I had been wanting to visit Johnny Manhattan's for years. Having grown up in the area, I couldn't believe I'd never been -- so we decided to go for my son's birthday. Unfortunately, it was a major disappointment, and I won't be returning. The atmosphere was fantastic -- it truly has that classic, old-school supper club feel I was hoping for. Sadly, the poor service overshadowed nearly everything else. We never received bread for the table, our drinks sat empty for long stretches, a martini glass was accidentally dropped and shattered on our table, and two of our five meals arrived missing their sides. The food itself was good, but not great. My son's pizza was undercooked -- the crust couldn't even hold up the cheese and pepperoni. The ribs were lackluster, the fries never showed up, and while my steak was decent, it too was missing a side. The remaining dishes at our table came out correctly and were fine, but by that point we'd been waiting well over an hour and didn't have the patience to request fixes. Overall, the food quality was okay for the area, but not worth the price or frustration. I'd suggest driving a little farther for a better dining experience.

Beautiful restaurant that accommodates a large number of customers both for dining and cocktail lounging. Very welcoming entry door, parking lot, ramp with railings, restroom, and smooth navigation inside of the restaurant for cane or walker dependent customers. A generous menu of assorted food choices and appetizers. Friendly hostess and waitstaff. Great bartenders. Special occasion dinner or just an evening out with a friend are handled well here. Delicious Veal Johnnys entree followed by a turtle sundae was my delight for the night.

Was here for a work meeting, had the private room! Lovely ambiance in the restaurant - HUGE and open! Private room was great, intimate and perfect for our group. I got the pork chop duo. It was THE BEST PORK CHOP IVE EVER HAD! You must must must order. Great spot!!!!

We had an incredible dining experience here. Table of 5 sober got to try alot of dishes. The brandy old fashioned were perfect. The server was attentive and friendly and we actually got our own private room. We highly recommend the haystack onion strings and the cheese curd appetizers. The remoulade (?) sauce with the strings was fantastic. One of our diners had the lasagna. It was absolutely enormous and came with a salad and what he described as the best garlic bread ever. He also said the lasagna was the best he's ever had. He's a big eater and barely ate half his meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly and had an amazing char. The baked potato and the hash brown casserole were both great. We added side scallops and they were huge and tasty. Great meal. Hope to be back soon as there were at least 10 dishes that sound amazing.

We had a wonderful experience at Johnny Manhattan's. The setting is very beautiful - located in the scenic Holy Hill area. Inside the restaurant you'll feel like you're at a swanky steak house. I ordered the lasagna- it was possibly the best I have ever had. The portion was huge and it came with a delicious salad and a slice of tasty garlic bread. My significant ordered the pork chops- he said it was the best he had ever had. We definitely recommend this restaurant!

Should be medium well done steak in the photo. What do you think?

The dining room is comfortable and inviting, and the kind of place where you instantly feel relaxed. One of the biggest strengths here is the service. Every visit, the staff has been consistently friendly and attentive. It genuinely feels like you're being welcomed in by family. The Relish bar is also a fantastic touch. Only $5 per person and stocked with a variety of fresh vegetables, meats, cheeses, and other accompaniments. It's a great value and adds to the overall supper club experience. As for the food, meals have consistently tasted fresh, scratch-made, and thoughtfully prepared. We've tried multiple pasta dishes and seafood entrees over several visits, and they've all been excellent. A couple chicken dishes especially stood out. The chicken was honestly some of the most tender I've ever had. The only item that missed the mark was the ribs. They were very tender overall, but the silver skin hadn't been removed, which created some chewiness and hurt the texture a bit. Other than that, we've had consistently great experiences here. Between the welcoming atmosphere, excellent service, and quality homemade food, this has become one of our favorite local spots.

Cozy atmosphere and solid customer service, definitely in the right place. We arrived with a veteran couple. They got us there early, understood the ordering routine and found us a place to sit. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Definitely get the onion rings as they are incredible! Drinks were solidly poured and reasonably priced. We ordered and were surprised by how quickly we were seated. The vegetable tray and bread basket were good. Our meals came out shortly after we were seated. The salads were nice sized and the blue cheese dressing with crumbles was great. Our entrees (ribeye, tenderloin with chicken, prime rib and fish) were all sized nicely and prepared as ordered. My dining partner said the chicken was some of their all-time favorite. My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Our dining partners loved their choices. Overall, I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, but my pals at Yelp still don't trust half stars. We all enjoyed our experience and will definitely put this on our list of supper clubs to return to!

It's an iconic spot that still seems to have a strong following of loyal customers. We came with another couple who also have a long history of dining here. Food: It is most definitely a traditional supper club, but without the relish tray. The menu has a large selection of seafood, steaks, salads, and a few other assorted entrées. We settled on a rib steak for me and the scallops and pasta for her. Before the entrées, we each had a side salad, which came with a couple of nice-sized loaves of warm bread. A delicious start to the meal. The entrées arrived without much delay. The rib steak was cooked to my liking, medium rare, and had nice flavor. It was a little tough, but I'm the kind of person who doesn't mind a bit of chew. My wife would not have enjoyed it. Her scallops and pasta were good; however, there was the occasional bit of sand grit. Both meals had good flavor and portions large enough to require to-go containers. Service: We had terrific service the entire evening. I would say that Lisa was the most kind and helpful server I've had here. She made sure we were well cared for, kept our drinks refreshed, and checked that everything was to our liking. Thanks, Lisa. Atmosphere: To me, it doesn't seem like much has changed over the last 40 years. The place has received a lot of TLC. It has a genuine warmth to it. The rooms, and there are many, have character and classic charm. I'm not a big fan of the "buy one, get one" pricing. I understand that restaurants have to charge enough to make money, no issue there. For me, simply stating the price for each meal would be my preference. It's still a wonderful, iconic restaurant that we love to return to.

I don't think my youngest was super enthused by his pizza, mostly because it's not memorable to him. My oldest liked his chicken strips and fries, but I don't know if he's come across chicken strips and fries that he doesn't like, so take that with a grain of salt. The hash browns were ok. They were just fried potato with no other flavor or add-in like onions. I added salt and pepper because they needed it. I got American cheese on the scrambled eggs and they were as you'd expect. The tenderloin was fine. Obviously not as good of a cut as New York strip or ribeye would have been. I ended up sharing a portion of it with my oldest and he ate it without complaints too. The star of our visit was the coffee cake. It was warm and soft and in every sense perfect. Sharing is carrying and I'm fine sharing with my kids most of the time, but man, I wish it had been all for me.

There is a ton of history on the wall, and we enjoyed the wall displays of old guns and equipment. They start you off with 3 different salads. You think "What? 3?" Yes, three, and pretty generous portions of them. There was a 3 bean salad, a pea salad, and another one, and all of them were very tasty. We tried not to leave any behind. We ordered their jalapeño cheese curds as an appetizer. The cheese curds were good, but we couldn't taste much jalapeño zing in them. The salad came out - it was what I'd call a basic steakhouse salad. Nothing fancy. I ordered their baked french onion soup - that was very good, with the cheese liberally applied over the top of the bread in the top, and plenty of tasty onions inside. For the main course, my wife had their fried fish, which was plentiful along with Au Gratin potatoes and cole slaw. I had their filet mignon, which was very tasty, seemed to be dry aged, and was sooo tender, with a baked potato. As much as we would have liked to order dessert, it wasn't in the cards. Dinner was more than filling enough. Would we come back? Oh yes we would. The service was excellent, the food was tasty, and the restaurant had a lot of interesting things to look at on the inside. We ordered a couple of appetizers including the meatballs, and a sampler plate with fried mushrooms, duck strips, chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks. Our entrees included the filet, rib steak, bbq ribs, scampi, and french dip. The appetizers were okay. Not a fan of all the heavily fried items. The meatballs were tasty and probably the best of the items. (although the presentation was not very appetizing). We also got served warm bread sticks, and honestly I love warm bread but they seemed over warmed and tough. I did not finish mine. My Lobster was very good. The other parts of the meal were subpar. The salad seemed whilty and the vegetable medley was over cooked and flavorless. Tried some of the items. The filet, and rib steak were both excellent. The bbq ribs were okay, but a little overcooked (i like to have a little chew). They stopped over with the dessert tray and were very persuasive. Did save a little room for the Peanut Butter Brownie Torte. That was very good. The evening was kind of mixed bag. The service was spotty and some of the food items were not remarkable. If I went back I would skip the appetizers and just focus on the steak and lobster choices. The prices are reasonable, so perhaps its a good value for some customers.
