The food here has always been good but it's a bit pricy. I picked up fish and chips today for a coworker and myself. The food was good but the fish should've been bigger, for what I paid. Prior to today, I came here three or four times last year. I think I haven't returned because of the pricing. The employees are very nice and the food is great! There is cute decor on the walls. Very nice owners. Close to residential buildings (where I live) for some easy cheap pizza!

I have been a happy customer since 2009 and that speaks volumes. The excellent quality of its offerings as well as that of its service has yet to waiver. Thier pizzas are certainly the standouts. The crusts are neither too thin nor are they thick and overly airy, but just the right softness as well as that certain pull and chewyness, thus a perfect crust and base to whatever toppings you may choose. I have had many of the subs as well as the steak hogies, all of which have yet to disappoint. So, in closing, my reasons for not awarding a 5 star rating is but personal as I prefer not the steak fries they offer but the shoestring. Also, I so wish they would again serve the fried chicken dinners as they were so very good! read more

Ordered as a group at work - I can only speak for two people's experiences and neither were good. First of all, I got my chicken fingers honey mustard.. the honey mustard was great! But the chicken fingers were small, tendon-y, and mostly breading. They also weren't sauced very well. The fries that came with the chicken fingers were average but flavorless even after adding salt, I have no idea how that's even possible. My coworker got the meatball sub and said "mine was AWFUL". Neither of us will suggest again - at least not for the chicken fingers and meatball sub. How is this place so good and so cheap. My dad is receiving treatment at Roswell and one day when he still had his appetite he wanted a sub. He ordered a steak and cheese and I got a chicken finger calzone. My dad really liked his sub but when he saw my calzone he was immediately jealous. It came in a pizza box. It was gigantic and delicious. It was full of chicken and ricotta which is more than I can say of most places lately. 9/28/2024: Order a breakfast pizza for delivery. Totally uncocked. When you went to go pick up a slice all the toppings fall off the dough & the dough was all gooey from not being cooked all the way through. Was totally nasty & not the first time this happen either. So the breakfast pizza was just a big box of loaded scramble eggs. Had to throw the dough part out.. The brownies weren't their actual brownies. They were some store bought shit ones. The two brownies they gave me one had m&m's on it & the other one look like it had a pile of shit on top of it.. Didn't eat them threw them out. Looked gross & wasn't worth the $2 piece. Buffalo,NY has always been in the top ranks for wings but lately it seems like everyone else is finally coming to terms with the fact that our pizza is equally amazing, specifically our sauce and charred pepperonis. Which is surprising because lately I've been really indecisive when it comes to food. Meaning I usually change what I'm in the mood for at the very last second so we've been ordering combination pizzas and haven't looked back since. We even got a free 2 liter for ordering a specialty/combination pizza. Chicken finger and pepperoni is my all time favorite (so far). There's something harmonious about that classically rich red sauce & creamy, flavorful blue cheese mixing together. Absolutely meal changing, poetic even..... a little dramatic? NAH SON! Where has this sauce been all of my life? I have to admit I usually stop by here after work so I haven't had the chance to dine in yet. But it is a decent sized pizza joint. About 4 tables in the main lobby, a counter with few chairs and another room with a few small booths, just ready and waiting for the lunch rush. I've been going to Chucks since I was in my young teens, I always stop going for some reason but then I end up going again. The customer service is always great, I may have only had 1 bad experience there in regards to a worker but other than that it has always been good. I went recently to meet one of my good friends for lunch while she was on her lunch break, while waiting for her to arrive I had a chance to grab a pic of the menu for us. I ordered a steak taco (large)with everything and my friend ordered a lunch special which included any 1/2 sub with a side (French fries, onion rings or soup-I believe those were the options), she chose onion rings and a pop. The food was ready in no time (10 mins tops) and we sat in the dining area to eat. My taco was very juicy and I could taste every ingredient on it, the meat was tender and seasoned well. Driving today in the city and I needed something to eat to hold me over until dinner. As always thank you Yelp for finding me these great establishments. I saw some other yelpers pictures of the large steak taco and I went with that. It was tasty with the right amount of taco sauce heat meat, lettuce tomato and sour cream. I had to grab a couple cannolis and enjoyed one after my taco. Tried this little joint for the first time years ago when I was working on an album at a recording studio a few blocks from here. That particular day, I remember I got a turkey sub and it was delicious! I went there for the first time since, a few days ago and I was blown away by the renovations in the dining area and how delicious the food was! I personally got a beef on weck sub and my buddy got a chicken finger sub with some cannolis for dessert! 5 stars baby! One of those day when you just want a sub and you accidentally find this tuck away place ... and it happened to be Chuck's Pizza. In my opinion what makes a good sub is the roll that hold all the delicious stuff in it ... and that is what Chucks pizza roll was/is ... ordered a turkey club the roll was nicely toasted and have all the right amount of goodness. For a later meal ordered some lasagna- it was OK ... I like my lasagna layers to have cheese on top of cheese ... this didn't have much cheese but over all it's OK. The only thing wrong with chucks is that it's not more visible. I walked past this place at least a hundred times before I finally checked it out, and boy am I glad I did. Some of the best wings in Buffalo, especially their barbecue. Only place nearby that holds a candle to em is Gabes gate. Pizza is fantastic for Buffalo, and the guys inside are nice as can be. If you're on a budget and want a quick bite, Chuck's is the place to go! Here's the breakdown: -Atmosphere- The place has a decent amount of seating. Personally I've never dined in since I'm usually running around everywhere, but overall it's clean, comfortable and there's TVs in both seating areas. The staff is incredibly friendly, organized and wait times are rarely 10 min long, almost always less. -Food- So I'm kinda boring in that I've only ever gotten pizza, fries or a combo of both of them, but as far as their quality of food goes, it's decent. Their pizza has good flavor, especially the sauce, and the crust is cooked thoroughly. However, their cheese doesn't melt all too well and tends to solidify into a block after just 5 min or so. Fries however are really good, with a light and crispy outside with fresh, mashed-potato inside. My friends had gotten wraps as well, and they had no complaints! -Things to Consider- 1) In my opinion, the main selling point for Chuck's is getting good food for an even better price. Especially as a student, 2 slices and a drink/fries for $8 or less is fantastic. 2) Looks can be deceiving! The answer is that you will never want to "chuck" Chuck's, in fact you will want to keep it forever and ever, and eat Chuck's over and over again. It's one of the best 5 slices in Buffalo hands down... it might even be the best. It's nomtastic. Stop reading, and go and get a slice. Didn't work? Still reading. Okay then. Fine. On with the show. And by show I mean review. What to get: Slices, Specialty Pizzas. I honestly was not expecting to like Chuck's North Street Pizza. On the contrary, I was expecting to ate it. Not eat it, but ate it. I mean 'ate it. As in hate. Because you see, everyone was telling me, it's amazing pizza, but the sauce is super sweet and it's really not comparable to other Buffalo pizza because it's so sweet and good. See, to me, sweet and good don't mix. But I jumped in and bit the bullet and tried it anyway, and what were they talking about? The sauce isn't sweet at all! It may not be the darkest, richest, saltiest sauce on goddess' blue earth, but it's certainly not sweet. And while it may not be sweet, it is utterly delicious. The pizza was piping hot, sloppy, wet, filling, incredible, delicious, dreamy, slippery, tasty, sexy, hell it was everything I'd ever want or expect from a Buffalonian slice. In fact it is the quintessential wet Buffalonian slice. Imperial (my fave) is a bit fluffy to be uber-typical B-Lo, and the ones I remembered from the old days (Thom's, some of the Avenues, Andolinis, Pizza Express) on the East Side or in Amherst, are either long gone or have changed a bit. This place harks back to an older time when Buffalo pizza was always this slippery and good and perfect. This has stormed right into my "best 5 slices in Buffalo" list, and believe me, if it's one of the best slices in Buffalo, it's one of the best slices in the world. It might even be the 2nd best slice in Buffalo behind Imperial. It's right up there. I'd take out of towners here. So everyone needs to try this, like, yesterday. Thank you very much Chuck's, for reminding me why I love Pizza so much. You are fantastic and you are one of the best I have tried in WNY. Ive learned something new about myself here as I visited a few times. I don't like "sweet pizza" as much as I like "non-sweet pizza". I say it this way because Im not really sure why its so noticeable to me. Having said that, I enjoy this pizza, it does go down easy, and have been back a few times. But only if I'm downtown and cant get a "non-sweet pizza" from Pi Craft or other places. Before coming here I never really understood what "Buffalo Pizza" was, but I did know that I liked it, and felt right at home when I had Lovejoy pizza, which is clearly "Buffalo Pizza". I have a feeling Lovejoy is not as "sweet" as Chucks was and as a result I may like it just a tad more. However, now that I have seen both places, I don't really think you can go wrong in either. Both places have happy people working the counters (Lovejoy on Main is the one Im referring to), they are busy but not harried, they know many of their customers by name, they have orders ready for pickup, the pizza is fresh at both, and the ambience is similar in both, although Chucks has many signed sports pics on the wall, fun to look at while you are waiting. They also have more tables, and a tv, which might be a little too loud, but not much. The pieces here are large and the prices consistent with others in the area. They have a lunch deal of 2 slices and a drink. I have only had the cheese and the pepperoni options. Parking here is street, hit or miss, but Ive not found it too difficult. read more

I've been going to Chuck's for years, and I always order the same thing: pizza logs. Not only are they delicious, but they're a great value and include a side of fries. They have updated their fries recently; instead of the steak fries that they had been serving, they are thin and crispy. When I last ordered, I couldn't pull myself away from the fries and a few of my pizza logs went cold (that says something since pizza logs are my favorite thing in the world). Chuck's is also fast - when I order pizza logs for pick-up, they are ready in 15 minutes. I've ordered pizza logs elsewhere, and it was a 45-minute wait. Tucked away on North at the corner of Linwood, Chucks is hidden off the normal beaten path but I've been passing it for years and was told it's a hidden gem. I opted to get the cold sub lunch special and a small chicken taco. The taco was jam packed with chicken and had some kick for being medium. The sub deal with pretty good for the price and what's included - hefty serving of onion rings and I went with the 6" assorted. Only complaint was sub could have used a little more on the condiments and the onions were pretty strong. Ordered two Fish Fry dinners. Simple enough, right? Well, what I got was a 5.3 ounce (yes, I used a kitchen scale to weigh it) overcooked piece of room temperature fish, with a COLD roll and COLD fries. There were a few fries in the middle of the pile that were still room temp, but the rest were cold and limp. Called to ask why the fish was so small and was told that the fish was 8-10 ounces, but that after frying it's normal to "lose up to half it's weight." That doesn't seem to be a problem any of the other pizza/sub places in the area have, but whatever. I complained about the fries and stated I wanted either a new one sent out to replace the one I had (I had only eaten the roll and 4 fries at that point, so no, I wasn't trying to get a free meal) or a refund and was told that they would not be doing anything and that if I didn't like it I could call back next week and complain to the owner. read more

I eat with my eyes first and can't say this pizza yelled "dig in" at me. This is Buffalo. There is a certain expectation we have here. But, looks are just looks...it's what's on the inside that matters, right?! So first bite was of the pepperoni bacon and onion. First thing that I tasted was tons of bacon grease. Not pleasant. I've ordered bacon on pizza millions of times (figuratively....maybe) and extremely infrequent is this strong a flavor of bacon grease. Doesn't sit well as there was also a ton of grease from the peps. Oh, and the onions were left off, not cool Chuck! Not cool. Sauce was decent. Crust was the only saving grace. The crust was fantastic. The stuffed pepper side was average. Nothing incredible. Hot pepper cream cheese and herbs. Was okay. With so many pizza joints in the Queen City you really gotta grab me (figuratively....maybe) if I am going to go repeat business. Would I stop in again? Maybe. The crust is really the best part, thin and crispy. The sauce is too salty and pasty for a pizza, and the cheese makes no attempt to leave your pizza when you bite into it. Came in the night of the Germany Argentina world cup game to get some wings and a sandwich. My friend and I chose to eat it there and were about to finish when whoever was behind the counter came out, shut down the TV, and announced that they were closing and we needed to leave. This is probably one of the best sub places I've been too. The one thing I would change is the thin bread. When I picture a sub I picture it with chicks taste and web man's sub bread, but that wasn't the point of this.
