Update: I gave this place another try. We had good service, affordable meals and the food was better this go round. Based on other reviews, we had high hopes for our lunch at Don Ciro's, but we were a little disappointed. The positives were the prices were reasonable, anhe salsa was quite good, and the sopapillas were very good. The rest of the food was just ok. A little lacking in flavor and not quite hot enough in my opinion. The service started out good, but by the end, we were left waiting at our table for quite some time. read more

Unlike what you may have seen on the TV series "Yellowstone," if you get taken to the train station in Seminole; it's a good thing! Don Ciro's occupies the old Seminole railroad station. The old building has been preserved and is now a nicely decorated Mexican restaurant. Of all of the rundown, repurposed buildings that I have visited across N.E. Oklahoma, which are now Mexican restaurants, this is the coolest building of them all! It is worth a visit just to see the structure; the great Mexican food is a bonus. The restaurant is nicely decorated. The service is excellent. The mild salsa was freshly made, just delivered from the blender. Tomatoes (fresh tomatoes, not cooked or canned), cilantro, maybe some onion and that was it. A little too mild and a little to watery for most hard core OkieMex gourmands. The picante salsa had more body and spice; it was great. Queso also comes with the chips. It was tasty, but a little thinner viscosity then I would have preferred. Even as depicted, I still enjoyed it all. The cups were empty at the end of the meal. The menu pictures sold the meals. I spotted the # 39 Combination Plate (tamale, crisp taco, an enchilada and beans and rice) a delicious looking "way too much" plate of food. My wife was drawn to the # 22 Comelon (carne asada torta with two carne asada tacos.) Let's start with the #22. Having just finished chewing the first bite of the taco, my wife declared it to be the "best taco she had ever had." The excellent meat, fresh toppings, along with the radish and lime slice on the side persuaded her proclamation. Her predicament now was, she had a tremendous sized, meat filled torta untouched on her plate. Declaring her plan "no way was the other taco going to be left behind." What ever is left of the torta can ride home. Oh yeah, it too was declared the best torta. The two cups of salsa that came with the meal (different than the table sauce) were the perfect condiments. My Combination Plate was equally delicious, from the spicy ground beef in the crispy taco, to the flavorful chicken in the enchilada and tamale. The beans were above average! Great food in a cool old building. Ask for a ride to the train station; the food is "on track." read more

Loved it! We were in the area and excited to eat at Don Ciro's. We ordered a giant trough of food for two. It was called the parrillada and was amazing. Salsa was tasty. Great service. Nice ambiance. This is why I love Yelp. Places like this would have never crossed my radar if not for Yelp. Driving out to a retreat in the area, we stopped in to get lunch and check out the local Tex-Mex restaurant. The first thing you notice is the awesome old-school buckaroo (cowboy) photos on the walls. Then you're greeted with very prototypical, but delicious, complimentary chips, salsa and house-made tortillas. You can tell the staff takes a lot of pride in what they do, and everything from the tamales to the fajitas were at the top of the craft. I'd say to swing in if you're ever passing through. We were traveling through Seminole, Oklahoma on our way to Denton and found this place for lunch. Situated in the downtown area, which is marked by red brick streets, at the bottom of a hill in an old railroad station repurposed to this amazing restaurant. My wife had a Gordita, which is a delicious soft fried corn tortilla sort of stuffed with taco meat and fixings. The refried beans were flavorful and the Gordita was different enough from any other she had to make it memorable. I had...don't remember the name, started with an M. But it was basically a chicken fajita with bacon on top and then melted cheese. It was flavorful, though I couldn't detect seasoning on the fajita chicken meat - but still the mix of flavors was unique. It was a fun stop at a place you'd expect the usual local dives or blah chain chains - perfect setting with the brick streets, old train station - fun. read more

I love that they have street tacos and tortas, I never seen that in a Mexican restaurant, usually just American style hard or soft tacos, so we dined in and called in an order about a week later. Not sure where the good reviews are coming from. This place is no bueno. The "white cheese" they advertise on their front door is watered down. It wouldn't be so bad if they'd use milk to thin it out instead of water. It was tasteless. Their salsa is bland except for the freezer burn aftertaste you get from it. Chips were greasy, cold, and half of them were stale. They use cheap imitation shredded cheese. Their "fresh" tortillas are store bought; you can tell by the smell. Didn't even taste them. Overall, the food is poor quality and lacks flavor. Don't waste your time or money. We surely won't again. read more

Sorry, guys. I'm only giving this restaurant 2 stars because I thought the food was bland. I ordered the burrito lunch special. My wife ordered the enchilada lunch special. I tried hers as well, and I thought that was bland too. The food just didn't have any flavor. Maybe I'm spoiled by Ted's Escondido? Maybe the dinner menu would have been different? If I could give this place a negative star, I would. Went on a Sunday after church. It wasn't super crowded, but we ordered a Mexican dish and a chicken fried steak. They took over 30 minutes to bring my chicken fry, mashed potatoes, and corn...and it was cold! It tasted terrible(probably because it was cold). My wife's food showed up 10 minutes later!
