Puedo llevar mi propia botella de vino?

No you cannot bring your own bottle of wine, there are very few options in Miami that allow this, especially for places attracting tourists and as an upscale restaurant. There are FAQ's posted on website as well.

Is there a f&b minimum?

Good evening, Joia Beach Miami Beach does not have a food and beverage minimum. However, they do have a minimum spend requirement of $100 per person for lounge chairs and daybeds. I hope this feed back helps.

If I book the chaise lounge seating in the beach club area will I be able to swim?

You can technically swim regardless where you are at joia

About the 20% service charge it is for everybody?

Yes

Are kids allowed?

Yes but probably not after 10pm

To be on the lounge by the beach do you have to buy a bottle?

Hello, No but make reservations and request that location. The earliest the better.

When and what time do you have happy hour? Are reservations needed for HH?

Happy Hour is at the doorman's discretion.

I heard this is closing down, is it true? Nobody responds to their voicemails for reservations

They are under all new management and have replaced a lot of the staff.

Is this located close to ocean drive?

No, we are located next door to Jungle Island on Watson Island off of MacArthur Causeway/395. Between downtown Miami and South Beach!

Anyone know if their beach is open? On the website it's look like only the restaurant is open for dining but not the beach .

I saw people wearing bathing suits and walking around but there's signs everywhere that say no swimming.

Do I need reservations or can I walk in at least for drinks?

Hi Sally! Thanks so much for contacting us. Unfortunately due to the COVID-19 guidelines and to maintain safe social distancing at our limited seating reservations are…

Food (4.25/5) - a good mix of options for meats veggies appetizers seafood and sides. Dry aged feature cuts in the fridges at the front for groups looking to choose a larger cut. - Osso Bone Marrow - a very nice appetizer with tasty bone marrow marmalade with braised beef corn and chimichurri. Nice taste and mixture... chimichurri was a bit understated and could use more spice. - House Picanha - 16oz cured beef sliced and topped with herb butter shallots and sea salt. Was cooked properly and a large portion with side onion. Added truffle fries which were average imo. - House smoked old fashioned - a nice presentation and smoky infused flavour with single rock. Service (4.25/5) - attentive and friendly servers and hosts. Manager checked in as well. Team seemed to be hustling. Atmosphere (4.25/5) - nice upscale feel and lighting. Little touches like useful LED table lights, clothes trees and ample spacing between tables. Overall (4.25/5) - this is a very solid upscale choice for groups or couples. Would repeat and like to try some of the other wood fire meat choices. Worth checking out if you are looking for an upscale option.

I would highly recommend this restaurant.

First off, the service was absolutely great! From the hostess to our server we were treated great the whole time and watched after our every need. And the ambiance was awesome, felt like being nestled away in a little green cove. I was very impressed by our server bringing our table the truffle fries complimentary after we had ordered them to start but never received them. As for the food, I started off with the frito misto and I'd say AVOID THIS! It was unbelievably salty! The sauce and lemon over it helped but wow way too salty. If you can get past that the texture was good. For my main I had the wild mushroom pizza and the truffle fries. To me, these were GREAT! The mushroom pizza was the perfect amount of truffley, would've liked a bit more of a crunch on the crust but overall good flavor. And honestly the truffle fries were the star of the meal! Crispy, flavorful, and tasted fresh. I would definitely recommend those again.

Miami has so many restaurants and bars but lacks of more wine bar offerings…read more As a wine enthusiast myself, I'm always down to try new wine places. Ruka Winewood has been on my radar for a while and I recently found out they have happy hours between 6-9pm, so what a better opportunity to give it a try. For a Wednesday night, they had a fair number of customers. I sampled their happy hour red blend pour. It was mid body, somewhat complex but low on tannins which allowed for easy and smooth drinking. The fruit content was moderate. It was the perfect wine for an early night, to sip and hang out with friends. I pretty much enjoyed the two glasses I had. Service was not the best to be honest. During the 1 hour I was there, no one checked on me. No one asked me if I wanted more wine, water or another pizza, etc. I was hopping to have their charcuterie board paired with wine, but they had no charcuterie. I asked for the pizza options and hey only had one out of the 3 options on the menu, only the cheese pizza. The pizza is not the best looking pizza, but it tasted delicious. The cheese was sort of smokey, that was delish. I would have that pizza again. Summarizing, I'm coming back pretty soon for their red wine, at $5/glass, you can't beat that up, specially when it is such high quality. I hope they have the charcuterie next time.

We did a combination of the Miami Spice (since it had some great choices) and dishes from the regular menu. It was the first day of Miami Spice so the service was a little slower than what we would expect from a Michelin star restaurant but I'm sure they were just adapting to the volume of the night. I have to say that I found the whole experience strange. We were sat at the bar and after consulting with the server because of a gluten allergy, we went with the summer tasting menu with the wine pairings. The server was very personable and on top of her game, so I don't think any of the issues we had were her fault. We ordered cocktails to start. I love Money 47 gin, so I asked for a martini. I was shocked at the end of the night when that cost $48! I understand that it is a premium gin, but that's crazy. We often go to another Michelin-recognized restaurant and their double monkey martini is no more than $30. I asked at the end of our meal because I assumed it was rung in incorrectly, but nope! Also, we did the tasting menu and we were not half way through our cocktail before they pushed the first wine as part of the tasting. It was a prosecco. For an additional $140 for the pairing, I would have expected a champagne. Now to the food. It was mostly good, but not exceptional. For instance, the crudo did not use the best fish. I could not eat two pieces of the fish because it was too tough. This was the first course, and I was immediately put off. The caviar and sauce were very good, but the protein was unacceptable. I said something about it, but no real apology. With this level of experience, I would have expected a manager or chef to come out and say something. The rest of the meal was a mix of highs and lows. The pasta was amazing. The trout was ok. The rabbit was ok, but the rest of the dish was great. For Miami, the service was better than most, but not great. I didn't feel like the severs knew the dishes, but they could recite the ingredients and intentions. I was very much surprised that not one of our glasses of wine was served by the som (was there one?). For us, this restaurant was not equivalent to the price and one time was enough for us.
