Came here to check out a Paint and Sip night and had a blast. Joe's Corner did a great job with hosting the event, providing complimentary wine, cheese, and crackers to enjoy throughout the session. They also have beer choices and cafe food you can order (sandwiches/salads). The owners were very attentive and made sure all our needs were taken care of during this event. I can definitely see myself coming back to Joe's at some point to grab a meal and drink. read more

Eggs, bacon, home-style potatoes, biscuits and gravy with minced sausage, multi-layered meat BLT, melts, rubens, cinnamon french toasts, lunch sandwiches, pubby kind of subs 'cuz since it is of course a self-proclaimed deli -- all at streetwise prices. There might be a flashier place to eat in town with sassy dishes, but there's hardly a place that's quick, easy-going and hospitable like "Joe's." For you regulars here, I bet you didn't know this -- they know how to whip together a classy looking latte. I mean, if you are foregoing beer, get a good mug of tingly coffee instead. If it's the weekend, they will show the game on TV, whatever game's hot. Absolutely amazing! The Pesto Arugula pizza is my family's favorite. The staff is amazing and super nice. My go to all the time!

This used to be my favorite Friday (or Saturday) night hang out. Good beer, great service, reasonable prices, and a friendly crowd. Over the past few months things have gone downhill. Prices have increased, selection of beers has decreased, and most recently service has declined. Last night I ordered my $5 happy hour beers and the receipt said $5.03 (plus tax) per beer. 3 cents isn't really a big deal in the grand scheme of things but why advertise $5 HH beers if you are going to charge more than $5. Doesn't make any sense. Last night I watched my beer being poured and several times the bartender/owner wiped her fingers along the rim of the glass to remove excess foam. Anybody who has worked in a restaurant knows not to touch the rim of a glass because that is where the customers lips will go. I miss the old Joe's where I was greeted by name, got quick and friendly service, and there was good food and a great selection of beers to chose from. Hopefully the owner can make the necessary changes to take Joe's back to what it used to be. read more

Well look who's all grown up, little ol' Joe's Corner. Back in the day, this space was one helluva dive bar. Seedy, stanky, punky, all the things that would attract degenerate, lackadaisical gen x ers. Now it is a coffee/sandwich shop. A quaint, country store feeling joint that baby boomers and weekend antique-ers would feel comfy in. Light wood, soft rock in the back ground, water color paintings, the new owners, though keeping the name has completely redefined the concept/mission. And you know what, it is good. Good for Niles, good for the commercialism of the locale The digs: Sandwiches are Italian style paninis, toasty, melty, meaty. They are modest sized, but they are dense and filling. Most meats are the cured Italian style, prosciutto, different salumis, capicolla, etc... I've actually found some of the sandwiches to end up a little salty due to these cured meats. I like to request some sort of veggie to break up the meat/cheese fest, arugula is real nice. Potato Salad is nice. Fresh tasting and quite mild. I originally felt it was a bit under-seasoned, but with the salty, cured meats from the sandwiches, you will be thankful for the mildness. Full coffee bar. Nice to have a cappuccino with my sammie. And the coffee is legit. Craft Brews on tap. They have at least 8 brews on tap, most local. Haven't been able to indulge yet because I usually come here on my work lunch breaks. It's nice to see both of us grow up together Joe's. A real nice turn for the better. read more

This place just isn't the same since new owners took over. A big problem is the beer prices went way up which might account for why it is so dead anytime but during happy hour (and these days it is even dead then). Worse they've had a lot of turnover in staff and some really nice (and knowledgeable) people are no longer there and because of that the whole establishment has a moribund vibe about it. These days it's just kind of depressing to sit in the place. And they don't even spin vinyl anymore which kind of made the place unique. Even before the new owners I wasn't a fan of the food. The sandwiches were overdone and it just wasn't that special. That said the meatball sub and cheese and cold cut plate are passable. To be honest I wouldn't recommend it as a place to eat unless you happen to be there and it is convenient. I'm giving Joe's two stars because they do have a decent selection of beer (but again the prices outside of happy hour are outrageous) though I'll add a lot of them seem to tap out a lot. Anyway, it is sad to see this go from a hopping local watering hole to the dead zone it has become. My only advice is they should consider changing up the whole place and get new food (considering it's Fremont Indian would be great, especially since there's nothing like that in the Niles area) and stop trying to be something that has already passed. I think it is either that or just wait for yet another owner (or worse seeing the place close period). Too bad. read more

My sister and my boyfriend plus our 4 dogs visited this place over the weekend since Scramblz had a 2 hour wait for their patio. I called, and the woman who answered was very friendly and let me know there was no wait. We arrived and realized that they don't really have a patio, but chairs and tables on the sidewalk. There's outside bar seating but that's not super comfortable when you have dogs winding around your feet. We went inside and ordered. One vanilla latte, a beer, a breakfast sandwich and a breakfast scramble totaled to 28.00 plus a 5 dollar tip. Kinda more than I wanted to spend for the quality+service here. I brought the beer outside and my BF started drinking it, and a young lady approached us and said he needed to drink it inside the premises. Whoops! Forgot that the sidewalk was public space. Just wish they had told us earlier before we were all settled. We ended up moving inside the bar space where we sat at the tall tables. The chairs were all squeaky and wobbly and I kept feeling like I was going to fall off. We asked for water for the dogs, and were told that there was a bucket outside and they could drink from there instead. Haha. Okay. Our food came out and my BF really enjoyed his sandwich, and I quite liked my scramble. My sis wasn't a fan of her breakfast plate--she didn't like the sausage, but her eggs were cooked perfectly. The vanilla lattes were standard but not bad. Toast had a bit too much oily butter, but was yummy. Overall, 3 stars. Pretty OK food, and good service from some of the girls but not all of them. Side note, there was a guy with a yellow lab there that wasn't on leash. The dog just kept walking around the front of the restaurant and basically causing all the other dogs to bark and lunge. Not sure if the guy worked there or frequented the area but I wish staff had shooed him away since his dog wasn't on leash. read more

I ordered the portobello sandwich and it simply wasn't what I expected or what anyone would expect. I'd call it the arugula sandwich since it was a stack of arugula with very few thin slices of portobello mushrooms tucked away at the bottom and sun dried tomato sauce. I expected the sandwich to be mainly composed of the main ingredient in the title but it was such a skimpy little slice of mushroom, I'd hardly consider this a sandwich. The sauce was flavorful but I'd either add more ingredients or just a thick, more abundant amount of portobello mushroom(s). The ciabatta bun and greens were fresh so I'll give them that but just no. Very disappointing. Potato salad was thick and creamy tho it was hard to scoop out since it was so sticky. Still tasty though. My boyfriend was the lucky one with his meatball sandwich. Generous portion and excellent flavor. He was happy while I envied his filling meal. Staff was nice, and there's free popcorn too but I still left feeling incomplete and unsatisfied. Either remove the portobello mushroom sandwich from the menu or reduce the amount of greens to add more of the actual portobello mushroom. I'd stick with the meatier options if you decide to try this place out since the prices are decent. Best of luck with your choice. read more

Was walking around Niles for the first time, and Joes Corner popped up as a good option for a quick lunch. Unfortunately, I think we came on a bad day. The sandwich, the Spicy Joe, which on the Yelp photos I saw, looked great, was extremely disappointing. I've attached some photos and frankly this was just an embarrassing excuse of a Sandwich, especially not for 11$ or so. 3/4 of us ordered this and it was just a huge let down. Frankly felt like a bait and switch. It was described as spicy ham and spicy salami, but what I recieved was an assortment of low quality pepperonis and salamis, and at that not very many of them. Same goes for the peppers. My girlfriend ordered the pesto panini, but it was lacking meat, but was otherwise fine. Not much to mess up there. Potato Skins were ok. Pasta Salad was just ok as well, but we got it to share with table and it took a while to get enough forks for everyone. Got an arnold palmer and it was mediocre. I feel bad writing a bad review, but I just can't recommend this restaurant to anyone. I think the two women working were overwhelmed and needed some extra help. They were very nice, and that's why it's not a 2 star. For context we waited around 35 minutes for 4 sandwiches, and some pasta salad. The potato salad (which was really bland) was forgotten multiple times. It looks like a lovely spot on a good day, but unfortunately yesterday was not the day. read more

This place is cute. I went here with a group of friends and we were a little confused by the set up of the place. HINT: Walk through the two doors! We stood there for at least 5 minutes before figuring that out and no one approached us. When we got there, the place as a little bit empty, though quickly filled up as time went on. The service was great. After getting our sandwiches, we were trying to figure out whether we actually got the right ones and I mentioned that you had to specify your sandwich. Turns out my friend was given a different sandwich than she thought she ordered. I the owner overheard our conversation and immediately tried to fix the problem before my friend took a bite of her sandwich. I LOVE that kind of service. The restaurant operators also came back to ask how things were going, even though it was more of an order at the counter-type of place. This was the perfect place to catch up with a couple of friends and is a great option if you don't want to wait in any ginormous lines. read more

I just love this place. The people there are so nice, it's dog friendly and the beer selection is great! This has been an outdoor dining (aka drinking) staple for us during the pandemic. My only bit of feedback is maybe revamp the food menu a bit. There is just huge potential for this place! They could be one of the only unique (non-chain) good restaurants in fremont! I've been going to Joe's Corner for a couple of months and I really like the atmosphere, staff, variety of sandwiches and their range of beers that they offer. My favorite sandwich is the Spicy Joe Sandwiche with cherry peppers. And I've like all the other sandwiches that I've tried. Occasionally they have events organized with a band playing which was enjoyable and sounded well by quality and genre. The bar extends to the street sidewalk where you can sit and have you're dog by you. I like this establishment because I've always felt comfortable and liked what they had to offer as a business. read more

Great place to stop by for delicious sandwiches after strolling in Niles. The wait isn't long, and the customer service makes you feel right at home. I ordered the Ruben sandwich with potato salad which were both amazing. Right amount of meat and sauce. First time I tried sauerkraut, and they were kind enough to put on the side for them. I would come again to try their other sandwiches! Only reason why it's not 5 star for me is if it was a little cheaper, $9.50 for a sandwich is a bit pricey. read more

I came in for breakfast and the service was horrible ! They forgot my coffee & utensils. Got the breakfast sandwich and bread was too hard and hurt to bite in. This young lady who served me (who talked like a hippie) seemed to be high off her horse ! It was very dirty with cobwebs everywhere . I also saw that they had a fake cotton display and a picture of cotton on their wall!!! If that doesn't say racist then I don't know what does . That's unacceptable . I decided to come back and try the beer since it was my day off . Good happy hour ! But the manger named April helped me at the register and seemed very nervous and also seemed high on drugs. Greater Niles Village held its Holiday lunch for about 20 people at Joe's Corners this year. We wanted a local, informal spot with good food & good cheer. Joe's Corner was perfect. The food was great! - Pasta, meatballs, salad, bread, cookies and drinks. The meatballs were a big hit. Joe's has lots of interesting local beers and good wine choices. Did I mention the meatballs? I pass by this place often and today was my first time there. There is a very welcoming feel to this place. There are two bars, one in the entrance and one in the main hallway. At the very end of the restaurant is a huge flat screen TV. The place is kept VERY clean and inviting. The only downside is that seating can get quite awkward if you have groups larger than four. They have deli-style sandwiches, paninis, and a variety of appetizers and desserts. I ordered the turkey pesto panini. They had put too much pesto on the panini making it somewhat soggy, and overpowering the panini. Their italian sub was fine. The trophy goes to their meatballs however. They give you 8 pieces for $6 which was okay in my book. The staff is friendly and makes you feel right at home. I will definitely be back again. If you and a couple of your buddies need a place to go for some brewskies and to watch some sports, then give this place a go! read more

Not what I expected! Looks like a bar from the outside. haha!! Service was 5 star! Super friendly, they made it feel like you were at someones home. Food was served hot just the way I like it. I ordered the Mozzerella and Pesto Panini with Pasta Salad. Very flavorful and really good prices! An employee walked by with a bowl of Clam Chowder and I had to try it. Glad I did!! Been walking by this place for decades and never stopped in. Mostly because we usually go to Niles for the Antique Shops. We decided to go over for lunch and chose Joe's Corner. we each got a sandwich and a beer. I got the Pastrami Coleslaw Crunch Sandwich and Joe's IPA. My wife got the Reuben Panini and the Marshmallow Chocolate Stout. The beer selection alone will bring us back. The sandwiches were pretty good also. Not Michelin Star, but definitely a good sandwich. The Pastrami sandwich was packed with flavor and loaded with meat and coleslaw (although the coleslaw is basically just shredded cabbage and carrots with maybe a lite vinaigrette - not a mayo based dressing) . The Reuben was hot and crispy and loaded with meat and cheese. They didn't have one of the beers we wanted so, the bar tender took $1 off our order - not necessary, but a nice gesture. What a delightful cafe! I love the low key NIles area and Joe's Corner is a great add. It looks like used to be a bar and has been converted into this cafe and they have kept the bar section which is a nice touch. They serve sandwiches, pastries, beer, wine and coffee of course. I tried the hot chocolate and prosciutto plate that came with bread and their house dipping sauce and it was yummy! Service was great. The owners stopped by to say hello. Their extended family was there visiting as well and they all were super nice and friendly. Great location and nice venue. The open bar area out front is frequented by locals regularly, especially during nice weather. The inside is dated, but comfortable. I can't comment on the food - the establishment changed hands, I suspect in 2018, and I've not eaten there. Joe's Corner offers a decent beer selection and it's very cool that it's place where people with dogs are able to enjoy a beer. Two-star rating because in my experience, customer service from this new management is definitely lacking. The first time I was there I recall the new owner (who I didn't know was the owner) was a little off-putting. To be honest, I don't remember the details, but it had to do with finding a place sit. He inquired if I was looking for something, but once I gave him my response, he just went on about his business. On the day I write this, what prompted me was a phone call to inquire about a private event. The person on the phone didn't say they would be able to help me, so instead asked questions as though she was going to pass it along. First she said the manager/owner wasn't there, but then when I mentioned it was for renting their space she simply said "we don't do that" and hung up. I find that rude, but maybe it's just me. Furthermore, I can't confirm it's since the new ownership, but I have seen signs from time to time that say 'closed for private event'. read more
