First time diner! Came for lunch with friends. The interior is adorable and the bar is gorgeous. There's an open kitchen design so you can watch the pizza oven. My sister and I shared a funghi pizza and a margarita. The mushroom was delicious, but super-rich. Dare I say, less cheese might be better. I absolutely loved the simple flavors of the margarita pizza and determined it to be exquisite. The Neopolitan crust is marvelous! Friends had the chicken pesto orecchiette and The Godfather sandwich. The pesto dish was beautiful and the pesto was mild--more pine nutty than basil. Needed more parm in my friend's opinion. I thought the burrata was amazing. The sandwich was a huge meat bomb and was accompanied by a side salad. I'd go back to try many other entrees and I'll sit at the bar, which felt more intimate. Staff were all friendly and accommodating.

We walked in and we're immediately greeted by Carson. We sat at the bar and started with an old-fashioned and a strawberry fields. We decided to start with arancinis. We then split the fig and pig which was perfectly balanced and delicious. We got two pizzas to bring left overs home. They were both full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We also took cannolis to go. Everything was clean and well taken care of. We especially liked the cards in the bathroom that said if this needs to be taken care of hand to a staff member, it shows that they care. Their lunch menu is only appetizers, salads, sandwiches, and pizzas. We both wanna go back for dinner.. it was really fun celebrating my sister's birthday there today.

I have been eyeing Joelle on Instagram since they opened 10 months ago. I finally made the trip out to Bluffton from Savannah for a late lunch and I'm so glad I did! The restaurant was gorgeous and even had parking. We were immediately greeted and were able to pick our own table. The restaurant was quiet so the service was quick and efficient. We only ordered soda water and 2 pizzas, so the food came quick as well. I had the margarita pizza and it was delicious. The crust and sauce are made in house and you can taste how fresh it all is. The pizzas were served stacked on a tower. I love when restaurants do this to preserve the table space! I can't wait to return and try their house made pastas next time! The dinner menu and lunch menus are different. There is a window into the kitchen and we were able to watch the chefs prepare this evenings spaghetti.

Stopping over in Bluffton on a road trip to Rhode Island we really enjoyed the food. See pictures as well as the drinks and it was very calm and peaceful atmosphere and the servers were helpful and social.

Very nice place. Food was very good. I had the veal chop that was excellent. It was served with a steak knife but you could cut it with your fork. Served with a bright arugula salad. My wife had the Bucatini and it was fresh and very tasty. We sat a booth at the bar. I would recommend sitting at the bar or get a normal table over this. Service was a bit slow but very friendly and helpful. Overall a solid experience, we will return.

We had an amazing birthday dinner at Joelle. My husband is pretty particular about his pizza. He often reminisces about time spent consuming the best pizzas in Italy. Well, let me just say that Joelle has made us superfans! The pizza was unbelievably good. The REAL DEAL! We ordered the amazing 'Pig & Fig' salad. Huge portion and just delish! The tiramisu is so creamy and good. We had a new to the biz server, but she was exceptional. I actually went up to the owner and told him what a rockstar she was. If she didn't know something, she would rush off to find the answer. Very attentive! The interior is quite pretty too. Stopped at Joelle for a quick lunch, decided to order a Salciccia pizza to have half for lunch and half for dinner later. I am slightly ashamed to say that it was so addicting that I ate the whole thing in one sitting. The service was stellar, great music volume. The overall ambiance was great as well... VERY CLEAN. We stopped into Joelle on a Sunday evening to eat at the bar. We immediately noticed a foul odor. The seats near the door were chilly, so we walked down to the other end, passing someone talking to a couple at the bar booth who had to stand to let us by. We sat at the bar for ten minutes with no service, and it turned out the person talking to the couple was the bartender, who ignored the fact that we were waiting. We left and received a half-hearted apology. We were disappointed because we loved Joelle, but we won't be returning. read more

Food was excellent Service was beyond excellent, but the fool in the kitchen cursing (yelling the "F" word) at the NICE waitresses is UNACCEPTABLE! We knew the waitress that walked out, she has great customer skills and the other waitress helped us with a smile even after being subjected to verabal abuse! read more

Ordered veal scaloppini , out of veal at 5:45 on Thursday. They told me they could do it with chicken. I was like ok. It came out with chicken covered in mozzarella cheese and on rigatoni pasta. After months of trying to get a reservation, we finally got in to the restaurant. I liked the limited menu, the salad that I had was arugula, fig and prosciutto with a balsamic vinaigrette, was an excellent choice. The main course was wild boar loin also very nice. Second visit here, had reservations for our group of 5, upon arrival they were slammed and our table wasn't ready. This place went over the top to make it right, and our evening was saved. Great food and service! Our waiter, Chris, was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. My husband and I had the pig and fig salad which was amazing and more than enough for two. My husband had the lamb osso buco, which was so good. I had the spaghetti all amatrician which was not that spicy but had a nice warm flavor. Our reservation was at 6pm on a Sunday. It was slow and somewhat quiet until about 630. Then it got crowded and noisy afterwards, which doesn't make for a romantic dinner. read more

We went for lunch on the weekend. They were out of all soft drinks besides Diet Coke which was a little strange since they seem to have a full bar. The waiter did make us a lemonade since they didn't have sprite. The polenta fries were good. My husband liked the sausage sandwich. My caprese sandwich was suuuuper salty. It was like they accidentally dumped the salt into the chicken breading and the pesto. It's a shame because it would have been really good but after I ate it I was a little worried about my sodium levels, and I like salt! The dressing on the greens was weird, not sure what kind it was. I've been spending my summers in Bluffton for 65 years, and I can honestly say this was one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, every member of the staff made us feel genuinely welcome. The hostess graciously worked us in, even though they were not expecting us. When I asked if we could move outside because we had an infant with us and didn't want to disturb other diners, the manager couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating. He moved our table without hesitation and made us feel like it was a pleasure--not an inconvenience. Our server, Andreas, was absolutely exceptional. His attentiveness, warmth, and genuine care elevated an already wonderful meal. By the time we left, we felt like family. The food was incredible from start to finish, but the baked ricotta appetizer deserves a special mention--I would come back just for that! Thank you to Andreas and the entire team at Joelle for your outstanding hospitality! Experiences like this are rare, and you have earned customers for life. read more

The restaurant features an open-air kitchen with a wrap-around bar; I was introduced to the chef and was able to speak with him in my (limited) Italian. It was truly wonderful to hear and feel his enthusiasm for excellent, northern Italian cooking! The menu is very small...and that is a good thing. By focussing on only a few dishes, the chef and his team are able to provide an unforgettable culinary experience. The highlight of our dinner was the halibut collar which, if you've never enjoyed, I highly recommend. OH. MY. GOD. Although I have enjoyed many fish courses in my life, this is, was, and remains one of those special meals which I shall remember for a very long time. It was truly exceptional: rhythmic with flavour and firm with texture, sauced gently but appropriately and (absolutely) served piping hot on the plate. I must confess I do not recall the other dishes but they were all very good. I believe there was a squid hors-d'oeuvre which I enjoyed, and a very special 'Black Leather' cocktail (?). We started with cocktails. I ordered The Radici, which had mezcal and beet juice, certainly not a common combination in my experience. They have an aperol spritz equivalent that my mother and girlfriend raved over as quite refreshing. The meal started with an oyster as an amuse bouche, a great local touch given the popularity of oysters in the area. Stuck with seafood for the first course, with halibut flan being something I'm still a bit confused by as a concept, though that did not stop me from enjoying it. The second course continued to be innovative relative to what is usually found in the area, with ravioli stuffed with broth and filling on the outside. Third course was lamb, and was well done. Finally dessert was a roasted panettone for Christmas Eve that was very tasty with chocolate cream. One small improvement would be the option to pair the tasting menu with wine selections, but we were able to get along fairly well with some help from the waiter ordering a couple of bottles of wine. Overall a welcome addition to the area that I could easily see myself returning to when in town.

However, the music that evening didn't really match the Southern motif or aesthetics. Our waitress was courteous and helpful, answering our questions. Despite the restaurant being mostly empty, it took a while to get our order, partly because the waitress was alone, and the manager--who barely acknowledged us and was mostly on her phone--was present. When the food finally arrived, the portions were generous. I had fried fish, though I couldn't tell if it was catfish. It came with French fries, a hush puppy tasting like fried dough, coleslaw that seemed to have sat out too long and was small in portion, and fried okra with little seasoning, tasting more of flour than cornmeal breading. This was disappointing, though it might reflect "Low Country" cooking. Overall, the restaurant seemed to emphasize branding and decor over authentic history. The best South Carolina cuisine I found was near Saint Helena Island, close to some historic sites, where the food was noticeably better and the vibe felt genuine, especially in spots rich with landmarks.
