I had an excellent experience ordering take-out from Jon and Vinny's. They have a take-out window but it was closed so I went inside and was helped by the manager Liliana who was so helpful and kind. I told her i was looking for a vegetarian pasta. Luckily, there were lots of options for me. I chose the spaghetti with heirloom tomato, basil, olive oil, and parm. I also got a piece of banana bread. As I waited for my order I looked around the restaurant. It has a modern, refreshing white aesthetic. There's an open kitchen. Something I very much appreciate. The tables also have placemats with cartoons and they bring crayons for coloring which is super fun. They also have a kids menu. They serve wine, coffee, tea, and lemonade. The restaurant has some outside seating adjacent to the sidewalk and there's a shade they can pull down for you if there's too much sun. My spaghetti was so good! The heirloom tomatoes make a very sweet sauce. I could taste the quality and freshness of the simple ingredients. I want to go back and get it again. The banana bread was also good. It's plain and simple. There are no nuts. It was served with a side of butter. It was an unexpected offering at an Italian restaurant but I'm so happy it was suggested to me and I got try it. Tried Jon & Vinny's and honestly... pretty underwhelming for the hype and price. The steak was the biggest letdown. It genuinely tasted like a Jimmy Dean maple breakfast sausage, super sweet and not what you expect at all. The pasta felt like something off a kids menu at Cheesecake Factory. Very basic, nothing special, and definitely not worth it. Only real bright spot was the caprese, which was actually solid and fresh. Overall, just doesn't live up to the reputation. Other locations are much better. Ordered direct via phone for pickup and was told 30 minutes. It actually took 55 minutes and at least 10 door dash drivers came and left in the time I was waiting. I think they prioritize those orders over their own as another phone order was waiting much longer with me. Food here is good but hate that you tip before finding out your take out will take almost twice the time expected. For the cost of this I expect a bit better on expectations/service. read more

When you're seated, they place a cup of crayons on the table so you can color your placemat. Each one is different. Mine was a comic series. Too much to color but my co-worker got creative with hers. We were a party of four, so we decided to order family style. Our server Evan K was friendly and accommodating. Our meal choices consisted of: Gem Lettuce Salad with Calabrian Dressing, Eggplant Parmesan, Point Judith Fried Calamari, Brooklyn Dodger Pizza, Bronx Bomber Pizza, & Spicy Fusilli Pasta. I also ordered a glass of the Lambrusco - a crisp sparkling red from Italy. One thing about John & Vinny's is that the food is consistently good. The pizzas are thin crust but sturdy enough to hold the toppings. I really liked the Brooklyn Dodger. The salad was very tasty as was the calamari. The Spicy Fusilli Pasta could have used a bit more spiciness and a tad more cooking time. It was a bit firm (not al dente). Being Sicilian, my all-time favorite dish is Eggplant Parmesan, and I'm overly critical about how it is prepared. I have to say, this one was a winner! Chef's kiss. When it was time for dessert Evan brought an Italian Rainbow Cookie for the birthday girl with a candle. My co-workers also shared the Chocolate Chip Cookie (BDay girl's favorite) and the Tiramisu. Bronx Bomber (9/10): Pizza is my favourite out of this dinner, not soupy. Thin crust yet crispy, meat lovers would love this. Recommend to have a side of chili oil to make it better, or chili flakes to add some kick to it. *8.5 without chili oil* Spicy fusilli (8/10): Yummy vodka sauce and nicely al-Dante, pasta is not overcooked and it's simply delicious. Not too complex, doesn't have a lot of depth or texture. I've had better pastas but this is quite yummy (not memorable, but yummy). Burrata (8/10): Yummy, good to share on the table for a group dinner. I think it's a bit much for me to have more than one piece when there are pasta and pizza, if you love bread and burrata this is a great appetiser since they don't have complimentary bread. Passed by this place numerous times while nearby for doctors visits and decided to stop in. Pleasantly surprised at the whole experience, sad to learn they're only in LA. Would return when i'm around, the menu seems to have so many hits! Food (5/5) - Didn't try a pie despite how good they all sounded, instead started with the ricotta orange blossom honey sesame bruschetta which was SO flavorful, perfectly crispy toast but soft ricotta paired so well with the other flavors. Also tried the freshly made pasta (the bolognese here is the best i've had, rigatoni was cooked perfectly!) as well as the polenta bolognese which impressed me as this isn't a dish i see too often around! Affogato for dessert was just okay, not the best espresso shot pulled for this. Overall great quality and flavors for the price. Service (4/5) - Busy lunch hour, had one really kind fella serving quite a few tables at the same time so we had to wait a bit for a to go box and our dessert, but the vibe was great so we didn't mind too much. Walked in to order a slice of pizza for my son, as there is a flashing sign that says "to go" outside. I was told they don't sell pizza by the slice, okay, that's fine. I order a small pepperoni pizza that's a bit on the expensive side at $24. This is more expensive than I'd like, but it's Beverly Hills, my kid is hungry, so okay, that's fine. We order the pizza and pay for it. My son, who is just a child, says he wants to eat there instead of the car. The restaurant is empty save one other table. I asked the server if we can switch our order from to go to the dining and eat outside, which is completely empty. The server says no as there is a price difference for dine in and that it is a "full service restaurant." I don't even need any service, my kid just wants to sit at the outside table, she doesn't even have to bring any water, as my son has their sippy cup. Pizza was fine, Little Caesars is better, especially for the price. The venue seems nice, but not worth the dining in up charge. Service was disappointing. I understand that some places, such as Olive Garden, offer a discounted to go menu, but I'm nearly certain we paid the same price as anyone else would for a small pepperoni pizza, minus any apparent dine-in seating surcharge. read more

Beverly Hills outpost of popular LA restaurant. Came here with my family and cousins, and had a table of 8 reserved. They wouldn't seat us earlier so we hung outside while waiting. Indoor and outdoor space available but the place is pretty small. They have takeout/delivery as well. I had the spicy rigatoni which is super popular, and I liked it. I think the pizzas are actually more bang for your buck, and can easily be shared. I liked that they had place settings that you could color in with the crayons provided, so you can indulge your inner child. Came for dinner and while I've been to the one in Brentwood, this was the first time here. Made a reso online and still recommend that even midweek. Parking is street or lot so try to get there early to factor that in if you are meeting at a certain time. We started off with the zucchini salad, then had the chicken cutlet, and the spicy fusilli. The spicy fusilli is super popular and i understand why but I don't get all the hype. It is good but not worth the prices the cutlet had a good crisp on it and it was juicy but also felt like it needed something. It's not a chicken parm but even a little marinara could be nice. It comes with a side salad which maybe should be the "sauce" but that feels a bit odd. I actually really enjoyed the zucchini salad. Dressed well and packed with flavor. The food is decent: you don't be super pissed imo but you also won't be blown away. Service was attentive and the patio was great for a spring evening. I've been a consistent customer here and spend a significant amount of money at this restaurant, which is why this experience was so disappointing. I come here often and have always enjoyed it, but my repeated interactions with Illiana, the GM, have completely changed that. Her attitude is consistently rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. There's a clear pattern of her speaking to guests in a condescending way that feels unnecessary and uncomfortable especially coming from someone in a leadership role. It doesn't feel like hospitality at all. On top of that, during my most recent visit, we were pushed toward being seated at a table that was objectively one of the worst in the restaurant despite there being better options available. When we questioned it, the response we received from Illiana was not accommodating or understanding, but instead came across as dismissive and unwilling to help. It felt like we were being treated as an inconvenience rather than valued customers. This isn't a one-time situation either. As someone who comes in regularly, I've tried to give the benefit of the doubt, but it's become clear that this is a pattern of behavior. A general manager sets the tone for the entire restaurant, and unfortunately, the tone here is unwelcoming and unprofessional. It's really disappointing to see a place I've supported so consistently be impacted by this kind of leadership. Ambiance was more of a busy fast paced restaurant with dim lighting and an open kitchen. Seating is a little tight in there but we were lucky enough to get a bigger table. Service started off great, she was very patient and explained all her recommendations to us. She was attentive and kept an eye on us. The meatball dish was nice...two large meatballs...overly salted, but well presemted....3/5. Inside, the place is kinda dark ...romantic lighting...only about 10 tables...the chairs are heavy even though they are a light woodgrain color, but might as well be made of concrete...and the sit is hard and the seat itself has an odd misplaced groove that you can feel. Best to sit on the benches when in a booth...pass on the chairs, tho they do look beautiful. The server was lovely, made us feel special. This is hands down one of my favorite places for late night pizza & Italian food. 10/10. Everything on the menu is excellent. We always split a house salad with a side of ranch (the best salad I've ever had). The meatballs are insane. The Little Nats pizza is so fresh & the crust is bomb. The staff is incredible! Soft serve was meh...give me Mr Softee any day. Salads were highlights, as were meatballs. $2.75 to add a little grated parm on a slice of toast is offensive. And when you pay nearly $400 for 4, you shouldn't have crappy paper napkins. Asked for a bottle under a certain price (wasn't familiar with wines). Check comes, and it's 25% more than my upper limit. The favorite of the group was the Chaparrito pizza. It sounds like a weird tasting combo for pizza but it has to be one of the best tasting pizza I've ever had. Thin foldable crust. Not greasy. Stopped by for a super late lunch. The BH location soft launched their new cocktail menu, where the drinks are made with wine-based spirits. The margarita wasn't too bad...looked like a margarita and tasted like a margarita. At $16, it's even reasonable for this neighborhood. House salad - it is very reminiscent of an Olive Garden salad, but better. Fresher, farmer's market vegetables, plenty of pepperoncinis for bite, and a creamy Italian dressing LA Woman - crust is delightful...cracker crisp. The rest of the pizza is just solid. There might have been a touch too much sauce, for my taste, but the burrata and basil was nice. Spicy fusilli - al dente pasta and nice sauce. Wish it was spicier, but maybe they adjust for the neighborhood? Straus swirled soft serve - great chocolate and vanilla flavor, but the texture was a touch to icy for me (the soft serve I had at Joan's on Third earlier in the day was perfect in texture) Cheesecake - this is the richest cheesecake I've ever had. I am so deeply disappointed with my most recent visit to Jon & Vinny's. I was coming off a very busy week and was taking my only break of the day to sit down and have a restful meal. Unfortunately what I received was anything but that - it was a stressful dining experience, coupled with frustration and harassment. I was told when I arrived that the table I had was available for an hour, which was fine since I was hungry and wanted to get my meal and then just get some take out for my husband. When I proceeded to order, the food took an inordinate amount of time to arrive and although I was hungry I didn't complain. It certainly was no fault of the server who was wonderful and I simply assumed the kitchen was backed up. However, when the hour mark arrived, I had just received my food and a glass of wine - the hostess came to me and told me that the time was up and I needed to give up the table, even though I just got my food. When I asked what I was supposed to do, since the delays were not my fault, she said she'd see what she could do. I also explained that I planned to order some take out and hadn't had a chance to get my order in yet. She eventually came back to let me know that she had sorted something out and I was ok for 20 min. Immediately after she left, another person came over and told me I had 15 min to leave (in those words). I explained to him that I just spoke with someone who just told me I had 20 min - he insisted I only had 15 min. I then told him I would leave immediately - even though I hadn't received my take out order and he then went away. The original hostess returned to apologize for the incredibly rude employee - I explained this was not acceptable treatment for any patron to experience. The remaining time I had in the restaurant was absolutely awful and a constant barrage of employees telling me I had to leave. During this time the mother and daughter sitting next to me were outraged at the way I was being treated - they also pointed out that they were meant to exit their table on the same timeline as I was and not one person came over to say anything to them. It was interesting that they pointed out the disparity in treatment and pointed out that they were white and I was not - which is something they raised while they spoke back to the hostess on my behalf. Needless to say, it was the least relaxing meal I've ever had and a horrible customer experience. I have been a regular patron of Jon and Vinny's and have been buying the pizza kits for my entire team over the past few holiday seasons, so I could have an interactive experience with my team. This of course is an event, I'll never do again with Jon & Vinny's. I'm disappointed to no longer visit Jon and Vinny's and plan to let my friends and colleagues know about my experience, as it was so very disappointing. I rarely send back comments, but felt it necessary in this instance as the behaviour was so egregious and so blatantly disrespectful. At the end, I genuinely hope that Jon & Vinny's does better and learns to treat their customers with the respect and dignity that we all deserve. read more

We order from Jon and Vinny's often for work and they are always living up to their name with flavorful food, great ambience in there and service is always on point. 4.5 to be exact! Great service, equally great food, and a smallish, intimate atmosphere. Not only can you reach out and touch your neighbor's food at the table next door, but you can salivate and ask them how it is! The garlic bread is oh so buttery and delish, pizzas are divine and the pasta, though the size of an "appetizer" is really tasty! Will def be back. We didn't save room for dessert cuz this jon and Vinny's is right next door to some of the best yogurt in the state! Go Greek....go get some after dinner. read more
