Love this spot. Anytime I've got a free day and I want to spend it in Studio City, Joan's is usually where I grab lunch. The interior is clean and beautiful. If the weather's nice, snag a table out on the pet-friendly patio and count all the different doggos. My go-to order is the Chinese Chicken Salad with grilled chicken instead of breaded chicken. It seems like a simple salad, but don't be fooled: you get a lot and it's deceptively filling. I occasionally grab an iced oat milk matcha when I'm there and it's great. Service can vary depending on the time of day that you go. I'd say expect to wait at least 15 mins if you order at the counter from the menu. It's clean and filled with purposefully dressed casual clientele. Unfortunately, the quality of their food just didn't live up to the hype. The turkey meatloaf sandwich was disappointing. The meatloaf tasted more like tofu based vegan meatloaf; the texture was mushy. The bread was dry, too. The chicken Milanese was equally disappointing. The think cutlet was dry and lacked flavor. Couldn't even tell it was chicken. The short rib sandwich was decent. The grilled bread gave it the necessary texture. The side dishes were lacking as well. The egg salad was literally just smashed boiled eggs with mayo. Would've been nice to have a little extra something like relish, Dijon mustard, or chives. That being said it was a decent size for a lunch option, and I was full and satisfied with just that. I've also had their Brussels sprouts salad, along with a few other salad options from there. All of them have been pretty decent, but honestly Mendocino farms down the street is better and cheaper. Their fries are a staple and I get them often to snack on. But save your money on the coffee and get it from literally anywhere else. They will always have something that peaks your interest, which is why they get 4 stars. Hey everyone, hope you all had a great Memorial Day weekend 2023. It's always nice to spend a holiday with family or close friends rather than with nobody! I drove out from Long Beach Ca to have a nice lunch with my friend in Studio City. We walked in and took in the interior, it's very bright and cute in there. I asked an employee behind the counter if there were menus available, she handed me a paper menu and told my friend and I to order with her or with any other person behind the register. We went to a register (with a person behind it) and she directed to us the first employee that helped us. My friend ordered the tuna sandwich in a rush because the young woman was on a very important task (labeling to go containers). It was my time to shine, I ordered the maple honey chicken sandwich or something, then I asked for an Orangina to which the young lady asked me what that was because she couldn't find it on the register. After a quick explanation in my best English she interrupted me and found it on the screen and said they were sold out. Sadness began to creep up but I settled for an Ollipop and remembered I had a Tropi Licious at home so it was okay. I wanted to ask about a few other items on the menu but I didn't want my girls stress to affect me so I just added some "potato sticks" from the counter. We sat down and I opened the potato sticks which are just stale fries, another dip in the oil and you might be on to something. Might as well call em medium rare fries. The chicken sandwich was VERY successful, the taste buds were BUDDING. Shout out to my sandwich artist in there ;) sheesh. My friend liked her tuna sandwich but just as she was about to bite into some hard ass bread, I locked eyes with none other than Corey Matthew's. Talk about a blast from the past! I interrupted my friend from the non chewable bread to tell her about my star sighting. I would've loved to have gotten dessert but that would be for my next trip at your other location. After feeling extremely uncomfortable when I spotted this man staring at my friend and I knew it was a wrap and time to dip. I went to throw away my garbage while my friend went to the bathroom and the bus boy came by to help us rush out too. He touched my friends purse and picked it up, I immediately noticed it didn't match his outfit so I kindly told him we weren't done just so he would scoot on away because its kind of weird when a stranger grabs your purse. I cleared my own table with ease, the dirty dishes are standing in front of the restaurant so that was helpful. read more

Returned home to devour our salads and realized they forgot to pack the dressing for our Chinese chicken salad. We decided to call and just let them know. Ok!!! After speaking with someone over the phone, they must have informed management and their response was to DELIVER a salad dressing to our house!!!! Keep in mind, we do live a few miles away. Go up to the cashier, order your food, once you are done ordering, they hand you a number, go find you a seat and place your number on the metal stand and your food will arrive based on your number. Muffin is fresh. Coffee was delicious. Eating area is very clean and cozy. All this area needs is a fireplace and it can easily become a coffee shop with a country cozy feel. I love the atmosphere. I can't come here without ordering the salad trio. It's by far my favorite thing here. You get to choose 3 differ t salad options for your bowl and it's the best. I always get the couscous salad which has cranberries and pine nuts in it, the kale salad which has a delicious dressing (and I hate dressing normally), and the tuna salad which is everything I want and more!
