Upon ordering, the person at the desk mentioned to try the pork ribs, and I am glad I did! I had a hefty lunch that included getting Burnt Ends, Pork Ribs, Brisket, Mac & Cheese, and Apple Pie BBQ Baked Beans! The main highlights are below: Burnt Ends - Oh boy this had a lot of flavor and was very moist! This was definitely a delight to have. Pork Ribs - The staff was correct in ensuring I tried to Pork Rib. The pork fell right off the bone and was soooooo flavorful! I honestly could have had only pork ribs for my meal and feel 100% satisfied! Apple Pie BBQ Baked Beans - I was VERY surprised at this side. It had the right amount of sweet flavor to it and the taste was very unique. I sometimes do not finish a side of baked beans at the BBQ spot, but at this one, I ate it all! One comment I have for the brisket is that it is not as moist and more on the lean side, which is not as I typically like it, but the staff did indicate to me ahead of time that it is the style they typically prepare it, where people that are fans of more fat and moistness get the burnt ends. Melt-in-your-mouth tender barbecue! Best my husband's ever had..me too, but he's the excitable one! And he is a picky eater. John and Kenny are fabulous! We will make a point of stopping there whenever we are in this part of the country. If you're already in this part of the country it's definitely worth an hour drive but be sure you're there during the hours they're open. They're only open 11 to 1. The wife and I are long-haul truck driver. John's BBQ is across the street from the Love's truck stop. We always stop at the Love's. Tonight we tried John's BBQ. We had a rack of ribs. It was meaty and tender. We had the pulled pork. Tender and flavorful. The Cole slaw and beans we had for sides are top of the line. His BBQ sauce is so good we took a bottle on the truck with us. Just had a delicious pulled pork sandwich "Memphis style". It was absolutely delicious with a house salad and a thick homemade ranch dressing on the side. In the short time it took me to scarf down my sandwich I watched at least a half dozen pizzas go out the door. The staff made sure every customer inspected their order and was satisfied before leaving. Just a really good experience. My only regret is that I didn't have enough room to try the pizza. read more

Some of the best old fashioned BBQ you can put in your mouth !! The rib ends are like butter !! The pulled pork was nice and moist with a great smoke flavor,the potato salad was awesome !! Stopped in and so glad we did. Excellent service. Wonderful smiles. Some of the best barbeque's I have ever tasted. We ate in and had Brisket ,you all it was a melt in your mouth good. We originally stopped in because we noticed they sold No Man's Land beef jerky (my husband's hands down favorite), and we were happy to find some legit delicious brisket and excellent pizza! Let me start with the positive: The Good: When I first pulled up to the building, I was impressed. The exterior looked nice, the parking lot was clean, and the place was buzzing with activity. There were a lot of cars outside, and there was a line for seating, which let me know this place is pretty popular. Since I was in a bit of a hurry, I asked if I could place an order to-go, and they were more than happy to accommodate. I ordered the catfish dinner, which came with French fries, coleslaw, hush puppies, a warm buttered roll, and even a couple of beignets. The catfish was decent--not the best I've ever had (I've got a pretty high bar for that), but it was tasty enough that I'd go back if I had the chance. The hush puppies were on point, and I appreciate that they didn't skimp on the portions. The inside of the restaurant was decorated with a cute, Ozark-lake theme, which added a charming touch. They also have a small gift shop with reasonably priced, locally made souvenirs, which I thought was a nice bonus. The young lady who took my order was polite, had a sweet smile, and was very friendly--definitely added to the positive experience. The Not-So-Good: Now for the part I don't like writing--the negatives. While I don't like focusing on the bad, there are some things that need to be addressed, particularly the cleanliness. The condition of the bathroom was a letdown, to say the least. There was a disposable toilet seat cover with feces on it lying on the floor, and that was enough to make me do a double take. On top of that, the door handles, doorjambs, and the entryways into the kitchen looked like they hadn't been properly wiped down in a while. There was a vent cover in the men's bathroom that was in rough shape, and, most importantly, there was no soap available to wash your hands. For a busy place like this, you'd think they'd be on top of those things. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but it's definitely a concern that needs to be addressed for the sake of cleanliness. Final Thoughts: All in all, the food was decent, the prices were good, and the staff was friendly. The bathroom situation didn't ruin the experience for me, but it's something that definitely needs improvement. I would go back again if I'm in the area, but I hope they address these issues for the sake of future customers.
