How have I never reviewed John Ash?! I've been coming to John Ash for years and it never loses its shine. The vibe here is true Sonoma wine country, there's vineyard views, there's soft romantic lighting, there's sophistication without it feeling pretentious or over done. Fancy and business casual all at once. I've celebrated countless dates, birthdays, anniversaries and random Tuesdays here because even when the restaurant is full, it feels intimate. Their menu changes with the seasons, but some things stay consistent. Also, the wine list is curated so well it would impress even the most picky sommelier. Again, very wine county forward. Service is mostly great (friendly, knowledgeable staff who know their wines) though occasionally a little slow on busy nights. 1000/10. If you live in Sonoma County and haven't been here at least once, go. It's worth the splurge and If you time it right at golden hour, it's honestly one of the most beautiful dinner spots in the county.

One of the most amazing restaurants I've been to in a long time. I first went for breakfast and had the macro bowl, and wow. It was fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. All the colors and flavors together felt so nourishing I joked it was aligning my chakras. You can truly taste the quality of the ingredients. I loved it so much that I brought my husband back for dinner that evening, and it ended up being one of the most delightful meals we've ever had together. I'm a big fan of a thoughtfully curated, farm-to-table menu, and this place does it beautifully. We started with the focaccia, which was hands down some of the best bread I've ever had. It came with an eggplant spread that had subtle Indian-inspired flavors and was absolutely marvelous. I had the baby greens salad, and the vegetables tasted like they had just been picked from the garden moments before. My husband ordered the butternut squash soup, and after one bite I understood why he loved it. For my main course, I had the salmon, which had the most delicate hint of clove. I was obsessed. My husband had the steak frites, cooked perfectly and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I kept stealing bites. We finished with tiramisu and bread pudding, both completely delightful, along with light, crisp glasses of Chardonnay. The next morning, I went back again for breakfast because I simply couldn't resist. I had the macro bowl again and ordered the Vinarosa burger to go for the drive home. Both were marvelous. Each time, I sat outside on the warm terrace, which made the whole experience even more special. This place is truly a gem.

We always stop her when visiting Healdsburg and never post. The burger, fries and drink are always spot on. The staff's friendly and helpful.

My husband and I stopped in for a casual date and sat in the bar area. Very casual, relaxed atmosphere. Not a lot of patrons this evening. Started off with a martini and glass of red wine from their diverse wine and cocktail list. Presentation was beautiful. The tacos were flavorful all the way around. Two were perfect for my husband's appetite The soup was decent especially with their fresh focaccia bread. Service was just ok. Our server was nice but she seemed rushed and didn't really want to be on that side of the restaurant. Pulled the short straw. We like our casual stop in after church. We'll be back.

Absolutely excellent service! We shared the burrata with the homemade focaccia which was amazing. I had the king salmon with the curry broth which was perfectly sweet and spicy. The bok choy was cooked perfectly. We were able to get a table near the window with excellent views of the vineyard and sunset. Would definitely recommend when in the area!

Beautiful venue with a wonderful winery in the back and plenty of seating with good view. Wonderful service. Tried their carbonara which was great, the highlight was their salmon which was perfectly soft and flavorful.

My husband brought me to this nice, enchanted fancy restaurant for my birthday. Reservations were placed online, upon arrival we were greeted and our tables ready within a 3-5min wait. They have a full bar to your right as soon as you walk in. Plenty of space to enjoy a nice cocktail, or if you're in the mood for a 1on1 more personable setting like we were that evening- we choose the outside patio which had heat warmers to keep us warm and toasty, all the while overlooking an endless bound of Sonoma's County finest winery. Our food was great- oyster appetizers along with the mandatory bread n butter. For the main entrée we helped ourselves to a perfectly cooked filet mignon, partnered with a glass of red wine, season mash n veggies. Our Server and all the staff were very attentive and provided great hospitality. Overall, a satisfied birthday dinner. Came home full, blessed and grateful. Thank you.

First of all, since it was $17, I asked the server how big the waffle would be, and he reassured me that it would be large, thick, and filling. It looked nothing like that. In my opinion, there also wasn't nearly enough whipped cream. I definitely expected more for $17. Second of all, it was NOT cooked through at all. It was literally dough. After that, I completely lost my appetite and didn't want to order anything else. For $17 I expected it to be the best waffle of my life. Instead, it was the worst one I've ever had. My husband ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Bacon and green sauce. He said it was just ok. He couldn't say anything good or bad about it. The service was good. Our server even comped the entire bill, which was very kind of him and we really appreciated it. The only reason this isn't a 1 star review is because of our server. The food is bad and extremely overpriced. We will not be back.

On the wall was a chalkboard with the list of local farmers and vendors that they used to supply their restaurant. I loved how fresh and flavorful all the food was, but I loved their collaboration with small local business owners to provide them with things like eggs and dairy. I had an omelette with spinach, caramelized, tomatoes, chicken sausage, and goat cheese. This was one of the most delicious bites I've had at a breakfast spot in a long time. We also shared an order of beignets that came with some fresh apple butter, which was to die for! It felt like taking a bit off fall weather if that makes sense. My boyfriend had some biscuits and country gravy with a side of sausage and fried eggs. He loved everything that he ate as well. He also had a bloody Mary, which was made with Soju. The flavor and quality was top notch and you hardly missed the vodka from the drink. Our server was very friendly, and he offered some insight into the quality of the Soju and the vendors that they work with. I just really loved the care that this restaurant put into not only service but the food that they're producing.

From the little table we sat at, we turned the chairs so we could face the kitchen area where the chefs were making fresh pizzas instead of staring at the bar tender with her chest hanging out (put them away, you're at work) or stare at the doorway. We weren't overly hungry but wanted to try it. The prices were pretty steep for a beer $12, and the cocktail was VERY expensive $19 after tax. Hubs decided not to order the beer but insisted I try a fancy drink so I decided on the unicorn after recommendation from our waitress. The drink was pleasantly good, not too sour or too sweet, however definitely not worth the price. Then we decided on a small bites, skillet prawns. The wait wasn't too long. We took a bite each and we were so confused at the odd flavor. It tasted like latex gloves and cleaner. Hubs tried a a second small bite of another one and spit it out. We probably shouldn't have stopped. Our waitress was really nice about it and offered to get us a new one or something else or a dessert, but we declined. She ended up taking it off the bill. Maybe skip the drinks and order a pizza.

From the outside, it's a pretty unassuming building. When we walked in, I got more of a diner vibe than an Italian restaurant. The décor is simple and straightforward without a lot of frills, but we were there for the food, not the décor. We were seated almost immediately, and our waitress was friendly and laid back. She also let us know that we had arrived just in time for happy hour, so naturally we had to order some drinks and appetizers. We tried both the red and white sangrias, which our waitress had made fresh that day. They were refreshing and hit the spot. To start, we ordered the calamari and shared a Caesar salad. We also enjoyed some of the house focaccia bread. For our entrées, I chose the Lamb Ragu while my wife went with the Pappardelle Bolognese. Everything arrived in a timely manner and came out hot and fresh. The calamari was crispy and well prepared. The focaccia was good, although I would have preferred it served warm. The Caesar salad was flavorful and the perfect size for sharing. The lamb in the Lamb Ragu was cooked perfectly, and the pasta had a great texture and chew. The Pappardelle Bolognese was hearty, meaty, and equally well executed. Portion sizes for both dishes were just right and satisfying without being overwhelming. Overall, we enjoyed our meal and had a pleasant dining experience. My only critique is that both pasta dishes could have used a little more seasoning, particularly salt, to make the flavors pop a bit more. Aside from that, Eddie's delivered a good Italian dinner with friendly service and good value.
