Stopped into Joe on the Go while visiting the Conestoga area of Lancaster County, PA (Amish Country).
Basically, we found Joe on the Go by accident while driving through the town of Lampeter, and it was an excellent find! Super cool.
Joe's is a modern farmhouse café with traditional, cozy charm combined with a modern coffee bistro vibe.
Joe's serves locally roasted coffee from "Lonely Monk Roasters", featuring a blend designed just for Joe on the Go.
The beans come from Central America and Southwest Asia, producing a smooth, balanced cup of coffee.
Like other coffee bistros, they offer a variety of pastries, muffins, and other treats.
The farmhouse vibe continues into the dining area, which has an open-concept layout while maintaining its warm, historic charm. Brick fireplaces, hardwood floors, plenty of table seating, and even a private back room for meetings or group gatherings make this a comfortable place to hang out.
What we really liked was that, unlike many other coffee bistros, Joe's serves some outstanding, creatively prepared dishes.
The menu is relatively short, focusing on a handful of refined, custom dishes alongside some traditional favorites. They also offer soups, salads, flatbreads, and quiche, with vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free options available.
The menu is divided into two main categories: "All Day Breakfast" and "All Day & Mid-Day Favorites."
From the all-day breakfast menu, we chose the "Breakfast Croissant." Served with a pimento spread, egg, and sausage, it came with a side of crispy roasted potatoes (crunchy and delicious) and a side of garlic aioli that was off-the-charts delicious!
From the Mid-Day Favorites menu, we ordered the "Not Your Average Avo," which comes with an avocado-lime crema.
Seriously, these dishes were well-crafted, featured high-quality ingredients, and had outstanding flavors!
In addition I had the pleasure of speaking with the owner, Nathan, who explained that Joe on the Go started as a custom mobile coffee trailer catering to both public and private events.
When this location became available, he took a leap of faith and opened his bistro and restaurant.
The corner property where Joe on the Go is located also features a wine bar and lounge, with a boutique upstairs. Overall, it's a really nice setup!
If you're in the area, Joe on the Go is a must-stop for a cup of Joe, a delicious bite to eat, or simply a place to relax and do some surfing on your computer.
