Came here for dinner and had the chicken fried steak special, it was delicious! Substituted the green beans (yes cooked with bacon) for the salad. My sons and I decided to stop by and have dinner here. I was pleasantly surprised. I had the hot roast beef and it was superb. My boys had the bacon cheeseburger and the kitty's chicken platter and they were cooked to perfection. The service was prompt and very friendly. Great little diner! Very clean and well maintained. Wait staff was super friendly. Food was awesome. I had a BLT and fried pickles. My husband had calf fries and the chicken fried steak. My kids had pancakes and biscuits and gravy. All good stuff! Sweet tea was perfect. They also had a cute little pickle bar. You must try the pickled green tomatoes! This place is small, but filled with good food and good people. Ever year or so I try to travel back to Oklahoma and visit my sister. This is one of her and my brother in laws favorite hang outs in their home town, and now one of mine as well when I go back to visit. The place has a certain comfortable feel, and the service is warm and sincere. Home style cook meals that are priced very reasonably. For what they do, i would have to say they are the best in town for sure. read more

We were returning to DFW from Eureka Springs, AR, and drove 30 min out of our way to grab dinner here just to avoid having to eat at the chain restaurants aroung Stringtown and Atoka. So glad we did! Classic diner food (green beans cooked with bacon!) served by friendly staff in a clean place, surrounded by kitschy, Coke-themed atmosphere and terrific 50's music. This is a perfectly lovely diner for the world's most depressing town, Henryetta, OK (where Taco Bells atrophy into Taco Kings and then wither away to Donut Palaces). I had the hamburger steak -- very fresh, but bland, ground chuck. For God's sake, don't make the cow do all the work. Break out some garlic powder and Worcestershire, at least. The side salad was flaccid -- stop serving this, it makes people hate fresh vegetables. The sweetest young ladies in the world work here and ALL use the one restroom between 7:30 and 8 pm. Plan accordingly. Listen, it's a long haul from Shawnee to Muskogee. You could do far worse than this earnest establishment. Like the Pig Out Palace in the same town. We're driving thru & thanks to Yelp we found this place. Portions are perfectly sized. We had the chicken fried steak which is hand breaded & piping hot. Very small buffet. What was on the buffet was very good home cooked southern food. You had three meats to choose from and three vegetables and two desserts. Now the chicken and dumplings were gross they had a very weird taste to them. Everything else was wonderful. This is the SECOND small town diner we have tried to stop at today who's hours say they are open when they are NOT. The Diner was convenient to I40, easy off and easy on. Service was quick, friendly and efficient. Our meals met our expectations. The roast beef on the hot beef sandwiches was very tender, and the gravy was homemade as well as the mashed potatoes. Restrooms were clean. This is the best country food I have had on the road. I had the big Classic. It was 3 eggs 2 bacon 1 sausage hash browns and a pan cake. The eggs cooked just like I told them the sausage was a big party not a small one the hash browns were light and cooked thru. I will eat here again. Most excellent food. read more

Friendly staff and clean. Breakfast was good and very fairly priced. Gravy was from a mix and rather bland. Sausage was well seasoned and they serve two large patties. They close at 2 on Saturday and closed all day Sunday rather than being closed all day Saturday as Yelp stated. read more

Well, after reading the great reviews, we had to go there. First of all, we went for a fathers day breakfast...no oldies music was playing, had to feed jukebox, an the food was not all that! You all must not have had a REAL home-cooked meal...js. Hash browns were not completely done an the sausage in the omelettes were in squares. To top it all off, they couldn't break a $100 bill an I went to the car where my bunch is at, to see if they had change, an the owner goes out there to take a picture of our tags...wtf! He claimed our cars looked like his wifes an wanted to show her. He totally gave us the impression that we were going to leave without paying. He sed his wife didn't leave a check an had no cash...dude, you have to go to bank anyway, enough said...we will NEVER go back to the Classic Diner!!! read more

Nearly could not find the place because of an incorrect address, but definitely worth the hunt. Located on 106 Lake Road just off of Main Street, the place is precisely as described: a classic diner. The food is high quality and fresh, the wait staff is friendly and efficient, and our meals, ( a patty melt and and a ham and Swiss omelette) were prepared perfectly.
