I remembered when it first opened the lines would be long through out the aisle of the dinning area . Today no line at all I just walked up to the counter and put in my order . Friendly service they have a drink person along with an expeditor calling your name . I ordered their basic chicken sandwich meal combo . It comes with a chicken sandwich waffle fries with a drink . Chick -Fil-A chicken sandwich consists all white meat very moist and crispy on the outside . The sandwiches has no sauce or ketchup or mayonnaise you'll need to order their special sauces they carry . Original Chick Fil A sauce , honey mustard, Polynesian , Buffalo , ranch and BBQ. "One trick pony- who would have thought" National food chains are not necessarily bad. Locally, you want to give props to homegrown businesses, especially the mon n pops. So Chick-fil-A has been in Hawaii for a few years now, and this first location in the convenient main, Ala Moana Food Court in the street level of the shopping center. The other town location is located on Beretania street across McDonalds. We have tasted their offerings before many years ago when visiting Texas and California. The food was pretty good but not memorable. But from these taste opportunities came the beginning of a branding and comfort food equation that said, "if you want something with chicken, why not Chick-fil-a? First of all, as the name implies, the animal protein offered here is chicken. Not beef, not pork, not fish, just chicken. You can get the chicken grilled or breaded, as a nugget, stick, or sliced, all boneless. Delicious sides like mac n cheese, tater fries are also available. What is remarkable is their dipping sauce packets are varied (12+) and you can ask for multiple packets at no extra charge (hopr McD is listening.) We are partial to their salads which comes with diced almonds and granola for a crunch and several options to enhance the salad such as a hard boiled egg, cheese and of course the chicken. The employees are friendly, efficient and do their best to get the order right. There have been missing items on occasion but they are quick to rectify the problem so I would suggest always checking your order when you receive it. With another new location opening up in Kapolei, it seems like Chick-fil-A restaurants are popping up everywhere around the island. The Ala Moana location can be found in the the Makai Market food court, coincidentally across a Raising Canes. I like this location more than the Beretania one because parking is easy to find and you can grab your order, find a seat in the large food court, and spend the rest of your afternoon window shopping. This location is always clean and well organized. The workers are friendly and keep the line moving fast. I ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which was piping hot with a little kick of spice, and the mac and cheese, which was gooey with a sharp baked cheddar crust. Went to the Ala Moana Food Court and finally got to try Chick-fil-A...yay! Found out that you need to go to the long counter with the registers to order your food. The registers are located by the seating area in front of where you pick up your order. There wasn't a line there so we weren't rushed and got help on what she needed from us. There were a lot of people waiting for their food but our wait wasn't that long. I ordered the "#1 Chick-fil-A Chicken sandwich meal" for my husband and "#1 Chick-fil-A Deluxe meal" for myself. The "meals" comes with the sandwich, waffle fries and a drink. The sandwich came with a big piece of chicken...it was very tasty and filling. Thought the waffle fries would be crispy but it was on the soggy side which I didn't care for. No matter what Chick-fil-A we go to we know we will have a five-star experience! Not only is the food consistently delicious, but the employees are always well trained and enthusiastic and continually looking for ways to go above and beyond. Their customer service blows all other restaurant chains out of the water. Our go to order is chicken nuggets or a chicken sandwich... Good thing they have both of those! Despite this location not having chicken strips or seasonal shakes, it's still a five star location! Chick-fil-A is very well known for its efficiency without compromising its quality. They are extremely well known for their drive-through lines, however, this location is found within the mall which means there is no drive-through. And yet, the manager here has still been able to find a way to maintain that efficiency in the setting of high volume of customers in tight spaces. The food court here is very busy and still CFA has been able to create a system of taking orders while in line that has made the experience far from uncomfortable. And they continue to take mobile orders as well! Even when there are hordes of people clamoring for their chicken nuggets, we find ourselves only having to wait a maximum of 10 minutes. They also have the BEST rewards system of any restaurant in the game, if there is one app that you should download right now, it is the Chick-fil-A app. Lots of free food and treats to redeem for points and sometimes they'll even send you a free reward "Just Because". Just decided to get a kids' meal with fries. The nuggets taste almost like the Popeyes nuggets, and they look similar in taste and size. If you're a McD Nugget fan, then these nuggets may not hit the spot. The fries were pretty good and even better when dipped into the BBQ sauce. So just north of $8 in all ... more expensive than a 6 piece McD kids' happy meal, comes with a comparable toy, (but no apple slices). Chick fil a workers were so patient with my kids and deciding what they wanted to eat. The food is just like the restaurants on the mainland. It is a bit hectic being in the Ala Moana food court. But there are a lot of seats and bathrooms right there. They do free refills on your drinks and they do the deal where you can trade the kids toy for ice cream. Love that option! read more

After months of observing long lines we finally got to try this location. The Saturday night lines was a no line. We approached a line of servers ready to take our order. Our server was friendly and took the time to recommend some new dishes. She took my order and then asked if he needed my help. We ordered the chicken sandwich, fries and salad. We then waited in another area to listen for our names to be called. All the food came out pretty quickly. Food tastes the same as the mainland stores . Chicken sandwich was crispy. Waffles fries yummy. Cobb salad a favorite! There was actually ample seating in the area to enjoy your meal. I do not think our Saturday night trek was an everyday experience. Chick-fil-A has finally made its way to Hawaii and I was so excited to try it! I only had it once before and they messed up my order so I didn't get to eat it :( First off, don't be intimidated by the line which looks insane! It was even better with some Chick-fil-a Sauce! Chicken Nuggets: Also crispy on the outside & juicy on the inside. They were more like popcorn chicken sized vs chicken nuggets but, it was the perfect amount considering we got chicken sandwiches and fries. Waffle Fries: This was a pretty generous portion considering it a part of the chicken sandwich meal. The hubby & I shared one order and we didn't even finish them all. They were a bit salty but, still good nonetheless. They weren't super crispy but they were fluffy inside and again, everything tastes better with Chick-fil-a sauce. Overall, the staff was super efficient. There's sooo many workers ensuring everything is organized. I loved that they gave more than enough sauces! 1st review of 2023 is.... Chick-fil-A! This was actually my 2nd visit and my thoughts are the same. The nuggets are bomb! Love them! They are made with real chicken. They are juicy and not covered in a bunch of breading. The fries need to be cooked longer to give them some sort of texture. The chicken sandwich is just okay. The bread was rather soggy. They have delicious lemonade that taste like it's made with fresh lemons and is very refreshing. Service is friendly and efficient. Parking is usually easy unless the mall is crazy busy. There are lots of seating options in the food court but it can get busy during the lunch hours, especially on the weekends. I reccomend ordering ahead on the app to earn rewards and eliminate wait time! Don't forget the Chick-fil-A sauce! I also like the Buffalo sauce! Decided to get chick-fil-a today for lunch because my daughter had a gift card. The line was really really long (by the Korean place at the other end) but it went super fast. They got a really good system down! You stand in line, which goes into two lines. As your standing in each line a cashier comes up to you to take your order. You also pay there as well. You then go up to the front counter and someone will hand deliver your meal. The only bad thing about this place is no where to sit in this busy food court. Don't go at lunch time there's a lot of people in there! Food- I didn't care for the fries (tasted a little salty) and it was stale. The chicken nuggets was also a little salty. My girls loved the Mac and cheese we ordered. Price- A little pricy but everything in Hawaii is pricy. I'll definitely come back and try it again, hopefully next time the food isn't salty. read more

Which fast food chain delivers your food to your table as a service? That's right only Chick-fil-A. Here's the drill: don't let the line scare you. The line was near the Mama's Spaghetti when I got there. You'll be waiting about 15 minutes until you hit the ground. When you hit ground floor, there's multiple crew who will take your order. You can pay with card or cash. And there's another 10-15 minutes for your food. The runners will bring your package to you as you wait about 15 feet away from the counter. There's no madness with crew shouting your name out because they got your shirt color so they know who to look for. How do they come up with these efficient ideas? Damn, Chick-fil-A! The whole ordering process is smooth, fast and quiet. My order was a regular chicken sandwich, a cookie, and my new item cold brew coffee. I wasn't super hungry but I don't remember their chicken sandwich being so big and fluffy. I ate half and about 2 hours later I ate the other half and it was still good and the buns were so buttery. Am I imagining things or am I just brain-washed? Aside from their lovely chicken sandwich, I love their whole shabang chocolate cookies. Fast food at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu, Hawaii... When I saw that Chick-fil-A was coming to Honolulu, I was really happy! I remember going to the Las Vegas location with my Aunty Lily Kahuanui and my mom. Aunty Lily knew Chick-fil-A from mainland trips with her famous grandchildren. She said that Chick-fil-A was a Christian business which closes on Sundays to allow all of their employees to go to church. Note: This company is also known for friendly employees, excellent training for staff, and exceptional donations to charities. I also remember going to Chick-fil-A in Los Angeles with my friend Angel H. She insisted that we visit a Chick-fil-A and get a chicken sandwich because the quality is so good! (They don't use antibiotics or extra hormones in raising the chickens.) On Opening Day, 10-20-22, I arrived around 9am and saw a line along the sidewalk fronting Mrs. Fields Cookies, Ross, and Old Navy. I took my place in line which started moving before the opening time of 10am. While waiting, we received copies of the menu and a cute little cow plushie! Thank you! The mascot cow even came out to greet us and take photos with everyone! I didn't know that the counter was inside the Makai Food Court. The customers in line were let in by groups, stationed at various points of the Food Court, so we wouldn't block doorways and aisles! Eventually, we split into two lanes where staff took our orders on tablets and charged our credit cards on a mobile device! It was so remarkably efficient! This was the smoothest Grand Opening I ever attended! Right before we received our takeout bags, we were given another gift of a reusable insulated tumbler! Wow! So generous! Finally got to try the famous Chick-fil-A fast food chain! I've tried it before in the beginning of the year on a trip in the mainland, it was so good and met my expectations with the hype. I was walking around the mall and remembered this opened so I went here for lunch. There wasn't a long line. Actually got a little confused because there were 2 lanes that is meant to only pick up your food but one of the employees who was really nice directed me to an area with a line behind that is for ordering only. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich meal with a coke and chick-fil-A sauce. Surprisingly got the meal pretty quick considering there were quite a bit of people in front of me. Do I think it's the best chicken sandwich ever? Definitely not, but its not bad considering it's fast food. I went on day 2 (Friday). I was not about to attempt the grand opening line knowing it will be chaotic. I went about 9:30 A.M. (30 minutes before opening), and the line was near Honolulu Bistro. The line started inside of the food court where the seating area only is (2 lines), and then splits apart and continues again outside at Jolibee. Upon opening, the line moved fairly quickly - once you reach the front of the line (outside) you're given a ticket to give to the next person to let you into the line inside. It then splits into two lines - and i apparently went into the slower line. However, the ordering process was not bad since they had about 3 people in each line to take your order. Once you reach the front of that line, you wait again to be called to the next line to pick up your food where you check in again so they have your food started. In all - it took about 45 -50 mins from start to finish (not bad compared to some people). I left about 10:20 or so with my food. I ordered one combo + brownie. The Sweet tea reminds me of the same tea like at canes. The fries was not fully crispy just like canes is, the chicken sandwich was nice and crispy, and the brownie was not bad! Would i go again? Probably in the future when the line dies down to try the nuggets. The workers there are also very pleasant despite how crazy the lines were. It was also nice to see that they donated 25K to Hawaii Foodbank. read more

I've been to Chick-fil-A in Las Vegas, so I was excited for them to open one in the Makai Food Court in the Ala Moana Shopping Center. It was interesting how they operated this location. They had two lines, and I was third iperson in line one at nine thirty a.m.. They open up at ten. First, you place your oder with a server carrying a tablet. If payment is buy a credit card your payment is taken buy that person. I was paying with cash, so I was sent to the walking cashier. After making your payment, your food was brought to you as you stood in line. This is like a drive thru, except you are walking. I ordered the Chick-fil-A Deluxe and a strawberry shake. The chicken sandwich is one of the better fast food sandwiches, in my opinion. The strawberry shake was good but not special. Service was bit spotty. I was hesitant in waiting in line just to try a fast food chain restaurant.. but when I heard of their quick service and I had time to kill, why not? I went right when they opened, and the line was already to Jollibee inside. I got in line, and surprisingly, the wait wasn't bad. It only took about 10-12 minutes from the time I got in line to the time I ordered. Employees stood with tablets putting in our order and even taking credit card payments - definitely efficient! (And they were friendly, might I add). I asked for 2 of every sauce, and offered to pay extra, but the employee kindly said, it's free! Let's get you all the sauces so you can choose your favorites for next time. After I ordered, shortly after, another employee on a tablet confirmed my order. While the service was good, once I got to the front of the line.. no joke, they gave the orders to like 10 customers behind me first. This was odd considering I only ordered 2 regular chicken sandwich meals, and those people had milk shakes, bigger bags, etc. Finally, I got my food and I sat down at a table to eat. I was disappointed to see they only gave me ONE of every sauce, instead of 2. I didn't want to wait in line again for sauce so I just tried a bit of each sauce and packed it so my husband could try later lol (the other meal was for him) REGULAR CHICKEN SANDWICH: upon looking at it, I wasn't impressed because the chicken patty was pretty thin.. however, the taste was juicy and it tasted fresh. All the sauces were good - each one added a nice flavor profile.. but of course, their signature sauce was my favorite - it was like a flavorful honey mustard (I was least impressed by their ranch and Buffalo sauce - they were just standard and not anything unique) (also, their honey mustard is heavy on the mustard flavor, but given that their signature sauce and the honey roasted bbq had a nice honey flavor, I didn't mind) WAFFLE FRIES: delicious :) I had fun dipping each one into another sauce to try lol SUNJOY DRINK: half tea, half lemonade (aka Arnold Palmer). It had a nice balance and wasn't too "tea like" or too sweet :) In all, my first chick fil a experience was pretty good and I don't regret the pretty short wait to try their sandwich, fries, and sauces. Was it the best chicken sandwich ever? No.. but the employees were pretty efficient, friendly, and the chicken in the sandwich was still juicy and good. The only downside was oddly waiting longer than the others, and not getting the 2nd set of all the sauces for my husband's meal. read more
