It was a pretty big patty, perfectly cooked, well seasoned, the salt in cheese paired with the sweet in the pineapple, they got the bun right. It was bliss. So expect street parking. Luckily, it's the first food vendor you'll see. And within the eatery area, there are patio table for everyone. So don't expect fine dining. Wow! So good we came back and ordered the Pineapple Burger; so juicy and flavorful! We also enjoyed the Arugula Burger and the Chilli Fries. The owners are so friendly and hard working. Located next to the Oasis Hotel. Parking can be tight, but easy walking from the tourist areas. The interior seating is shared with other restaurants. It was a Monday night around 8:30pm (granted, a holiday/MLK Day), but they still had a steady flow of people coming. If you're in a rush, this might not be the spot for you - we were 'first' in line before the rush, but it still took about ~12 minutes to get our food which wasn't bad, but I imagine it could be longer if you have a lot of parties in front of you. They don't pre-cook anything, hence the wait. We ordered the shrimp burger and chili fries. Shrimp burger was definitely rich and decadent, heavy batter. I wish they gave you a bit more veggies to balance it out. Chili fries were okay, not lifechanging. Overall, wouldn't recommend going out of the way, but not a bad spot if you're looking for something different. Kind people working the front though! There is a restroom for customers, you just need to be able to climb 3 flights of stairs since they share it with the rest of the complex. It's clean! read more

For some odd reason I had been feeling very burgery as of late and I have no idea why. Regardless, we landed upon HI Burger and it certainly hit the spot. I ordered a cheeseburger with a side of onion rings. While majority of the burger was delicious and cooked well, I found some salt bombs and had to eat around those. Onion rings (and its sauce) on the other hand were amazing so that was one of the saving graces. Even the fries were great! Service is pretty good and there is seating inside and out on the patio. They were carving the meat when we arrived and they also make the kahuku shrimp patty with fresh chopped shrimp from Kauai. The burger was a great deal at $16, we also tried the onion rings (fried fresh with their own tomato based sauce l) and the coconut coffee. It tasted like a frappe at first but it had a few shots of strong espresso mixed in and was absolutely strong enough to keep me going all afternoon. We always park in the back parking lot and walk through the alley passing by HI burger and I have always wanted to try their Kahuku Shrimp Burger cause yknow... thats my jam. Finally on Christmas day we said you know what lets just go! So we drove all the way to Waikiki and finally ate at HI Burgers. This restaurant is located inside a tiny food court-esque thing on Lewers street and can be easily missed if you're not looking in the right place. They sell the typical things a burger place sells - burgers, sandwiches, fries, and a variety of drinks and shakes. We arrived around 7 pm and there quite a few people in there already. Luckily, I snagged some seats while my fiance went to put in our order of Kahuku shrimp burger, classic burger, peanut butter shake, and truffle fries. We sat down and waited... and waited... and waited... the line for the register was getting longer and longer by the second and it seemed like the girl at the register was struggling between running out food and taking orders. It took a hot minute for our shake to come out and another hot minute for everything else to come out. By the time the food came out, our peanut butter shake was completely gone :( In total, our wait time was about 45 minutes to get everything. I'm not sure if it was because it was a Christmas rush or if they just seem to be perpetually understaffed but the three people working there definitely busted their butts that night. Although it took so long, the food was actually really great. The peanut butter shake was incredible and my fiance said his classic burger was one of the best burgers he had ever had. My kahuku shrimp burger was everything I wanted and more. The only thing I was not a huge fan of at all was the truffle fries. Unfortunately I think the truffle fries was the first thing they made and was sitting on the counter for a while waiting for everything else. It was lukewarm at best and didn't taste a hint like truffle. For almost $8, it's definitely not something I would order again. Speaking of price, this is definitely not a place you can just go for a simple meal. The burgers do not come with any drinks or sides and at $16-19 each, it is VERY pricy. In total, our bill for a couple burgers, a drink, and fries was well over $50. Would I come again? Sure! Would I come very often? Probably not. read more

THICK, juicy, greasy, fatty burgers. I got the pesto burger to-go and it was good for what it was, I love a thick patty and their parmesan cheese fries were also decent. It takes about a good 15-20 min to receive your meal, it can get busy and the patties take a while to cook. My couple of complaints is that I'd like to see the patty more cooked all the way around, like flash fried or something after the grilling because it was undercooked and high fat that the patty texture was like sludge. I would have also liked seasoning on my burger patty even if it was just salt and pepper. This restaurant shares a food court with about four other stalls and restaurant upstairs.
