The menu is HUGE for a little place. You name it they had it. French onion soup-check. Pot pie-check. Burgers-check. Protein bowl-check. All with a full bar. Service was fine. But the food was the star of the show.

The Smoker Mac n Cheese with Brisket Pork and Chicken - Easily Two meals

This restaurant has been a fixture of the area for years but my first visit was 3 weeks ago, the week ownership changed. Matt, the new owner, stopped at our table to introduce himself and give us a bit of his history with the restaurant. He is very pleasant and incredibly knowledgeable. We were there on a Thursday which is all you can eat rib night. Since it was our first time we opted for the brisket / rib combo with baked beans and signature maple glazed mini potatoes . Since then we have taken friends there twice more. The wings are smoked, huge, and juicy . The sauces are to die for - especially the secret weapon. The smoker Mac n Cheese has a load of Brisket, Pulled Pork and Chicken on top of Cavatappi pasta with a 7 cheese sauce. This is enough for 2 meals. All the meats are cooked to perfection. Monday nights are half price wing nights and they do not cut either the size or the quality for the special. I do a lot of my own smoking so I am a bit of a snob about restaurant smoked meats. They knock it out of the park! This has quickly become our new go to spot. Looking so forward to taking more people there.

The smoker out front, must have 2 or more because I smelled smoke but this one is not smoking

This has been a long time bookmark of mine so I thought that I would get if off the books today for lunch. My BBQ experience tells me if you smell smoke 90 % of the time it's going to be good and I smell smoke in the parking lot. The building looks over a hundred years old with a nice small bar as you walk in with a tin ceiling. They have a small dining room with stone walls which just screams old. My service was great from the young woman who took care of me and she got a 34% tip, they were slow when I was there and she did a great job. They have two of my favorite foods baked French onion soup and smoked ribs. I started with a whiskey old fashioned sour which was decent. I ordered the full rack with Mac and Cheese and frys as my second side. I started with the baked French onion soup that looked amazing presentation wise. It was hot and cheesy with a decent amount of cheese, croutons and onions but very average because the broth had no depth of flavor at all. My food came pretty quick and it looked delicious. The frys were not seasoned and not cooked to order or sat to long because they had no crisp in them and they were not hot at all. The Mac and Cheese looked creamy with spiral pasts cooked past Al Dente but not to total mush and very average again with no big cheese flavor like it's made for the masses, Mac and Cheese needs bold flavors like aged/sharp to offset the bland macaroni in my opinion. The ribs on the other hand were very good and the star of my lunch. The ribs are always naked sauce on the side so I can taste how good or bad they are. The sauce was ok but I didn't use much of it because the naked ribs can hold their own. The ribs were tasty and seasoned nicely fall off the bone tender/moist with a good smoke flavor and better than average. I'm a BBQ hound and I get Bbq all over the country and I have seen this so many times and it's just part of Bbq which doesn't necessarily affect the review. Lots of Bbq places have really great meats and average sides which is ok in my opinion because I'm there for the smoked meat. Overall I enjoyed my Bbq rib lunch and I'm very glad that they were my new restaurant of the week so I would definitely go back the smoked meats.

I called ahead as my mom uses a walker and I wanted to be sure she could get into the restaurant. There's only one step in front and there is a path/ramp under the tent on the side. I was assured she could access the restaurant- not only that, they would set a table for 3 for us! When we arrived, the hostess and bartender met us at the front door and helped us in! Great customer service and we were off to a fabulous start! The food was delicious, we had pulled pork, sloppy Joe sandwich, and a tuna melt. Started off our dinner with onion strings and these were a generous portion. In fact, all of us had leftovers to take home! This day the restaurant had a fundraiser for a great cause, all proceeds from the carrot cake went to the cause. Omg, they should add the carrot cake to the menu- delicious! Thank you for your hospitality, kindness, we will return!

    Great gathering space!

Besides a strong preference for local non-chain eateries, I'm not coming all the way to Wisconsin and not getting cheese curds. Found this place on Yelp. Aaaaand.....I'm in love. The dark atmosphere and heavy, dark all-wood decor gives a vibe you can't find at any chain eatery. Our server, Bailey, was great at just simply interacting on a human level and making us out-of-towners feel welcome in what is obviously a locals hang-out. And yes, I got my cheese curds. But the star of the night was the beer cheese burger. Quite honestly one of the best, if not THE best burger I've ever had. Get one. You NEED this in your life. Trust me.

I got the Manhattan off their specialty menu and my husband got their autumn barrel Manhattan. After trying both--highly recommend the one off their specialty menu. It was definitely superior quality. It's served over a block of ice so if you want it up, you may want to mention that when ordering. It tasted more like a classic old fashioned than a Manhattan but I'm not complaining because I love classic bourbon old fashioned cocktails as well. For a starter we got their much raved about bang bang shrimp. It came on a bed of greens and was good! For my dinner I got their seasonal chicken and dumpling soup and a side salad. Both were solid. The salad was definitely more ample than I was expecting. My husband got some sort of salmon alfredo pasta dish that came with roasted asparagus mixed in. I had a bite and he ordered well--it was decadently buttery and delicious. The service was super kind throughout our stay. Our server checked in on us regularly without being overbearing. Get to it!

First time here…read more Food: It was a Friday evening, around 8:00, and we decided to try some of the fish specials. I ordered the Pan-Seared Walleye, and she chose the Lake Perch Fry. Since our entrées included access to the salad bar, we started there. The appearance of the salad bar was disappointing. I realize it was later in the evening, but there were literally salad bar fixings all over the place. Some items were mixed together, some had spilled onto the enclosure, and there was food on the floor as well. Much of what was offered looked like it had come straight out of a can. The walleye wasn't bad. However, the mixed vegetables were a pile of mush, and although I had requested the potato pancake be extra crispy, it was still undercooked in the middle. The perch fry was okay, but nothing special. For dessert, she ordered the Brandy Alexander, and I had the LemonBerry Cake. The Brandy Alexander was very good, while the LemonBerry Cake was mediocre. Service: Our server did a nice job getting us settled in. Water and drinks arrived promptly, and they were friendly and pleasant throughout the evening. However, they became involved in a lengthy conversation at another table, so getting our check took quite a while. Atmosphere: To be honest, the place looks a bit run-down and could probably benefit from some TLC. Since it was later in the evening, there weren't many other diners, and the restaurant was relatively quiet. The view of the lake through the windows is spectacular and makes it a great place to watch the sunset. I wish the food had been better. Unfortunately, this isn't a place we are likely to return to.

The bartender was friendly and conversational, yet kept his distance when not needed! They have a robust old fashioned menu--all made the Wisconsin style. We ordered the barrel aged old fashioned and asked if it could be made in the classic style (and specified without soda). Not a huge deal and we did enjoy but a word of warning to those who favor a classic old fashioned with no wash--might have a hard time with that here. For our second cocktail, we got Manhattans which were better! For an appetizer, we were waffling between the spinach artichoke dip and the brussels sprouts. Our server recommended the spinach artichoke dip so we went with that. The dip was flavorful and the tortilla chips are house made. It was good! For my main, I got their eggplant parm, which was ample, saucy, and served on a bed of pasta. I definitely couldn't eat it all in one sitting. It was delicious. Unfortunately, this second dinner was even worse than the first. The rice was undercooked, the short ribs were dry, and the scallops were gritty. I realize that, for some people, the Buy One, Get One promotion is a big draw. However, I suspect that the menu prices are inflated to offset the BOGO savings, so it doesn't end up being much of an actual benefit. My wish is that they would focus on improving the quality and consistency of the food and charge prices that appropriately cover their costs while still allowing them to make a profit. I don't think we'll be coming back anytime soon, which is sad because there is so much to like about the location and atmosphere.

Buckle up and keep your arms and hands inside this review…read more.. I was in town for a special occasion where my friends wanted to take me somewhere for a great steak dinner. One of my good friends was recommended F&H's, so that's where he choose to take me. First off the restaurant looks wonderful. Think country club, lodge, or your wealthy uncles house in the burbs...no complaints We arrived around 7pm on a Thursday night. I should have seen the red flags when we were first sat down. Red flag #1, the restaurant was somewhat empty for a dinner night. Red flag #2, the menu was a bit pricey, but understandable considering that this was supposed to be a premier steak house. Red flag #3, paper napkins and cheap silverware *think school cafeteria. When ordering, we should have picked up on the quality of what we were getting ourselves into was going to be low, when we learned that the $68 ribeye steak dinner, or any of the steak dinners were BOGO (Buy One Get One free). My friend ordered his steak well done (I know sacrilegious), and I had ordered mine medium...our steaks came out at the same time. The entrees were plentiful and picture worthy (I don't take pics of my food, I eat it!) I cut into my steak anticipating a soft, buttery bite and it was a little tough. I didn't give it much of a thought, I continued to slice through anticipating a more tender bite...nope. I tried another...nope. I tried a different side of the steak...nope. It actually got worse! I typically am not the kind of guest who complains, but in theory this was a $68 steak! This should have been tender to the knife, easy in the mouth, and full of flavor. The steak was one of the worse steaks I've had in a very long time! I couldn't hold back, so I mentioned something to the server. He was apologetic of my comments and immediately called one of the managers over to hopefully rectify the issue. The manager tried his best to defend the kitchen, and to justify that once in a while it happens, and guiltily offered to remake my meal, but stating, "well you know that it would take at least 15 minutes to remake"...I honestly was put off about the quality of the first one, and the look of my friends I was fine not eating. The manager then comes back and says, "well since these are BOGO, I won't be able to take it off the check...you'll still have to pay full price for the one"...so he then re-offered to have the kitchen remake the meal. I told him, "no thank you, I'm good", but then I thought to myself, NO! I had them make another meal to go for my friend to take home. In theory, the manager should have saved his offer, not wasted the time or food in remaking it. He should have discounted the one steak that my friend ended up eating, had just apologized, and have moved on. Now I've had a few days to ponder on it, and use the power of the internet to voice my experience. I have many friends and family who live in the area. I will spread my experience, and they will continue to spread what they had heard, and ultimately what could have been made right should have been done that night. Super easy fix...serve a delicious, well cooked piece of meat. Fix/Solve a guests/customers concern right away, no questions asked. Leave the guests/customers feeling satisfied, so that they leave happy, and the possibility to give you a second chance. My review won't prevent anyone from visiting your restaurant, but it will absolutely make them debate if it's worth the effort
