I've never liked getting my nails done because it never feels worth the cost. Sure the place has added new amenities like chairs and drinks, but that's not why I come here. I come regularly now because of Tony. He is such a high quality nail tech! Every single dip mani he's done has been flawless. When he spots a flaw, he fixes it. And he makes sure to use enough product so it lasts until the next visit. Also, he didn't mind lightening up on the drill when I asked and he put sunscreen on my hands that I brought before the UV light, even though I know that's a little inconvenient. 10/10

I have gone to Ben for nails and Lida for pedicures for years. They are professional, caring and kind. Only when Ben does my nails do they last for weeks and look great. Lida takes her time and gives the best massages! I've gone other places before and they don't even compare. Highly recommend

this was by far the BEST service i've ever received at a nail salon. Ben and Mickey made it such an enjoyable and comforting experience for my mom, my sister and I! i highly recommend for anyone looking to have beautiful nails and amazing customer service! They also gave us complimentary beverages, and my sister got a cookie! i love love love love looove this place!!!

Love this nail salon they have so many colors to choose from. I always leave here happy with the service requested. Ben the owner always does a great job on my nails. This is smaller salon so they only draw back is they only book by appointment but I like that personally because I'm never waiting and able to plan my day. Lita is great for pedicure I feel like I've been to have a massage after leaving her, she is so kind and always does an excellent job. If you're in the downtown Clawson area you definitely need to give them a try!

I would give Jolie Nails a 2.5 star but with the amount of detail my nail tech provided I am giving a 3 star. To sum up my experience - cheap services in regards to price, friendly staff, but lacks cleanliness such as sharing nail tools. Quality of the shellac manicure also poor. I do not think I would come back as I expect a shellac/gel manicure to last at least two weeks and I am too much of a germaphobe to risk going back. My friend and I work in the area and we needed a place to get our nails done. We typically go to higher end nail salons but was referred to Jolie Nails for their reasonable prices and quality of work. We were sick of paying $35+ for shellac manicures and decided to give Jolie a try. We called a week or so ahead and got an appointment (mani/pedi), no problem. The day of the appointment we had to change the time but the salon had our original appointment at the wrong time. This was a bit concerning to me and we made the original appointment on speaker and heard the time we asked for. So this was a bit confusing but we still could be accommodated with asking for a later appointment. The salon is in downtown Clawson and parking was free. We walked in and the salon felt a bit tired with the decor but staff were friendly. Also felt a little messy with the display of their nail polishes and the salon feeling cluttered. We got pedicures first and the bowls are the typical jacuzzi bowls which made me a bit uncomfortable with germs and what not. The girl who worked on my nails took her time and the pedicure was relaxing. There is a normal pedicure and deluxe pedicure. I went with the normal pedicure which included a hot stone massage. My only problem is the amount of cutting cuticles to the point where my cuticles got irritated and red. However, my tech did take her time with painting my toenails. My shellac manicure was okay. I went with a darker color and some of my nails (pinkies) were not fully painted, especially the side of my nail - it was light with the paint and not fully covered. Also the paint had some bubbling as soon as the polish was put on - never had bubbling with shellac before. Again, my tech took her time with cutting my cuticles but again I was worried about the cleanliness of the tools and equipment. I had on some old gel polish which my tech buffed off at no extra charge. Overall, I was happy with my nails after I left but a week later and my shellac is already peeling. The owner I assume or manager asked me how long my shellac lasts elsewhere and I said 2 weeks. He said, "good, that's how long it is supposed to last". Well I am at a week and the polish is already peeling and chipping. With all being said I will be going back to my $35+ shellac manicures that I know last two weeks and I can trust that the nail equipment is a onetime customer use.

4 days post manicure. Still going strong!

I had a wonderful experience at Jolie! I am new to the area and have been looking for the perfect nail salon & I finally found it! When I first entered the salon I noticed that it was a bit outdated but they had many colors to choose from and everyone was very friendly. The woman that did my pedicure was very thorough, but I am not so sure that the tools she used were clean. I didn't see any sanitizing machines and she wasn't taking them from sanitized bags. Other than that, it was the PERFECT pedicure. She took her time, it was roughly a 40 minute pedicure AND she used hot stones. I only got the regular pedicure- next time I WILL be getting the deluxe (it's only $5 more). Next, I got my manicure. Binh did my nails. I usually get acrylic with shellac polish. I told him I might need all new acrylic (that is what I scheduled my appointment for) and he assured me that my acrylic was still good and that I could just get my acrylic filled and save my time & money. I was very appreciative of him mentioning something and not just taking my money because I thought I knew what I needed. We had great conversation, he took his time and was very thorough. I am only giving 4 stars because of the cleanliness but other than that everything was FANTASTIC. Prices are unbeatable ($69 for fill and shellac polish + pedicure) and you can tip with card!!

Dip powder nails. Amazing job!

Such a great experience!!! I had Ben (the owner) he was amazing and very detail oriented. I appreciated the conversation and perfect job he did. $47 for dip manicure. I will be coming back!

1 star because I'm unable to choose zero. And if I could choose zero for the call I made to Ben the owner I would as well. 1/18/2019 I proceeded to go get a manicure and pedicure for the auto show activities (always trust your first mind) a part of me said don't go here but I did anyway. I picked a shellac color for my hands and they told me they would get the matching color for my toes. Picture attached. I definitely was NOT happy but went along with it. They did not match even a little. My pointer finger the next few days would get increasingly red, swollen and tender to touch. Today I finally decided to go to the dr. They said I have an infection and it was probably due to my manicure since I had no finger injuries. I at least wanted to call the salon to see if they would give me the money I paid back. Today Ben goes on to say in 15 years they never had a problem. And I need to call my lawyer and give proof - well I have a drs note and a script for antibiotics so not really sure why that doesn't suffice. He remembered me and was more concerned that I was the person who changed my polish- which yes I did but it was before they even started on my nails. So beware folks. He knows his wife did my nails so I'm sure he wouldn't say anything against her. I should have definitely gone with my first inclination not to go and any salon nowadays that can't afford to get matching polish like all the other salons that have the exact matching regular toe polish to go with the shellac definitely doesn't have the money to sanitize correctly. Do not waste your time going here and risking an infection. See pictures. Also when you're talking on the phone to the owner and he tells you to have your lawyer contact his - that means he's definitely been in this situation before. Stay safe y'all!

I've given this place 3 chances but each time my nails come out worse...I just get basic gel Polish but it doesn't even cover my full nail to the point that they already look grown out on the first day. There were also bumps on my thumb nail from clumps of the top coat. The guy barely even tried

Engjell did a fantastic job on my nails. I am really happy with how they turned out. Sweetest man! You won't be disappointed!

Weird chip on the index finger from smudging that happened hours after manicure was done. Pinkie was smudged too but didn't photograph well.

Will not go back here. I got a shellac manicure that wrecked my nails, smudged after hours on and wasn't particularly neat. The nail tech put FOUR coats of the color on my nails. At one point, I asked if this brand of polish (which I was unfamiliar with) required more coats than the average and she just said no. I have gotten shellac manicures numerous times and never with more than two coats of color until this time. The polish was red too, so it wasn't a matter of coverage. Later that day, two nails became smudged. Again, this had never happened before. Smudges hours after the manicure?! One nail eventually had a layer chip off - at least there were three more! Finally, after two weeks, I attempted to remove the polish myself in the same way that salons do, which normally takes about 10 minutes per hand, even when I do it at home. After nails on both hands soaked for 30+ minutes, all of the polish still wouldn't come off. It's still not gone after a few more days and go 'rounds with the acetone, and my nails are damaged. The two stars are because the service was quick, price was as fairly standard at $29 and the polish didn't lift or peel.

Binh hooks it up, EVERYTIME!!

Updated: Management…read morereached out to me after seeing my reviews and provided a compromise. We came to an agreement. I am grateful they were responsive and willing to talk and even reconsider some parts of their policy. I am updating my review to reflect this update. 12/12/2025 I used to be a regular at this nail shop and this review does not reflect the nail techs, they are always nice. Unfortunately their lack of flexibility with their cancellation policy, particularly for long standing customers that have had multiple appointments is frustrating. I had to cancel my appointment same day due to an emergency and was immediately directed to the policy and given a cold shoulder when asked about rescheduling. After sending them a follow up message via their very active social media asking if there is anything they can do, my message was read and ignored and I was charged the full fee for my appointment despite their policy noting you COULD BE charged the full amount. You would think there would be a willingness to have a conversation or a professional courtesy to at least respond to a message you read. Given my numerous appointments (at least once every 1-2 months for the last two, maybe three years) and an obvious willingness to reschedule, a conversation could be had. I have referred friends and family here and it is unfortunate that the long standing relationship has to end because of their lack of warmth with customers. I get it, missing an appointment causes missed funds for the techs but if its a first offense or a long standing customer, you should value maintaining that relationship and business over a one time offense.
