alright, so first things first, the pizza was great. but the service was kind of a joke. let me explain. we stopped here for lunch before heading to Niagara Falls after reading a random guide online. when we got there, only two other guys were there for lunch & wrapping it up, leaving minutes after we sat. we sat ourselves as told by the man behind the counter. we realized after a few minutes of no menus or service, we needed to order at the counter (no big deal, we were happy to). we ordered & waited. & waited. & waited. drinks arrived at the table, but it was a while after ordering. the pizza arrived 20-30 mins after ordering. we had to ask for plates. then go behind the bar for silverware (so we could cut a few of the pieces smaller for our toddlers). it just felt like the staff forgot about us (which is hard to do when the place is so small & only had us as customers). was the pizza great? yes. would i go back? probably not since there are other pizzerias. would i recommend to friends? no, due simply to the lack of service. this is probably a fantastic place if you're a local & the manager knows you, but for visitors, we felt forgotten & like we were an inconvenience. read more

Do not eat here if you want to avoid an extremely aggressive and easily agitated owner. To start, I've never even left a review of any business on any platform- but my experience at Joey's Pizzeria recently is enough to change that. I'm a now former long-time customer, and have been getting pizza from them since I was probably 8 years old. The other day, I placed a delivery order for a half tray with cheese, sweet peppers, and onions, my usual. Unfortunately it showed up with pepperoni on it. I've been a vegetarian for 15 years, and couldn't eat it if I wanted to. This was not the problem. I wasn't even upset, it was a mild inconvenience. But, when I called to inform them about the mistake, the guy instantly got angry. He said he is the owner and took my order personally, that my phone was breaking up when I placed the order (it was not, he had no trouble hearing me when I placed it and never indicated ANYTHING to suggest that he did), claimed he read the order back to me (he certainly did not, three people in the room when I placed the order can confirm). But regardless of both of those facts, he didn't acknowledge even the possibility that the mistake was theirs. That he may have misheard "sweet -peppers-" as "pepperoni". An easy enough mistake to make, and one that I wouldn't even be bothered by, but the way he spoke to me was HIGHLY aggressive, accusatory, and not becoming of the owner of a business. All he could do was communicate how annoyed he was. Certainly not deserving of my business any further. The food here is okay, service has been generally okay until now, but just expect that if they happen to make a mistake, you will quite likely be blamed and treated poorly as a result. From what I read, this is not uncommon. Better options for pizza both in terms of taste and service are available in the Falls. Consider that before going here. read more

This is owned by my uncle "Jailbird Joey." He obviously didn't get any help from Marty and Doc because the pizza doesn't do it for me at all. Yes, it's dirt cheap and pretty large in size (the slice) and I appreciate that, but what I didn't appreciate was that it was given to me lukewarm. But hey, I could have taken it home and reheated it myself except for the interesting fact that it was totally congealed and had clearly been sitting out forever and a day. Even had it not been congealed, I could tell from the flavour and texture that it wouldn't have been one of my fave slices (by a long shot), especially not in a town with Mr. Ventry's and Pizza Oven. However, as it is a family business, cheap, and with generous sizes, 3 stars is good. read more

Sunday night at 9:30pm and there are not a lot of options in this town to have a beer and a cooked meal. We stopped into another establishment, but they closed early--not nice. These guys were open and the bartender greeted us with a smile. We ordered the half tray with 20 wings (half charBBQ, recommended by him, and half medium) for $28. We had to wait quite a while for the food to come, but he gave us the wifi password so that helped pass the time and do some Yelping. ;) The place isn't that big, but it's pretty clean and friendly. There was a TV playing Sunday night football. We were able to snag a high table by the front window which was nice. The staff here are pretty loud, singing to the music playing, but it's not irritating. Other guests were decent and respectful, so you felt at home. When the pizza and wings arrived we were a little disappointed, especially with the pizza, it was overcooked with some black burnt edges. The crust was so hard I felt I might break a tooth! We mentioned it to the server/bartender and he offered to make a new one. But really, at 10:30 at night do we really want to wait another 30 minutes for a new pizza?--no thanks. I would have expected that he at least knock a few bucks off the bill, but nope. The wings were a good size and crispy, but the CharBBQ wings didn't have enough sauce on them. read more

Joeys is always on point, pizza, wings, subs, and the guys always take good care of me, can't beat the prices compared to everywhere else asking what they are, fast, hot and fresh every time I've ordered for pick up or delivery. read more

We ordered 20 wings for takeout and they gave us all drums (only 3 flats) ..The subs were good (no complaints on those) but we got screwed out of flats which was disappointing when it's over 1$ per wing these days. read more

Great family atmosphere and terrific pizza. True New York pizza at a great price. We got two large pies, one cheese and the other pepperoni and paid a little over $34. We then got a 2 liter sprite for $3 and drank well throughout our meal. All 4 of us got full and had plenty of soda. The pizza came out fresh and was tasty. Had the right amount of sauce, cheese, oil, ect. Thanks for the great food and service! I would say I'll be coming back but I'm visiting from Arizona. I'm originally from Queens, NYC so I know what good NY pizza is and I approve of this place. They took about a half an hour to make both our pies fresh. This was my first visit to Joey's, and it will not be my last. The place is someplace I would have frequented in my younger days. It is a small joint, with a bar, but is clean and pretty inviting. It has a handful of tables, and the staff seemed like nice, regular people. We got simple stuff; a cheese pizza and wings, and they were great. The pizza was what I would call New York style, done right. A not-too-thin crust, fit for folding the large, delicious slice, with a great sauce. Lemme tell ya, the sauce is not too sweet, with just the right spice. The wings were also perfect. We asked for medium and crispy, and we got it. On a side note, I heard from a couple of regulars to try a sub there too. They said they were the best in town, so that will be next. I am thinking if you want a great pizza and some wings to go with it, this is a place for you. read more

I loved Joeys pizza!!! I would always get a tray with wings- perfect western NY meal. I got a tray and wing special today (Dec. 27th) and there was multiple hairs found throughout the pizza. Went to the casino on the USA side and a nice gentlemen at the bar recommended we eat dinner at Joey's if we liked Pizza. We took his advice and are glad we did. Nice, quiet environment with a nice atmosphere. Service was very quick and friendly. Ordered a medium pie and it was delicious. My wife and moved to the Niagara/Buffalo area back in May (2011) and so far the food in this area has been quite disappointing. We've tried at least 10-15 different places, possibly more, and have found maybe a 3-4 places that are actually good. Sadly, Joey's Pizzeria was not good. We'll start with the dough, or rather, some flour and water. Honestly, I don't think I've ever tasted pizza crust this bland. Then there was the sauce, which was sweet, but lacked any flavor. I wouldn't be surprised if it was tomato sauce + sugar. As for the cheese, well, cheese is hard to mess up. Even if you buy "low-end" it's still cheese at it's core. That said, not impressed. It's a shame too, we live just down the road from them. We won't be returning. read more

This place advertises it opens at 11 am but doesn't answer until approx. 11:10 & very rude. One time I called & the person answered & said: "you have to call back I just came in & can't handle it right now." Make sure you don't pay with 20 dollar bills either the person at the counter will yell about giving away all his singles. Absolutely no parking in the area and the sidewalk in front is never salted in winter. I have never seen more than 3 people in this place at one time. The person behind the counter is extremely rude & will yell (yes yell) at the drop of a hat. I will never recommend this place and will never go to this place to be humiliated again. Food is pretty good overall . I like their subs. I just called to have food delivered. The guy here's I want a delivery , and in a snarky tone of voice he said. "well its gonna be an hour to an hour and a half" as if my wanting it delivered was a huge inconvenience. I said " ok no problem". I start to give him my order which was going to be a steak and cheese sub and chicken fingers. So he asks me for my order and I start with the steak and cheese. When he here's me say steak and cheese he says , " oh your really gonna piss this guy off". I assume he meant the cook or some other employee. I asked him " why , are you guys out of it ?? I can change my order" , and his response was " no , he's just got like 10 to do back there". At this point I just hung up. If there's 1 thing about the falls that's true ,its that there's plenty of other pizza joints to order from that are as good or better.
