Id give no stars if i could!! I took my granddaughters to eat at this establishment!! I ordered fajitas to share with one of my granddaughters. I hit there tortillas with my meal. My grandfather had two and i had one! I sat there waiting to get the waitresses attention as she wanted by me multiple times! A finally i walked to the register and asked for more! The cashier told me "Can't you see we're busy"!! i went back to the booth and waited for 7 more minutes until my Food was cold! they came as i was getting up leave and i told her i don't feel like i should have to pay for a meal that sat could! she threatened to call the police if i didn't Pay!! I used to enjoy this place, but the disrespect how they treated my son and I when he pulled out his federally recognized CDIB card while being back on military leave blew my mind. Such a welcoming little place! I loved the decor and chairs. I was passing through while travemling and needed some lunch. I was greeted promptly and then was quickly given complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are a tad thicker than most in the most delicious way. As I enjoyed my carnitas nachos, the staff took great care of me without being overbearing. The nacos themselves were fantastic. I couldn't finish my meal, so I got a box to go and they packed me a salsa to go as well! I put one star because I couldn't select zero!! The food was terrible, cold, hard, and not as described on the menu. I ordered a torta and it was served without a bun. Instead, it had a corn tortilla on the top and bottom. In the picture, it showed a bun, like it should be. When I asked about it, the waitress shrugged her shoulders. Don't let the name fool you, this is far more than a taco stand and is absolutely the best Mexican restaurant in Shawnee. The owners have done a great job transforming this little strip center space into a very pleasant restaurant and it is extremely clean. The menu is more extensive than most in its offerings. First many of the dishes offer a choice of meats: carne asada (steak), carnitas (shredded pork) pastor marinated pork) grilled chicken, chorizo, lingual, (beef tongue) and buche (pork stomach). You can get breakfast all day, and besides the usual things they have lesser found items like soles, tortas, menudo, and caldo 7 mares. The four street taco plate is popular with your choice of meat of fresh tortillas, topped with cilantro and chopped onion. I usually get either the asada or the pork pastor, both are very tasty. I also like the chile relleno. I prefer these made with grilled poblanos without a coating, here the batter is very light. I get them with cheese and verde sauce. They usually come coated in queso. The enchiladas in mole sauce are a nice change from my usual Tex mex cheese enchiladas with chili con carne. I prefer them with grilled chicken. The Burrito El Patron is massive and filled with about everything you'd expect, and then topped with their queso. It's very good if your wanting a big meal. The shrimp are big and cleaned. I'm pretty sure all of these reviews are fake. My husband and I have tried all the Mexican food restaurants in town and this is by far the worst. Here's just a few things we experienced: hot margaritas, one plate brought to the table at a time, falsely advertised menu items that you're expected to pay for and faulty card machine(we had to leave to go get cash).
