Joey's Pizza is one of my favorite pizza shops in Buffalo, so I was elated for the Joey's Pizza team when they announced Joey's Pizza Maple. Thanks to a Yelp event, I had the opportunity to experience the new location to the fullest and order some food for a later dinner. I don't really need to say it, but the experience was great!
Joey's Pizza Maple is in the town of Amherst on Maple Rd., taking over what used to be Pizza Works. This shop is part of a strip mall with a large parking lot, so no parking issues here. Right as you walk in, you're greeted with their menu spread across a few TVs and the counter to order and pay. What sets this new location apart from the others is that they have a dine-in area, a nice upgrade! There are plenty of tables and chairs and a soda fountain, including the Buffalo-staple - loganberry. There were a few TVs on playing various sports but the acoustics were so you can have a conversation without having to shout. The staff working were friendly, just like the staff at the George Urban Blvd. shop. I could've placed my order for dine-in, but I was wrapping up an event in their dine-in space and it was getting close to 8pm, so I placed my order to go. Barely 10 minutes later they called my name and I was heading home with dinner!
So if you've read my reviews for Joey's Pizza, you'd think I would've ordered a small pizza, but this time, I decided to try their chicken finger sub! I ordered a whole-sized (12") chicken finger sub with the chicken fingers coated in medium-sauce lettuce, tomato, provolone cheese, and bleu cheese, between a wheat roll. The chicken fingers were plenty big and coated nicely! The medium-sauce isn't very spicy but has plenty of flavor. The provolone cheese melted nicely over the chicken fingers and the bleu cheese was creamy, not thick. I'll admit, I don't think their take on the chicken finger sub was extraordinary, but they "checked all the boxes", nailing what I want in a good one, no complaints here! The whole-sized chicken finger sub filled me up nicely. The quality and size of my sub was worth the price, in my opinion.
I'm so impressed with Joeys Pizza Maple location! The friendly staff, the quality and reasonably priced food that I've experienced at their George Urban Blvd. shop are found here. The spacious dine-in section is such a great addition! I can definitely see another visit to Joey's Pizza Maple with family in my future. read more
