Spoke with them extensively - twice over the phone), they gave me an estimate of roughly 8500 to 9000. Cool that works! A man ends up coming over to do the consultation. Blew up my email and text messaging over and over to let me know he would be there, that's fine. The ladies on the phone did not tell me, however, that the consultation would be 150.00 dollars. I find that out after he's already finished the consultation. He's super friendly, super chatty that's great. I was clear on the estimate that they had provided me - which I have in writing, again I had given square footage of my condo. He tells me he has to email me the estimate and he does two days later. $12,000 more than they estimated in writing with me twice!!!!!!! Beware of these people in this company, take caution if you work with them even over the phone. This was absolutely ridiculous. I let them know not to reach out to me again or to contact me in anyway they agreed not to and said they were sorry that a $12,000 overestimate causing frustration and confusion. Like I'm sorry - what!? One of the support beams was on its last leg as it has suffered dry rot. Alex quickly responded to my request for quote, came out the next day, and gave me a quote. He was very thorough with his inspection and gave me a no b.s. quote. There were several other companies I got quotes from but decided to go with Alex because of his straightforward answers and great customer service. Alex and his crew came the same week and did an amazing job on the project. They were very respectful of my property and placed everything back in their place. Their work was solid. Alex took pictures and send them to me as I was at work. After they were complete, they cleaned up the area well and placed everything back. I have never had a better contracting experience than I had with Double J! Our plumber doing the repiping recommended Double J for the remodel work. Prior to the beginning of work, Jim gave us a spreadsheet detailing what would be done by who and when. Throughout the work, he communicated with us frequently advising us what was happening and what would be done next. He worked with us all the way through, helping us make the necessary decisions that we needed to make and purchase the things that we agreed to purchase. Jim works with a group of small, family owned subcontractors who have the same work ethic as Jim. They all were fantastic. The work was great, finished on time and in budget. Remodeling a kitchen is a pretty major under taking, and was quite an investment for us, so we…read morewanted to go with someone we felt confident with, and after our first meeting with Jerry and Issac, (a meeting totally set around our schedule, btw) we felt like a team. Often, with contractors, after everything is signed you never see the owners again. Not the case with PPB, the owners, and project manager were there everyday, checking in, and documenting the progress. Speaking of progress, our full-kitchen remodel was finished 4 weeks ahead of schedule, and included many cool features and ideas they included in the design. PPB also greatly minimized the pain-in the butt that goes with having major construction done about ten feet from your bedroom. They sectioned off the entire work area with double sided tarp, and had lock box, so we had a lot of privacy and relatively little dust through out the job, (and left the place every night way cleaner than it was before we hired them). This kind of endeavor is never easy, there's always problems, and they handled all of them with ease and grace. (At least on our end) In fact for us, that's one of the best qualities about PPB is that they soak up all the headaches involved in a project of this scope; permits, inspections, a multitude of (borderline unreasonable) requests from their clients, all taken care of with a "no problem" attitude. And our kitchen looks better than we ever imagined. Highly recommend.

On the day of the job I found out he was not doing the job and had a young employee doing it instead. I was assured he was as good. The Bid included screwing down floors where there were any squeaks, which was only half completed. After he was paid in full I noticed kitchen doorway corner has a gap between the door trim and where the floor is installed. The Floor wasn't cut to fit properly. This will need to be filled in with wood filler and stained or painted to try to match the new flooring, which I requested he return to complete. At the time of the request I included a picture asking what needed to be done to fix this. I was met with SILENCE. He has his money so I am left to repair this gap in the floor. I paid to have a professional installation done and did not get what I paid for. There is a complete lack of professional obligation to do the job for which he was paid. I will not recommend this company to install your flooring.

Owner Dean Rothe walked me through the process and suggested helpful things like putting in shut offs for the hose bibs and making some changes to the bathroom I hadn't thought were possible. My realtor was so impressed with them that she planned to hire them in the future. They were helpful while I learned the DevHub process of getting a permit (wanted to do it myself lol). They made sure the work was done before I moved in and completed it on schedule. The whole process of working with their office and with the guys who did the work was super. For an unrelated emergency a few months later, they sent Casey the next morning!
