    1/2 mushroom, 1/2 cheese

5/5!!!!!!!!! Gandy's is the best place for a fish fry, in all of Buffalo. Do not waste anymore time and pick up the phone to place your order now.

This is just single mushrooms!! Usually to get this many mushrooms you'd have to say "double" or "extra" at other places! Amazing!!!

I cannot say enough about Gandys. Every item that I have gotten off the menu is perfection. The owner is friendly and cares about customers. Once they had accidentally mixed up my topping, he was so very apologetic and honestly it was unnecessary but completely heartfelt and so appreciated. You don't see that much in business and if I wasn't already a customer for life that would have sealed the deal. I cannot recommend enough their pizza especially with mushrooms is today for. Their chicken wings are large and the meet is plump, white, and so very tender. I'm not sure how they do it - either they get in top-quality wings or they brine them or something. I'm assuming it's just their focus on buying quality ingredients! Their chard barbecue wings are extra special and they make their own barbecue sauce and triple dip before putting them on the grill. It is not overly sweet like some of the processed ones and other pizzerias- it is phenomenal. The fish fry is one of the best in Buffalo and I grew up on ginmill authentic fish fries! They wrap it in such a way that it stays crispy... the salads on the side are all house-made - potato, macaroni, coleslaw- all delish! The chicken puffs are unique to them and out of this world - they are beer battered chicken tenders. Get those with the potato wedges and you cannot go wrong. Their turkey sub is cut into a "turkey club style" with the roll cut in thirds to make three layers - delicious and it seems that they roast their own turkey because that was not deli meat! A personal tip from me because they are abundant with their ingredients I order light cheese on my pizza because they put on more than I've ever seen from another pizzeria, again I think this is because they enter please enter customer and quality oriented. There is always a few people waiting and socially distancing for their food, they have a great system - everyone goes in one at a time and pays, you can go back to your car and wait for them to bring your food out or you can feel free to wait outside if you like. RUN to Gandy's.. you'll never be disappointed! Support one of the best local businesses in town. PS- if you think I'm hamming up this review, rest assured that it is only from my LOVE of their good. I have no investment in this business, nor do I know the owners or staff . But I'd be happy to call them friends- as they treat everyone with the same heart they must give their friends & fam. Bravo Gandy's! Continue to show 'em how it's done.

    Chef salad with lunch special

First time here. Very good food at reasonable prices. Service was outstanding as well. I had lunch special of stuffed rigatoni, chef salad and garlic bread. Nephew had c&p pizza. Very large portion of pasta and salad!!

Gandalf from Lord Of The Rings kept his Handys up his sleevies and he didn't Bandy about feeling Randy, although if he did, that would be just fine and Dandy... much like the Barry Manilow song Mandy, or the British electronics store Tandy, his organizations seemed to be very disbandy, as in they fail at plan A, B and C, and end up also failing at Plan-D, with Gandalf ending up sleeping on a beach (at least it's Sandy), and then finally having the idea to open up a pizza shop named Gandys. I really wanted to love Gandy's and they came highly recommended... but I have to be honest and say that I didn't love them that much at all. The service was nice and the people are good people... their most popular dish seems to be the Chicken X which are basically fried pieces of chicken, and actually sound really delicious. You would hope and expect them to be delicious for the price (I think the smallest order is $10), but the truth is that they are pretty basic and standard fried chicken tenders that are breaded in the same sort of batter that you would expect for a Fish Fry, but not a very good one... a sort of bland, tasteless one. Very unfortunate to say this. After 5 or 6 unsuccessful attempts, I was finally able to try a pizza slice here recently. Thank goodness. The slice was average. I liked the crust even though it looked a bit generic, it tasted good. The sauce was okay, a little bland. The cheese was fine. The pepperonis were nice. In a city full of wonderful pizza I found this one to just be okay. However my travelling companion said it was delicious, and she loved every bite. However I didn't taste anything that would cause me to raise Gandalf up from 4 to 5, or indeed to lower it to 3. Honestly it is more like a 3 star place to me, but with nice service, honest people and a family-owned place, it's always going to get that extra star from me. I do think they have excellent service, and I think that people who are fans of fried stuff in general, and bland American style fish fries, might really like them. They're worth a try, they're definitely different and original, in the sense that I haven't seen them on the menu at any other pizza places recently. Or ever. At all. Like, ever. Whoa. So anyway, head on over here and take a gandy at them moccasins. There's an Amish girl on TV telling a kid who looks like the guy from Malcolm in the Middle that she has never been to a party before. Interesting. Verrrrry interesting. Hmm.

Wow. Hands down some of the best pizza we've had…read more We ordered the San Felice Pizza -- San Marzano tomatoes, house-made sausage, sweet and spicy peppers, onion, buffalo mozzarella, and fresh basil -- and it was absolute perfection. The flavors don't compete... they melt together into one big, perfect masterpiece. The peppers leaned sweet (no real heat), which made them the ideal companion to the delicious sausage. And that sausage? Made in-house and seasoned beautifully, with the perfect amount of fennel -- enough to give it that classic Italian character without overpowering the pie. Perfection! The buffalo mozzarella added creamy richness, the basil kept everything bright, and the San Marzano tomatoes were clean and balanced. We love pizza in all its forms -- New York style and Napoli alike -- but there is something about the rustic goodness of true Neapolitan pizza that has a special place in my pizza-loving heart. That airy, soft center and char-kissed crust from the wood-fired oven is magic. The use of such fresh ingredients makes Forno Napoli my favorite pizza on NY so far - authentic and intentional. There is a lot of love and pride in everything from the handmade crust to all of the toppings. They also serve a garlic butter and cheese dipping sauce for the crust -- indulgent and completely unnecessary in the BEST possible way. That blistered crust dipped in that sauce? Unreal. The cheese? Yes, they have the most beautiful wheel of pecorino they hand grate from to make this happen. No green shaker bottles here! We met Felix, the owner, and he was incredibly welcoming. He has such great energy -- warm, engaging, and clearly passionate. You can tell he's the heartbeat behind the recipes and the success of the business. It feels personal. He made us want to share just how great our entire experience was and he certainly made us want to return. Our only regret? We were too full to try another pizza. Do not hesitate. This truly is a slice of heaven.

The bartenders were all friendly, but Tom was particularly helpful. Checking to mate sure that everything was good and offering suggestions. I ordered steak in au gratin potatoes. He brought me cheese bread that was phenomenal. It was served with butter and some sort of sauce that I didn't try. I got a new york strip that was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The au gratin potatoes were shredded potatoes. They were okay but definitely not what I would have expected at a steakehouse. I would not order them again. We ordered a variety of appetizers, and the meatball and Mediterranean platters remain my favorites. You must try their homemade pita--light, airy, and with just the right chew. They absolutely know how to do steak. My side of almond broccolini unexpectedly stole the show. The bright burst of lemon was the perfect complement, cutting through the richness of the mashed potatoes and filet. As for dessert? Hands down, the chocolate mousse cake. If you're getting it to go, be sure to ask for the coffee gelato before you leave--don't miss out on this perfectly smooth, rich treat. Our guests are still talking about their meals!

While we had a 5pm reservation, in hindsight it probably wasn't necessary as we were seated right away and quickly greeted by our server, Allie G. To start, I ordered the Apple Cider Mule (mocktail) which was festive and delicious while my brother went for the Logan Mule (so Buffalo). Naturally, we wanted bread (what I thought was a given in an Italian restaurant). Sadly, it was $3 for warm bread, which felt a little rude, but of course I ordered it and devoured it, too! I also started with the mushroom bisque that was on special and it was fantastic as it was rich, flavorful, and the kind of soup you want to eat slowly so it lasts longer. For my entree I chose the Crespelle while my brother got his favorite, the Brasciole. The food was truly the highlight of the evening. Everything was prepared well and very, very satisfying. I would say that the service, unfortunately, left a bit to be desired. Not terrible, but not great. I hate having to ask another server to bring a box, the check, etc. because our server was no where to be found. There is free parking somewhere, though we only noticed the sign for it after we had already paid to park. That said, the atmosphere at Tappo is always lovely and the portions were generous for the price. Of course, I'd absolutely return - especially to try one of their fun igloos someday!

We went during resturant week and what a steal, $25 got me a casear salad, spaghetti and meatballs with a small assortment of desserts. I also grabbed truffle fries which we a special. THOSE should be a permanent thing. The meatballs were ginormous, they should (and i believe ARE) a meal themselves. My only only gripe is that you have to pay for the bread as an app. But that's just the carb lover in me. With it being restaurant week, it was busy for a Wednesday but our server was on her toes and made sure our drinks were full all the time and everything came out promptly. One thing I want to note, that I did not take advantage of is there is FREE parking as long as there's space. This was true for the day I went, not sure if that is always. But there is a small lot across the street that you can park at. I paid the $6.75 in the ramp that is basically next to the resturant.
