We have used All Surfaces multiple times for both our home and rental properties.   Lance and Shelby are both responsive and have excellent follow through.   Lance is.responsive to requests for measurements and gives us ideas for which products would be the most cost effective.    Shelby has helped us with colors, textures, and products that coordinate with existing styles. We have been very happy with their attention to detail.  Multiple times they have had to coordinate several contractors with great results.    We will definitely use them again. read more

I think Shelby is the best in the business! She patiently helped me remodel my bathroom and kitchen at my 1950s ranch over the last year and a half. We started working on the kitchen because together and I changed my mind a million times. She didn't miss a beat, was super professional and rolled with the punches. The end result is truly the kitchen of my dreams! For the bathroom design, Shelby put together a mood board and I loved it instantly. She knew what I liked/disliked from the kitchen remodel and nailed it! Overall, I couldn't recommend Shelby at All Surfaces more. Professional, patient, quality products, amazing design and top notch service. read more

We just had new carpet installed all through our house (A LOT of carpet). Price was very competitive, and the experience picking the carpet was made so easy, visiting the showroom and being provided swatches of every color we looked at to bring home and make our choice. Day of install went without issue, installers even put at least 50 additional screws in subfloor to rid the house of the squeaky floor we inherited. We absolutely love the new carpet. Will definitely call again to refinish our hardwoods when we have the time. Would 100% recommend using All Surfaces. read more

Look elsewhere. We had a kitchen and bath remodel. They screwed up the cabinetry (drawers stick out) the shower door (leaks) and the hall carpeting which had to be redone. read more

Had a very good first meeting (by appointment) with Shelby, she showed us several good candidates for kitchen tile. We made an appointment for early next week to have their estimator come out to measure, which will result in a written estimate. Next step after that would be installation by one of their subcontractors. Easy peasy so far, I'll update as this progresses. Update: the estimator, Lance, was very professional and well informed. A+. We have their installer coming out next week. Really happy with the process and the people! Update #2: tile work is done, and it is absolutely perfect! I can't believe that the tile job was so reasonably priced for such terrific results. read more

Legend Homes has been working with All surfaces for a few years now and we have had nothing but short of great experiences. From the broad selection of materials and assistance on the design end, to the top-tier professionalism and courtesy that they brought to the build phase of our kitchen remodel, it was a true pleasure to work with Anfisa, Lance, Tom, and the rest of the All Surfaces team. Their attention to detail and overall workmanship made things stress free and seamless for us. We can't recommend them more, truly a top-notch outfit. read more

These guys ROCK! Met them on Tuesday, got a quote, they tore up old floors on Friday, and installed new floors following Monday/Tuesday. Quick, clean, professional, good price. Highly recommend! read more

Worked with Shelby Hill and her understudy Marie on my mid century modern master bathroom remodel. The whole process was exceedingly professional and quick. A site visit to our home with an eye to blend style with our already remodeled kitchen was first step. Shelby then used our ideas and helped us modify the layout and then selected tile, stone and hardware in conjunction with our advice. The end result was incredible. She was available to aid our contractor during construction with small details while we wintered in a sunny clime. Sounds perfect, well it was. read more

Agreed, agreed, agreed. I went from thinking that buying new tile would be a fun project (thanks, Pinterest), to quickly realizing that it's a total pain in the arse that involves calling multiple suppliers, navigating contractor prices vs. public prices, visiting appointment-only showrooms, and just generally jumping through hoop after hoop... until I called A-1. Michele answered the phone and within 3 minutes had a better price on a better product than my contractor and all his designers were able to find. It's a 3-person operation, so the personal attention is high. And because they buy direct, they leave out the middleman and pass on the savings to their clients. I saved about 35% from my next lowest quote. It was generally just an easy, organized, upfront experience. I only wish I also used their installers! There's always next time... read more

We contacted All Surfaces to replace a countertop in our master bathroom, after seeing what a great experience some close friends had using them to install their new quartz kitchen countertops. We picked out a quartz remnant for our bathroom and it's absolutely beautiful! We worked with Anfisa to get the process started, and she made the whole process so simple and easy for us. She was easy to communicate with and always quick to respond to questions. The template and installation teams were very professional and efficient. They were also respectful of our space and home, and given the pandemic, I really appreciated that more than ever! The project was done in less than a month from start to finish and the countertop pricing was more competitive than some other companies I reached out to. I would recommend this company to anyone! We will definitely be contacting them for any projects in the future. read more

The best! We had recently moved to Portland and purchased a townhouse in horrible condition that needed new carpet & flooring (among many other things). A-1 is in NW and is small shop focused on customer care. I personally like to shop in smaller stores, not giant warehouses where too many choices can bog you down. Michelle was very helpful in narrowing even further and creating a cohesive look while understanding our needs. Fast forward to installation time- their installer, Mark was very professional & knowledgeable. We had a lot of snafus with the contractor (who was not licensed and bonded--lesson learned) and Curt at A-1 was there to help with recommendations. Now we are well on our way to completion and being able to enjoy our new home. Very professional and very organized company-we will definitely be back to A-1! read more

They say if you request a quote you will get a response in about a day. Four days later no response. I call, oh "we didn't get your e-mail." Oh wait, here I see it (no apology). Then I promise to share some photos so they can prepare an estimate. I send the photos. Oh wait. Again no response!! Days go by. I send another e-mail. A week later no response. So if a lack of response and accountability is what you want then A-1 Carpet and Tile is your company! read more

We ended up selecting another contractor merely related to timing, but otherwise we would've used A-1 no problem. I requested a quote through Yelp! and received a response with 24 hours. After getting a sense of what our project needs were, they had someone out at our home to bid the project within a few days! In this era of more work than contractors this was unexpected. I appreciated their willingness to address our needs even though we were not yet a confirmed client. They were friendly and incredibly easy to communicate with over phone and email. I would definitely look to use them for future needs! read more

When time came to remodel our bathroom, we decided to go with a smaller company. Curt was great at helping us find a product in our price range, and Chuck, the tile installer did a beautiful job. I've been recommending this company to all my friends for flooring related needs. Everyone was very personable, and we got exactly what we wanted on the first try! (If you ever had anything done in your house, you know what I mean by that...) read more

We chose A-1, upon recommendation, to help us with carpet & flooring for our 6 Preschool classrooms. Shelby came out right away to look at our space and even brought samples that first meeting. We were completely changing the look and the layout of the rooms and Shelby was invaluable! We trusted her recommendations and we are SO happy we did! They turned out even better than we imagined! Both Shelby & Lance made extra trips out to our facility to answer all of our questions and provide friendly, expert guidance! The installers that showed up were also very helpful & skillful in thinking through some issues they noticed due to an old building & previous work. That was so helpful & appreciated! I would highly recommend them to anyone! read more

Efficient and great service. Quick scheduling on the installation. Huge variety of carpeting. Would recommend A1. Reliable and trustworthy.

Curt and the team at A1 saved me! I had a house I needed to get on the market, and they were able to find carpet and vinyl for me, quickly available, and at a super price. The installation team were great, very meticulous, and happy to go the extra mile. I'd definitely recommend A1 Carpet and Tile!!! read more

I bought my first house recently and the carpet was a mess. I've never had to buy new carpet before so I didn't really know where to start. So I just figured I'd get as many bids as I could so I'd make sure I wasn't getting ripped off. A friend of mine had used A-1 to buy some tile and hardwood and got a good deal so I called them. Of the four bids I got the one from A-1 was by far the best deal, and I just felt comfortable with the owner because you could tell he knew what he was doing and had been around a long time. The installation went smooth, the carpet looks great and the final bill wasn't a dime more than what they told me when I got the bid. When I'm ready to redo my bathroom I'll definitely give A-1 a call first. read more

My boyfriend and I were in the middle of a bathroom remodel, for which we planned to do a majority of the work ourselves. We successfully tiled the bathroom floor on our own, but decided that the subway tile in our shower and soap niches would be far too intricate to do ourselves. Unfortunately, by the time we decided to call a professional tile installer, we only had 4 days before our tub was to be refinish (a process that we were told should be completed after the shower walls were tiled). I called 4 tile installers that were unable to book an appointment any sooner than 40 days out, and when I spoke with Curt from A-1 he said that he could get someone in within the next 2 days. The gentleman who did the installation was by far the most professional sub contractor that has ever been in my home. His communication was above and beyond, and he happily worked late and arrived early in order to get the job done on time. In the future, we will be going straight to A-1 for our tiling jobs! read more

They get three stars because the downstairs looks fine but our upstairs is horrible. Giant seam peaking in the middle of my bedroom, first thing you notice and 4 seams peaking throughout the upstairs hallway and in my sons bedroom. It is almost like they put the scrap pieces in the halls and in the bedroom, miss measured or just poor labor. Had them out to complain right away but pretty much was told, shit happens. If this seam was placed closer to the wall where the bed is, you wouldn't see it but every day I go into my room thinking "would this company accept THIS in their home, probably not". When picking out the carpet, the selection I was getting was not what I was looking for. When I went somewhere else and gave the samples I liked it was like I offended them and no longer did Michelle want to work with me. I should have gone with my gut and gone with Home Depot at that point. They are nice people but they don't really stand behind their work if there is a problem. It is upsetting. Saving money for a redo! read more
