Overall John's Diner was fine. Clean, bright. Waitress was very nice. I ordered the deluxe cheeseburger. She asked how I wanted it. I said medium. Food arrived quickly. Lettuce and tomato were fresh. Fries were good. Burger itself was just okay. Not a great quality burger. Thin, I assume a previously frozen food service burger. Hard to believe they can really accommodate different "cooks" other than I suppose medium or well done. Took a minute to get the check. I would eat here again if I had to. I am in the area occasionally for work. But I would not rearrange my schedule to accommodate it. read more

The atmosphere was so so. They were playing 80's music, but the utensils, were all plastic, paper plates, and paper cups. Did not get the "out to eat feel". Wow! Wrong choice. I Only have 3 grandchildren with me today. They wanted turkey burgers. So I ordered 3 deluxe turkey burgers with cheese, grilled onions. 10.50 each plus delivery and tax and some other fee I didn't understand but whatever. Went to eat here yesterday it was okay. I ordered a Philly cheesesteak and my bf got a chicken gyro. The fries were bomb but my philly was bland. They barely put any cheese on it and the bread was burnt. We both had the pink lemonade which I highly recommend. The waitstaff was good. Our waiter checked up on us a few times and offered refills. One downside to this place is that the bathrooms smelled really bad and didn't look very clean which was surprising because the inside of the restaurant looked very nice. read more

The food, is okay. Sometimes the french toast is not fully cooked and comes out soggy, the bacon is almost always burnt. The syrup packets are cheap and watered down. The dinner special cost is good but doesn't really have much flavor. The pizza shop next door is good. The service is pretty good depending on who is the waiter/waitress. I've changed sections twice before avoiding the guy with the mustache that seems to forget his job duties. The best breakfast meal here is the steak, poached eggs with home fries and orange juices :) Their coffee isn't that great either. They always forget something and the best part is I would order the same thing every time and yet the price would always change. Eh. John's Diner has always been a hit or miss for me. I usually get for breakfast fried eggs, home fries, and Pork sausage. The eggs and sausage are not too special. The home fries, however, are always dry and lack seasoning. Also, the portions vary incredibly. Today, I barely got any home fries. The corned beef hash is surprisingly tasty. For lunch/dinner, they're a little better. I get a Bacon cheeseburger with swiss cheese fries. I recommend getting the burger medium rare; it's so much juicer than a well done burger. Also, get the fries soft. They're delicious! The Wait staff is okay. I prefer the gentlemen over the woman except for John's family. They are very nice and personable. John's Diner is great if you're in the area with no other alternative or if you're lazy like me. read more

Went here Sunday morning. We were a group of 4, and waited for at least ten minutes, when another party arrived. This party was seated before we were, since it was apparent that they were probably regulars. When my husband told the owner that we had been waiting for a long time even before this party, and even the waitress said this was true, the owner rudely said "i dont reserve seats for anyone." 2 stars because the place has potential and was once my GO TO. If not, 1 star very easily. I used to love this Diner. It was my go to. However recently, the last few times I went, the service is sloppy. The food isn't great quality. My mom ordered a baked potato, but it was as hard as a rock and green inside. Her friend ordered veil and it was also as hard as a rock. The food isn't fresh. The service from staff could be better. They seem like they hate their job. So I frequent here often because the home fries are good and you get three eggs instead of two with an order. The other day like sometime last week I ordered my regular pork sausage sunny side up eggs and home fries. I'm just tired of the sloppiness. The eggs are always popped once I receive them. I live only a few blocks down. What are the delivery drivers doing? Are they BMX bikers? Secondly that order I received had not one but two hairs in it. And I know for a fact they weren't mine. I was looking for a diner in my area and I found this one by the train station Parkchester. The diner still has that old school feel the 2 people booths are small and a bit cramped. Service was a bit slow at first but the waitress was very nice. The breakfast specials are very cheap and filling. I'm not sure if they take cards here because I brought cash. I'm a regular here at johns diner though I never sit in and eat I always order for delivery or pickup. Almost everyday I order the same thing, a Bacon Sausage egg and cheddar cheese on a roll. On June 6, 2017 at 2:03 I called for my regular sandwich to be delivered and it arrived at 2:20. The chef who made this sandwich made the most godly breakfast sandwich I ever had In my life. Went to Johns this past weekend with my family. It was a little crowded but we were seated by John within 5 minutes! Omar our waiter is friendly and attentive.
