Tonight I was near old navy which is about a quarter of the mall away and I could smell the enticing aroma of the chicken which led me away from my destination. I walked to Jollibee. Lo and behold a very very long line of at least 20 with a big crowd in front waiting for their orders. So I returned to my shopping at old navy and Ross. When I was done the aroma was still lingering. So I walked back to Jollibee to see if the line had dissipated. Yay! 6 in line. It moved fast. The employees are so nice. I ordered the six piece bucket regular. I wanted spicey but they were out so I got regular. Dang that was the best chicken I ever ate! I asked my husband how he liked it. As I initially forgot to mention regular or spicy when placing the order, I quickly told the server that I had wanted it spicy. As she had just placed the chicken pieces into the two buckets, she took them all out and placed the chicken pieces in a single layer on a serving tray, sprinkled some spicy seasoning on them, and put the chicken pieces back into the buckets. Nowhere on the menu board did it mention regular or spicy. I'm glad I got the spicy, as the seasoning gave the chicken the perfect kick! It was interesting that unlike KFC or Popeye's where separate batches of chicken are prepared spicy and regular, Jollibee prepares only one batch and sprinkles on the spicy seasonings to order. You would think that if they did it this way, it wouldn't be spicy inside the chicken, but it was. The fried chicken, with its crispy golden skin, was absolutely delicious! It was so savory, spicy hot with a kick to it, so tender and moist inside with the meat that just fell off the bone, and was still temperature hot when I ate it at home. I would think the chicken was prepared in a pressure cooker for it to be that juicy on the inside. The order also came with a separate bowl of brown gravy, but I didn't use it at all, as the gravy would have detracted from the true taste of the chicken. It was one of the best fried chicken I've had and no doubt will go back for more chicken when I have a craving. The fried chicken is sold by the buckets of 6 pieces ($10.99), 12 pieces ($21.99), or 18 pieces ($32.99). If you do the math, each option comes to $1.83 per piece. I find this marketing strategy odd, as it's not like other places where the more you buy, the less it costs per piece. Hence, there's no incentive to buy more than what you really need. At $1.83 per chicken, it is somewhat costly, and you'll end up getting just what you need anyway. I haven't seen any sales or promotions, so it must sell well on its own. Jollibee's other food offerings appear to be overshadowed by its Chickenjoy. The cheeseburger was all right; it had quite a bit of cheese in it, and the burger is slightly thicker than McD's. The corn was good; it had a lot of butter in it, but this is something I could have easily done at home. I didn't get the spaghetti because I've heard that it's on the sweet side from the banana ketchup sauce (mixture of bananas, sugar, vinegar, and spices (no tomatoes) and dyed red to resemble tomato ketchup). July 6 of each year is National Fried Chicken Day (no, I'm not making this up). I'll be having my fried chicken fix on that day. Maybe it will be Jollibee's Chickenjoy. Maybe Jollibee can celebrate that special day too by having a promotion. But, Jollibee is based in the Philippines and maybe they don't celebrate National Fried Chicken Day like we do in the US. But honestly, I can get most things on their menu at other places (like Zippy's) - the prices would be comparable, the service just as fast and the taste and quality (most importantly) would be better: Hamburgers - McDonalds or even L&L if you just want a quick burger fix. Kua Aina Burger or Teddy's Bigger Burger for something more substantial. Fried Chicken - KFC of course. Actually, the Safeway deli makes a decent fried chicken in my opinion and it's usually on sale on Fridays. Spaghetti - Take your pick from the gazillion Italian restaurants on the island. I saw this place at Ala Moana Mall while walking by. It's like KFC but Filipino style. They have hot and spicy chicken and they give you gravy with it. They have these combo specials too with interesting sides like rice vermicelli noodles with shrimp garlic sauce, which was my favorite. All in all, it was a great culinary Asian fast food experience. I just had to see what all the hype was about and ventured into the ala moana food court. Usually, I try to stay far far away from the food court, but for some reason I thought it'd be a good idea to finally try Jollibee. First, they are located on the makai side of the food court, across the walkway from Curry House. Now you'd think with it being lunch time rush hour and all, there would be some sort of organized line. All the patrons of Jollibee decided it would be a fantastic idea to make the line perpendicular to the walk way instead of standing against the wall to let people walk in and out of the food court entrance. It's not entirely their fault, it's a little hard to see the menu when youre against the wall. I tried to subtly and slowly move the line more towards the wall, but it was unsuccessful and the woman behind me actually tried to cut me out of line. I guess I wasn't that subtle. I wanted to try the chicken and the spaghetti, however there wasn't really anything on the regular menu that satisfied what I wanted to order without extras....until I saw a little advertisement next to the cashier. When I tried to order what was advertised, the cashier seemed confused and tried to sell me a more expensive combo on the regular menu. Annoying... The chicken was decent, but the pasta was really sweet. I wont be back. I would also suggest displaying a menu on the wall so that the line doesn't block the walkway. read more

This place was my go to for the best fry chicken. Juicy and good quality chicken. I made an order for a ten piece and sides on Thursday 1/12 and was excited to have some for the first time in the new year. I even waited 20 minutes for my order. I was sad to discover that the chicken is not the same. What use to be a delicious thigh is now that cheap cut that every other chicken place uses.. half of the thigh and part of the back of the chicken. There were more small bones then meat. They maintain the skin to cover the piece but that's the biggest part of the whole thing. Because of the cheap cut it's not as juicy as before. The drums were much smaller then before.The service was not as good either. It may be because of the new hires but the original crew was very friendly and efficient. I placed my order at 6:45pm on Thursday. They even forgot to give another guy his buzzer and he waited longer then I did. Normally I would say go to Jollies for an Amazing chicken experience but you might do better making your own. At least Foodland and Zippy's still use whole thighs! So the lady passing out the order......I asked her if I could have ice inside the bag. She looked at my and looked clueless????? And repeated my words "ice in the bag" like I just want ice in the bag to keep it from melting. I really wanted to ask her if she spoke English cause she didn't know what to do. So if you don't know how to speak English then you shouldn't be in the front helping customers. Okay. I agree with several reviews that their customer service is not the best. Most of the time they either forget a piece of my order, the kids toy, or it comes way late. This can be attributed to the large amount of people that flow through there. Also, their menu selection is very limited, but what do you expect. Their fried chicken is better than KFC and most other chains (I think Popeyes is better). My biggest complaint is birthdays. Why would you close off half of the restaurant to celebrate birthdays. They have a section in the back for it but they still section off the front too. My friend had their kid's birthday there and it seemed adequate, but expensive. I think he told me it cost him $600 for it. Even though there are several other places I would love to go instead of here, I will still come here because my kids and my wife love it. A great lunch time option when looking for alternatives to other fast food options. Opted for 3 pieces of fried boneless chicken strips with brown gravy and thin cut french fries or white rice. While not as thick as a sit down restaurant cut of chicken, they were way more substantial than KFC. The french fries, while not pictured in the menu, are well made thin cut fries with just the right amount of salt. Service is not as quick as your average fast food restaurant but everything is packed with care and served on a tray depending on whether you are dining in the mall or doing take out. Prices are fair. While they appear to be a southern fried chicken restaurant there are some unique Filipino cuisine inspired items to their menu that include noodles or boiled egg. My 8-year old daughter and I got food poisoning from the halo-halo we ordered in this location on June 30,2021. My daughter got sick in that evening and then me shortly after. This is the only item we ate in the evening together. I called the manager in this location about this situation, but they just said "OK. There's no other customers that called for food poisoning". This upsets me because their response seems like they did not show concern for their customers' well-being. I am scared that there would be more people and/or children that could get sick because of this. I hope that this incident will make sure that the workers handle their food properly with regular glove replacements and keep in track of their ingredients' shelf life, especially for ingredients that stay in their fridge. read more

I usually visit the Jolli Bee when I get a craving for filipino style spaghetti (the sauce is a little sweeter, has sliced hot dog (has to be the red kind) and cheese in it). I usually get the 2 piece chicken with spaghetti and it comes with a drink if you get the meal. My husband gets the 2 piece chicken with rice and a drink. He also gets fries on the side. I'm decreasing stars since the gravy that our food came with was very watery. That's another reason I get Jollibee is the gravy. You can dip your chicken in it or like us, your fries! It makes the world of difference. I don't know if it was just the batch they made that day or what but it didn't taste the same with the gravy not having the same consistency. If I do need to get my Jollibee fix on I may try the other locations for now. read more

They also have chicken burgers fries desserts. They have popped up all over the US and has become popular. Today, after work, I went to Jollibee Ala Moana with my mother. I ordered 1 plate of regular Chickenjoy and another plate of spicy Chickenjoy for my mom, her favorite. Once I got to the table, we opened it to both regular plates of Chickenjoy. So, I went back to get one plate changed but instead, the manager on duty poured an excess amount of spice powder. EXCESS - to the point where it was unbearable to eat. I went back again to tell him it was too much. Then, he removed the spice powder and returned them. I feel as though he did not even wear gloves to remove them as I did not see gloves before and after he returned them to me. In addition, his tone of voice and facial expressions reeked of negativity. His appearance showed that I was a bother and unimportant. The way he handled the situation was unprofessional. It really ruined my mom and I's mood and appetite. The customer service shown by the restaurant's own supervisor shows that they do not have care and respect for their customers.
