Food was good, service was great and the whole place had a family atmosphere. There are no booths all tables, and a Coca Cola decor.

Great Mexican omelet with crispy hash browns and a flaky biscuit and gravy!!!

My go to place for breakfast when I come to the Woody Guthrie Festival in Okemah, OK. Great good! Welcoming greeting when walking in. I'll be back for sure! Great omelets! Fresh fruits! Hot delicious coffee!

What a great, classic breakfast spot! We were hitting the road and decided this would be a good spot and glad we went! Amazing service!!! Good food, fun atmosphere, very local vibe, and great prices.

It's a no thrills yet simple, welcoming atmosphere with that classic 50's vibe diner with small hometown feel. The staff here is super friendly as if you are at a gathering amongst family & friends. Wife enjoyed the lite breakfast and I enjoyed the 2 egg breakfast with bacon, hash browns and Texas toast. Eggs were cooked to our specs, bacon crisp and tasty and hash browns wasn't over cooked. If passing through definitely recommend stopping by for relaxing eats, very affordable

Nice little cafe/diner. Good selection of breakfast, sandwich, and dinner options. We got a cheeseburger kid's meal, chicken strip kid's meal, steak and eggs breakfast, chicken fried chicken dinner, and kitty's chicken bites. All were pretty good, but of the three chicken (all different, but fried) the bites were the best tasting. Staff was friendly and prompt. Good place to stop.

    Coke everywhere! !

The fries also were overcooked and most were left in the basket. The server did her best to be pleasant. The booth seats were "repaired" with orange duct tape on them. I can appreciate a tasteful amount of uplifting quotes and religious passages in a place of business, but the owners took it to an extreme. Virtually on every wall--even in the bathroom--was another scripture or some religious advice. Too much is just too much.

Small town, friendly service, comfort food diner. Recognized for having the "Best Hamburger in…read moreHenryetta." I can't comment on the hamburger other than the ones I saw on another diner's table. They looked old school fantastic. We had the catfish basket and the Mona's Chicken basket. There were generous portions in each meal and unquestionably freshly made. The baskets come with one side option. Mona's has a lot to choose from. My wife had the okra and an extra side of Mac and Cheese with her basket. I had the house made onion rings. I didn't care for the Mona's Chicken. Instead of strips of chicken breast, it was small bite sized chunks. It was just too much breading. After a few bites I ordered a side of cream gravy for dipping. That improved the meal. The catfish had a nice crust, moist inside, but the flavor was a little off. Okra, mac and cheese, average. Hushpuppies excellent. And then there were the Onion Rings. These were excellent. Large fresh, wide rings of sweet onion lightly battered, then fried to perfection. Crispy crunchy on the outside and crisp fresh onion on the inside. Onion rings are mandatory with any meal here. Probably the perfect meal here is the Burger and the Rings. But there's more. Fried pies filled with fruits that represent most of the colors in a rainbow. I couldn't pass them up for tomorrow's breakfast. Peach, Apple, Cherry and Apricot all went home with us. Great with this morning's cup of coffee. I bet they are even better when served hot and fresh in the diner.

My friend TJ3 experienced a similar showing on a recent road trip to Oklahoma City to watch an NBA playoff game between the Grizz and Thunder. It was the morning after the game, and after a few hours of sleep, we hit the road. Our voices were hurting from 48 minutes of cheering. We had to get home. We passed on the overpriced breakfast in the overpriced Renaissance hotel. After an hour on the road, I was starved. TJ3 had a conference call he had to take. He was hungry, too. The sign on the exit said "Biscuit Hill" something or another. Yelp showed nothing. Sounded perfect to me. So we stopped, pulled past a truck stop, and parked next to the only other car in the "area" for parking. I say that because the parking lot is basically an extension of the truck stop, although the restaurant is not connected to the truck stop. It's a dive. It's run down. It's dirty. I was starving. The sign says Biscuit Hill, but a sign in the half-broken front door says "Kay's Country Diner." Ahh, we have new ownership! I sat down at a table of 6 even though there were only two of us. I figured that was not a problem because there were 4 people in the entire restaurant: Ed W., TJ3, the friendly employee and a man drinking coffee by himself at a table that sat 10. I figured party size to table capacity ratio was not a real big deal for this place. I asked who I learned was Danielle what was good on the menu, and she said the breakfast burrito and the omelets. So that was easy. I had the burrito, TJ3 had an omelet. Danielle turned, walked in the kitchen, and within seconds started cooking. Yes, she was the hostess, cashier, waitress, bus boy and cook. I heard lard and/or something hit the griddle and the sizzling sounds began. Nice. And with that, TJ3 was outside pacing the parking lot for his conference call while I had nothing to do but soak in this soon-to-be Yelp first review. I needed some story. So who better to ask than the man sitting by himself, aka Gary. Gary explained that the restaurant had been around since the 60's. It looked like it. The walls were dirty, the furniture was a mish mash. There was a small television behind some counter stools that I believe may have been used on the television show Alice in Mel's Diner. Gary talked about different names of the spot, including The Hoe Down, but now it was Kay's. Danielle later filled in the blanks. Kay had owned it twice, one in the 90's, and now 3 months ago she bought it again. She brought back the old menu, and specializes in good ole home country cooking. "Hamburger patty, hand breaded chicken fries, homemade biscuits and gravy, homemade mashed potatoes" she said when asked what she enjoyed serving. I think I'll be stopping here again soon. TJ3 inhaled his omelet. My breakfast burrito was gigantic, and was heavy on the meat, light on the eggs. It included chunks of potatoes, jalapeno and other peppers, onion and cheese to go along with the voluminous portion of sausage and scrambled eggs. I like this spot and give it 4 stars because it's not trying to hide what it is. It's a hole in the wall. It's limited on beauty but makes up for it in kindness and food taste. So if you're in the area and starving, make a stop to this dive outside of Shawnee. If you can look beyond the grit and grime, I think you'll like what you find. Four stars.

Brisket Pulled Pork Smoked Turkey Pork Ribs Hot Links and finally... Smoked Baloney. Potato Salad, White Mac and Cheese, Texas Toast, Pickle and Onion. Everything was smoked perfectly - even the baloney, which surprised both of us eating there - and absolutely tender. The meats aren't dripping in sauce which is often used to moisten a bad cook or to disguise poor flavors. Nope. If you want a saucy meal, it's a "self-inflicted wound" in my books, because you're missing out on some great well cooked meat. We didn't go there for side options, so reviewing them isn't the point. I did not see either a Corn Bread or a Biscuit choice which I would have chosen, but took the usual's just to see how they're done at Rustlers. I'm not a banana for dessert fan, that is, until my dinner guest forced me to have some of Rustlers Banana Pudding. I am now a rabid fan of banana's for dessert. Yes, it's that good.
