No words needed, their facial expressions signaled frustration and displeasure. The nice lady delivered menus to our table and straightaway warned "We are shorthanded. If you are in a hurry, you should go somewhere else." I thanked her and we left. So, I didn't try the food, but I really appreciate the honesty. They were, so I got a baked potato instead. It was a good choice. The okra was fried to perfection and the serving was so large I had to leave half. I liked that I was able to order a small portion of chicken fried steak. The cream gravy is why I order chicken fried steak and this cream gravy did not disappoint. My cousin got the special which included soup, salad, and a sandwich. My other cousin got a chef salad. We all enjoyed our lunch and looking at the decorations. Let me start with the positive: The Good: When I first pulled up to the building, I was impressed. The exterior looked nice, the parking lot was clean, and the place was buzzing with activity. The condition of the bathroom was a letdown, to say the least. There was a disposable toilet seat cover with feces on it lying on the floor, and that was enough to make me do a double take. On top of that, the door handles, doorjambs, and the entryways into the kitchen looked like they hadn't been properly wiped down in a while. There was a vent cover in the men's bathroom that was in rough shape, and, most importantly, there was no soap available to wash your hands. For a busy place like this, you'd think they'd be on top of those things. It wasn't a dealbreaker for me, but it's definitely a concern that needs to be addressed for the sake of cleanliness. Final Thoughts: All in all, the food was decent, the prices were good, and the staff was friendly. The bathroom situation didn't ruin the experience for me, but it's something that definitely needs improvement. I would go back again if I'm in the area, but I hope they address these issues for the sake of future customers.
