First time to stop. Pass by here frequently on my way to Eufaula and finally tried out the BBQ. It is really good!! They give you a sampler boat of the meats to try before you buy. The turkey was awesome, as well as the burnt ends, pulled pork and hot links! The hot links are HOT! Ribs were already sold out. Going to call ahead next time to reserve a slab of ribs. John was so nice and friendly too! I enjoyed talking to him a lot! I'm going to eventually try everything on the menu, it is that good! If you ever pass by this way, stop and get some of the best BBQ ever from John! He's located right next to the Love's off I-40! You will be glad you did!

Driving down the road, we checked the app iExit to see what was ahead. We were pulling a 31' Airstream, so we needed it to be convenient and most of all worth pulling over for. I telephoned ahead and the owner directed me on the best place to park. Believe me, it was with pulling over for! I had sliced brisket & pork tenderloin, while my husband had the sliced Turkey & pulled pork. We got to taste his hot links and if you like a touch of fire, these hot links will keep you wanting more. You can just take it to go on the way to the lake, or eat in, like we did. It's not fancy, but it's good, the folks are friendly, and the prices are reasonable. I had a brisket and pork tenderloin plate with slaw and beans and Texas toast. There were no leftovers. I would stop here again if I was coming through the area. I liked the hot BBQ sauce too. I'm not going to say it was the best brisket I've ever had, but it was tender and good, especially with some of the BBQ sauce. The pork tenderloin stood out as the best meat on the plate. The Cole slaw was very fresh and tasty. I don't normally order baked beans, but the available sides were limited so I got some -- and was glad I did. They were quite good. You can tell the locals like this place. read more

Stop for diesel at Love's and noticed this place. We parked the truck and trailer. We ordered the turkey sandwich, pulled pork sandwich and brisket sandwich with chips, beans and slaw. We loved it all. My wife's said it was a great turkey sandwich. I loved the brisket sandwich and the slaw had a little sweetness to it which is awesome. Next time we travel the 40, we will be coming back. Highly recommended for lunch and a fill up. read more

Wasn't sure from the looks of the outside but either it's going to be amazing or really bad. Yelp reviews usually don't fail me, and with all the other 5 star reviews, we decided to try it. It was really good! I got the turkey sandwich and it was perfect! The BBQ sauce was great, ended up buying some and the rub! He also gave us garlic sauce that we used to dip with the chips and it was amazing! Definitely will make this a stop on our way to/from Eufaula. read more

Wow! This is an incredible place. It is the definition of a hole in the wall. There was only 8 to 10 bar stools in the whole place. When I walked in there was only one open seat. The guy behind the counter looked at me and said "boy you from around here are yah?" I said nope, and he put a sample of meat in front of me and said try this. I knew I had found a true gem. I sat down to eat with total strangers, but it felt like I was eating with family. The meat was all incredible, best bologna, burnt ends, and hot links I have eaten. The beans were great, and the coleslaw was also good. When I left, I felt like I just left a sacred place. read more

The delicious smells drifting from the smoker drew us in and we were more than satisfied. Quick, friendly service at the window, samples of the fantastic foods and generous servings! We ordered pulled pork, smoked Turkey and the loaded potato with brisket plus sampled the hot links. The beans and slaw were spot on. Do NOT pass by here when they're open! We stopped through on our way home from a cross country trip, and absolutely loved the BBQ. It's a carry out style restaurant, meaning everything is served to go. You are welcome to eat in if you'd like, but it's a byod or you can buy a canned soda. We sampled: pulled pork, brisket, smoked turkey, and the burnt ends. Everything was DELICIOUS. Pricing was reasonable as well ($14 for 2 meat combos with two sides) and the best part: the people who run the place. Every one that came in and ordered, they made sure you looked at your order to make sure it was what you wanted and looked good, "so that you don't get down the road and it's not right". read more

We stopped in for dinner tonight. This place was delicious. We had the pulled pork sandwich with cole slaw on it. Really good. We tried samples of the smoked bologna, burnt ends and sausage. Everything was excellent and I actually liked the bologna the best wow!! John and Kenny made us feel right at home. There's no indoor seating except a few seats at the counter so you may need to get it to go. We ate at the counter which was great. Guys when you're coming to Destin to vacation stop through Ft Walton Beach and see us at TOPS Hamburgers. We'll try to return the hospitality. read more

It sounds like their food is tasty but after parking a big truck and then walking across the street in a toad strangler of a thunderstorm they wouldn't let me inside and wanted me to make my order standing at the drive-through window in the rain. I don't believe I'll be back. read more

There's even a Eufaula Museum across from Mama Tigs. We sat at the window facing the street. The table was made from a slice of a tree with the bark visible, but it was shellacked, of course. There were about a dozen options for pizza or you could create your own. There were some other menu options but we were there for the pizza. We chose number 5 ("The Erin") which had sliced meatballs and fire-roasted peppers (sweet not spicy). SO GOOD!! It reminded me of pizza we get from a Brooklyn Italian family-owned restaurant in our small town of Haslet. The cheese and the crust... We also got a side salad with house made ranch. This side salad had leafy mixed greens, sliced cucumbers, radishes (which my husband loved!), shredded carrots, and grape tomatoes. We almost missed dessert but decided to get a cannoli. It was delicious as well. Everything was simple and so tasty. The owner, or who I assume was the owner, was serving another table and asked if they were passing through. They live in Northwest Arkansas and Mama Tigs is their usual lunch spot (there are a few other locations). The owner said most people are visiting the nearby lake or passing through to Branson, when I said "That's what we're doing." We chatted a bit more with the owner and discovered they had lived in DFW at one time. Small world. Great place! Friendly staff! Excellent, wood-fired pizza! Be sure to stop in. Melt-in-your-mouth tender barbecue! Best my husband's ever had..me too, but he's the excitable one! And he is a picky eater. John and Kenny are fabulous! We will make a point of stopping there whenever we are in this part of the country. If you're already in this part of the country it's definitely worth an hour drive but be sure you're there during the hours they're open. They're only open 11 to 1. We have been traveling in a big truck for 7 days and have been from Alabama to Arizona to Colorado and when heading home we stoped to get a shower and some food and saw this funky little bar-b-q joint across the road and decided to give it try was worth the extra time we spent there the pulled pork was amazing but for me the star was the baked beans I highly recommend them to anyone you will have missed something wonderful if you pass by this place the people were super friendly all and all 5 read more

The wife and I are long-haul truck driver. John's BBQ is across the street from the Love's truck stop. We always stop at the Love's. Tonight we tried John's BBQ. We had a rack of ribs. It was meaty and tender. We had the pulled pork. Tender and flavorful. The Cole slaw and beans we had for sides are top of the line. His BBQ sauce is so good we took a bottle on the truck with us. If you are traveling on I-40 through OK you owe it to yourself to stop at exit 221 and try this restaurant. read more

Just had a delicious pulled pork sandwich "Memphis style". It was absolutely delicious with a house salad and a thick homemade ranch dressing on the side. In the short time it took me to scarf down my sandwich I watched at least a half dozen pizzas go out the door. The staff made sure every customer inspected their order and was satisfied before leaving. Just a really good experience. My only regret is that I didn't have enough room to try the pizza. read more

Some of the best old fashioned BBQ you can put in your mouth !! The rib ends are like butter !! The pulled pork was nice and moist with a great smoke flavor,the potato salad was awesome !! Stopped in and so glad we did. Excellent service. Wonderful smiles. Some of the best barbeque's I have ever tasted. We ate in and had Brisket ,you all it was a melt in your mouth good. It was also very clean. so if your this way give your taste buds a thrill. The only thing I found bad was I live to far a way . If you want great bbq and nice people then you have to stop at John's bar b q. Had the burnt end sandwich and couldn't get any better. Sampled the ribs and turkey and both were also on point. The turkey had a solid smoke flavor and was moist. Something very rare to find. This can be considered a destination place to eat. Absolutely amazing. read more

We originally stopped in because we noticed they sold No Man's Land beef jerky (my husband's hands down favorite), and we were happy to find some legit delicious brisket and excellent pizza!
