened. I went with blackened shrimp and they were excellent - perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. So many places and people (myself included) overcook shrimp but these were timed perfectly! The basket also included tasty, crispy, big curly fries and hush puppies. What's not to love about fried dough but the hush puppies weren't my favorite. Those shrimp on the other hand . . . I am still thinking about them! I am sorry I am not remembering our server's name because he was awesome and absolutely deserves a shout out. He was super kind, attentive and personable. He had my heart when we offered me a Diet Coke to go. I'd go back to Stinky's just for his hospitality . . . And those blackened shrimp. The atmosphere is very casual and it has its own parking lot. Next door is Stinky's Bait Shop which is a unique spot offering fish and tackle, coffee, happy hour and a casual simple breakfast. I look forward to returning to Stinky's - either the restaurant or bait shop, maybe both!

He had great recommendations for every customer and was friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough throughout the entire experience. The food came out quickly, hot, and full of flavor. Everything was so well-seasoned that I didn't even need to add anything extra. Every bite was fresh and satisfying. Chile Stewby's is officially invited to the cookout! Highly recommend if you're looking for a quick, flavorful meal with excellent customer service.

My husband has been in the area for several weeks and the rest of us came to visit this week. We came to Stewby's for dinner on our first night. Be aware - it gets busy! He was ready for that and we got there just before 5:00 and there was a short line, but tables were available. Shortly after 5:00 hit, so did the line and by the time we left it had wrapped around the front of the building. Between the four of us we ordered fried mahi mahi, grilled grouper and calamari. All were very good, though I don't think I'd get the calamari again (it's my son's favorite, so we had to try it). Each meal comes with 2 sides and hush puppies. I also ordered a "side" of okra, something we don't get at home very often, and it was a huge portion. They were willing to mix the tea and sweet tea for a half and half for me - I always do this but somehow my husband of 20 years has never realized it before now and now it's his go-to order as well.
