But I just find everything sort of like your big sister's dinner prep when Mom has to work. It's edible but not necessarily enjoyable. Still people love diner fare and with such a huge menu of choices it's a wonder anything tastes remarkable. I think that's it in a nutshell. It's unremarkable. Not bad, but not good either. The 3rd floor rooms had access to a full kitchen, with pots, sink, stove, and refrigerator. The refrigerator also had complimentary drinks, which we took often since it was almost 100 degrees F. The upper floor rooms were all decorated by Clair and Tait, which is a major employer in the city. Each room had rock memorabilia, which was cool. The hotel was quiet and the staff were all wonderful. My husband and I would definitely stay again. Please note though, that the historic Inn has no elevator and rooms are reached by stair cases off the lobby.

The doors are heavy and the entrance narrow. The bathrooms could accommodate a wheelchair if the doors weren't so narrow. I imagine they have some kind of historical variance allowing them to be so inaccessible. Service was slow but with a smile. Servers were friendly and fellow diners chatty as well. Most food offerings are $10 or less. I ordered a blueberry pancake, plate sized and full of blueberries. I wanted to put butter on it but those hard little butter pats were not going to work. My mom also got pancakes. They were filling, not particularly yummy but considering our total bill was under $20 including iced teas I didn't complain. Some of the desserts looked yummy. Apparently there is an attached space for possibly a larger party but it was closed for construction. Otherwise it is pretty much booth space for 4 or the counter.
