Decent food. I had ordered some steak and eggs with hashbrowns, while my wife had the country fried steak and country potatoes. We also shared a plate of pancakes, which she LOVED. Straight to the point, my Sunnyside up eggs were perfectly cooked, and my steak was mediocre, yet cooked medium, as I ordered. I'm not going to hold that against them, considering the price, the type of meat, and the fact they did cook it medium, as ordered. To be expected. As for my wife, she loved her food. Even though she ordered hash browns, they brought out country potatoes. We didn't make a big deal of this, but I know other people would have, so I thought I'd throw that out there. We shared both hash and potatoes, so no big deal. Service is great, portions are big, so we recommend trying this place. Only gripe is they don't serve Eggs Benedict on a daily basis, and isn't on their menu. read more

My wife and I were tired of all the usual breakfast places and were blessed to find this little cafe. The food was amazing. Everything was fresh and you could taste the quality. I ordered the spinach omelette which was delicious. I had a side of potatoes and biscuits with gravy. All were cooked to perfection. I didn't plan to write this so my food was long gone before I could take any pictures (sorry). My wife had the French toast meal which was also very good. The French toast was light and fresh and the bacon was crispy and delicious. Lastly the service was perfect. Joanna was our server. She was very kind and gracious to us for trying her family's cafe. Really is a hidden gem in Perris. Our family came here for breakfast during soccer tournament. Not much around in Perris but this place is super great for home cooked, down to earth breakfast/bruch foods. We ordered crepes, french toast and the hash special. The poached eggs were somewhat overdone, and the OJ tasted like it came from concentrate. My favorite local breakfast place! I eat breakfast here once every one to two weeks and I love it. I've sampled the nutty waffles, stuffed crepes, eggs benedict, and amazing bacon. I went to Joanna's with my wife and son today and when we walked in a gentleman told us to sit anywhere. Ten minutes later we had not been offered a drink - they were not busy, in fact, there were only 4 other tables with customers and at least 5 employees. Following a Funeral Service at Riverside National Cemetery, my wife and I were looking for a place to get a bite to eat. Unfortunately we don't live in the Riverside area so, returning frequently isn't an option, but if you visiting Riverside National Cemetery or do live in the area, Joanna's is a diamond in the rough. It's a quiet unassuming restaurant. Respectfully, stated the hole in the wall type restaurant, hidden in plain state. The food was really good & well prepared, while the prices were very affordable, dare I say cheap! This is the kind of family owned and operated eating establishment that deserves all 5 stars and more! I would highly recommend. The new owners are absolutely amazing. They have cleaned the restaurant up and kept the same menu but the food is so much better. We stopped going years ago but decided to try it again after neighbors raved about it. We've been multiple times since January and the food is always served hot and fresh. The chile verde is probably the best I've had. I usually get the chile relleno omelette and get some chile verde on the side to pour on Top for added spiciness. The salsa, relleno and chile verde are all made fresh. The potatoes are the same as Lori made them too. Don't even bother ordering takeout. I ordered a frittata today. They said it would take 20 minutes to make. Showed up and they hadn't even started it. THERE WERE ONLY 2 CUSTOMERS IN THE ENTIRE OLACE AND ONE IF THE WAITRESSES WAS SITTING THERE ON HER PHONE DOING NOTHING. Got home and found out they had forgotten half of the order, no gravy on the frittata and toast still white. They may have cleaned up the restaurant but their service is awful! read more

The waitstaff was very nice. The place is small and has an old hometown diner feel with lots of decor. It reminded me of places I'd go with my grandparents back east when I was young. The tables where we were sitting were pretty close together, my daughter's chair was actually blocking someone into their booth so she had to move aside from the table when they wanted to leave. Just left there. When we arrived there was chaos. Dirty tables everywhere. The young waitress was instructed twice by an older woman to seat us then she just pointed. The table next to ours was covered on glass as the window was destroyed. The floor was sticky. Wow. The waitress brought my water and then poured a half a cup of lukewarm coffee and walked away again. We got up, I handed her $3 for the coffee and we got out of there. Deserves the great Yelp reviews for both food and service! Breakfast of waffles, eggs and bacon, and an omelette was fresh and delicious. Sunnyside eggs cooked perfect. Waffle served with HOT syrup, was a nice touch. New owner provided friendly, attentive service. He brought my daughter, a cinnamon waffle (on the specials board) to try, which she liked even more than her Belgium Waffle. Will be back! read more
