Recently my wife and 6 other guests went to Amici's for a birthday dinner. It was our 2nd or 3rd time since their reopening. First off, the rebuild was great, the food was excellent and the service was exceptional. What I didn't find exceptional was the additional charges for our meals. I ordered a Bourbon Manhattan on the rocks with 3 cherries. The drink was fine, but I was charged extra for a special bourbon which I did not order. For the first time ever, I was charged two dollars for "on the rocks". My grandson ordered a caesar salad which he didn't eat because it smelled fishy. Anchovies, which he did not order, were added to the salad at an additional cost of $3.00. Needless to say I will have to reconsider any additional visits to Amici's. We really like this place we live in Kenmore so we go quite a bit . $120.00 for 2 dinners plus appetizer a little on the high but food was ok we were seated in the worst seat in the restaurant the half booth in the far dark no light corner awful! The family dined at amici's March 19, 2026- we all ordered the st Joseph's feast special, 4 courses, & we were not disappointed. Also had 2 appetizers to share, clams casino, & artichoke hearts- so delicious, especially the artichokes, I could have made a meal with them & fresh Italian bread- yum! First course lentil soup was not too salty, brimming with carrots celery- , then the pasta con sardi, cod fish with the fried broccoli & cauliflower frittata, & cardone frittata, finally dessert - cannoli & sfingi( puff pastry ) Had to take leftovers home... very generous servings, but too much to eat it all! I made a reservation for a large group of people on a Saturday night 2 weeks ahead of time. I asked about seating on the patio and if it would be too hot outside. The owner called me back promptly and he told me that there was a large fan that cools the patio off nicely and we should be fine. It was not fine. We were so uncomfortable being it was an extremely hot day but not much we can do about the weather. Service was, I'll shot it straight, awful. So slow!! Our dinner reservations were at 6:30pm, we Sat prompt at 6:30 and the server came to the table for our drink order 20 minutes later and we left at 9:15pm. The server was kind and apologetic for the waiting for service and food but it was really bad. Let's get to the food. Pasta dishes were small portions. The chicken Marsala and specials that evening were fine. Nothing to rave about. I hate writing reviews like this but it's important for owners to know. We love Amici, and have for many years. It's a real gem in the village of Kenmore - cozy feeling but elegant with a large variety on its menu, exciting daily specials, and a great wine list. Since I've had to go gluten-free, they've remained one of my favorites, as they have gluten-free lasagna and gluten-free pastas that can be used for any of the dishes. Finally made it to Amici's! This place has been widely suggested to us. The restaurant is clean and beautiful, and all the staff were extremely professional and friendly- shout out to the busser guys they really kept things going! And our waiter was quick to offer suggestions and was genuinely so nice. From start to finish, everything was great, starting out with delicious bread and oil, and next we had what I think is the best arancini I've had in Buffalo. Great wine and cocktail menus also. The only reasons I'm taking off a star is simply because the pasta was slightly overcooked and the specials we wanted were out of stock so we were mildly disappointed. Also, we sat on the enclosed patio in winter which wasn't an issue for us, however, the man at the table next to us closer to the inside of the restaurant requested the heater be turned off or down right as we sat so I spent most of my meal pretty cold as we were sitting on the street side. I'd suggest not turning the heaters down so you don't ice out those sitting on the edge. Would rather be a little too warm than freezing cold! I ordered the pork shank off the daily special menu and HANDS DOWN one of the BEST MEALS I ever ate!! As it was coming to be placed in front of me, I felt like it was my birthday or something the way it was presented and so big!! I left STUFFED! It's definitely a meal I will be thinking about for a long time and nothing will compare. So now I've ordered 50% of my entrees off the regular menu and 50% off the specials menu on all my visits and I will say, although every meal has been great and 0 complaints, the specials menu WINS! The hostess rambled about 2 tables being open but saved for people who had reservations. Did we not also have a reservation? So, in dishwater we sat. We ordered the lasagna and the linguine alla vongole (linguine with clams). Waitress told us in advance the lasagna would take a while, which we appreciated. The food really didn't take that long to come out--maybe 20-25 min. The lasagna was good but I will say that I was really disappointed with the lack of fresh clams in the the linguine. Also want to add that our waters were never filled up even once the whole time we were there. Staff didn't seem very friendly either--very judgey...of people they don't even know. I have been wanting to come here for over 1 & 1/2 years now & FINALLY did tonight. We had to make reservations for the patio because the inside was booked up. We got there at 6pm & we're showed to our table by a nice young lady. Then we had a nice young man "Dom" as our waiter for the evening. I tried 1/2 of one & it was very good. My salad was lite & yummy. Then we got out entrees . I ordered the Chicken Fiorentina on top of Angel Hair pasta in a lite Wine Cream Sauce. It was delicious. Jeremy ordered the Shrimp Scampi & he thought it was very good. My other son tried it & said it was good too. Matty ordered the Vodka Penne & thought it was good. I thought the sauce tasted just like "Chef Boyardee" I just had Diet Coke & Water to drink , which was perfect for me. Jeremy had a "Peroni" beer & Matty had a "Paper Plane" drink that was "ok". The waiter checked up on us just enough. Not too much where it was annoying & not too far in between where we didn't get service when we needed it. Dom, our waiter packed up the rest of mine & Matty's food. We were full . Jeremy finished all of his. Other waitresses helped out as well off & on & were very nice. The ladies room is very tiny & could use some repairs to make it look a little nicer, but, it did its job (lol) and that's all that really mattered. We were greeted by the host who sat us promptly for our reservation. The kids described the waitress as nice, kind, happy, and quick. She made their birthday special with candles on their dessert. She was also accommodating as we had to eat in shifts to be conducive to our schedule. We ordered Chicken Parmesano, Cheese Raviolis with meatballs, and Arrabiata with shrimp. The bread, served with an amazing cheesy Italian olive oil, was warm and flaky. The entrees were cooked perfectly and everything was so flavorful. My son says, "This place slays" and even wrote 1,000,000/10 review. The ravioli was reminiscent of Gondola's filling with mint. The Arrabiata had sliced banana peppers and the added shrimp were jumbo size. We topped the night off with three small, but well filled canollis drizzled with chocolate sauce and a rich peanut butter mousse with a thick chocolate hard layer topping. Perfect ending to a perfect meal. From an atmosphere, it's a quaint traditional style with a little modern flair. Italian food related artwork on the walls. Amazing place with amazing service and food. I I went here on date with my girlfriend months ago and we loved it. I am leaving this review now because I placed a to go order for a Vodka Pasts which is my girlfriends favorite. She is a vegetarian, and I didn't know it had meat in it. They were kind enough to cook another one for me at no charge! I couldn't be more grateful as we have had a tough go at life lately, this act of kindness really means more to me than they can know. The restaurant wasn't full but maybe they were understaffed because our dinner progression was definitely SLOW but since I was there with 8 of my buddies this was okayish. Our drink orders were taken. Then appetizer orders were taken when everyone was there. We were served our appetizers and completely finished them before we were asked what our entrees should be and that definitely extended our stay a lot... The calamari appetizer here is great, tender and delicious. Way better than the rubbery garbage I was served at Lucia's on the Lake. The brushetta platter is really nice, toasted french bread, tapenade, bruschetta, a roasted garlic bulb, and a cheese pesto spread were all delicious. There was also butter and olive oil dipping sauce. Fried ravioli were good as were the stuffed peppers. I got the braised short rib paparadelle and it was very nice, tender meat, whole stewed tomatoes and peas. Not sure about the whole tomatoes and peas being a good choice with the meat but I would probably get it again. Everyone else's meals looked inviting. I finished up with a creme brulle that was perfect and delicious. Drinks were hit or miss for me. I got the Paloma off the special drinks menu and it was a little too bitter and sour for my taste but I've never had a Paloma tbh. The mule I ordered afterward was just fine. read more

I ordered some arancini and shrimp scampi as my entree. I really enjoyed my food! The arancini was fried to a nice golden color and the rice to cheese ratio was just perfect. I also really enjoyed my shrimp scampi. It was really flavorful and not too garlic-y. The service was a little slow. I didn't see that many people in the restaurant so that's why I took off a star. Complementary Bread. Oil has some spices in it but not enough and they didn't let the spices soak into the oil to flavor it. Mostly tastes like plain olive oil. Roasted Garlic Bruschetta 8/10. Bread is almost always over toasted and as hard as a rock. Garlic was seasoned well before being roasted. The first time I tried this, I tried all of the tapenades and cheeses. This time I only ate 2 of them. The cream cheese based dip is my absolute favorite- I could eat it with a spoon. The olive tapenade is good if you like kalamata olives- I don't that much. Normal bruschetta is seasoned a bit with oil and herbs which is always really good. I don't remember how the others taste at the moment but I'm sure I'll be going back again for more! Tortellini con Panna 8/10. I got the cheese ones. Cooked perfectly. The cream sauce was a tad bland yet somehow had a lot of pepper in it that you couldn't really taste. More cheese probably could have made this cream sauce a little more flavorful. The prosciutto added a good bacon-y flavor in some bites too. I think the peas were a little firm, but I can't be certain because I mostly avoided them. Leftovers heat up okay..
