Really nice little spot for breakfast! I had Eggs Benedict for breakfast and my friend had a Denver omelette and juice. They both came with delicious country potatoes and we left happy and full! Price was average, and there were a lot of menu options that looked good! I'll have to come back to try their french toast some time. Thought we would give this place a try since I had heard great things. Too bad it was not what we had hoped. Wish the staff was friendlier. Told to sit anywhere which is fine, it took awhile to see our waitress when I could see into the back of the kitchen and she was just talking to another girl . Service was not friendly, never greeted or asked how we where, not any of the staff smiled except for one waitress but she wasn't ours lol.... now the food was good. Went to Joanna's Cafe after seeing they had a lot of breakfast options, and everything looked tasty. As soon as you walk in, you're told to pick a seat. It's a small restaurant, maybe 15 tables. It's very very simple. The menu is large, and gives great descriptions like "topped with warm buttery syrup", or "tasty and authentic". Unfortunately, that is a lie. The syrup comes in servings of about 2 tablespoons in a plastic throw away cup. The authentic and tasty, is also a lie. The steak had no taste, at all. The biscuits in gravy looked great, but literally tasted like nothing. It wasn't bad, there just was no taste. The hash browns had no seasoning, the Chilaquiles had no flavor, and was soggy. The only thing that had any flavor was the bacon. French toast was cold upon arrival, over easy eggs were brought out over hard. There was 2 younger women and an older man and woman. Older man and woman, who weren't our servers were really polite, and checked on us. The 2 younger women were rude, didn't smile once, or even greet us. She walked up to our table and said "you ready to order". After asking for our check as they were speeding by our table 3 tables we finally just walked up in the desk they use for a register, and she didn't say a word. She put the bill on the counter and pointed at the table. If the food was great, or even okay the service probably wouldn't have matter, but you can literally get food with more flavor at Jack in the Box. Don't waste your money here. They don't understand the concept of spices, flavor, or even how to properly cook eggs. read more

This is the worst service I've ever received. Asked the hostess how long the wait was, she said it was 20mims. It was more like 40 because they'd forgotten about us. We got sat and still waited another 10mins for someone to take our order. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy and I got the streak and eggs. We waited another 20mins for our food. They only good thing from both of our breakfasts were the biscuits and gravy. My streak was so well done and dry I couldn't eat it. It was only after the waitress noticed I was bothered by their service that she start to pay attention to us. Don't we get wrong. I work in the restaurant service but this was not okay. My husband and I decided to try Joanna's Cafe for lunch. We've been there for breakfast and were happy but had never tried lunch, so, why not? We want to support small business in our area. I was in the mood for a burger. The menu lists their "juicy" burgers, I just wanted something simple so I asked for a cheeseburger, well done, with lettuce, tomato, onion. What type of cheese comes on that I ask? The server responded, "yellow". Yellow? What? So I ask, "American or cheddar"? Cheddar. Ok, I'm not fond of cheddar on a burger but I'll go with it. I ask for fries with that. My husband orders a beef sandwich. Our food arrives. I taste the fries. The fries tasted stale. You know how when you let your fries go cold and then warm them in the microwave? That's how they tasted. Stale and mealy. Yuck. The burger was not "juicy" but a bit dry (maybe my fault) and no onion was to be found. The beef on my husband's sandwich appeared to be sandwich meat someone bought at Stater Brothers. Overall, not a great meal, and if it's not great, why eat it? I can only speak to what we ordered, the other lunch items may be terrific, but we were left disappointed. Tried Joanna's this morning for breakfast,husband loved the bacon as he said was not too thick, not thin, it was perfect and tasty and we both enjoyed the pancakes. I tried the eggs Benedict but lost a star for egg a tad over cooked. Sauce was tasty and loved the thicker cut ham. I had to try a side order of the hash. I loved that they added bell peppers and onions to it and served Crispy! Yes! Perfection! The family owned cafe are sweet ladies and shows true pride of ownership. I didnt mind the dirt. The menu is awesome. Huge, something for everyone and thoughtfully done. I had one 7 frittattas. It was completely authentic and delicious. I was impressed! Lori's is the perfect spot for a family brunch or an easy lunch. It is country-cute, and the staff is like an extension of family. The food is just good! Okay, so the restaurant won't be getting Michelin stars anytime soon, but its really filling and tasty. Classic country-style breakfast fare, like homestyle skillets, omelets, potatoes, flapjacks, and such. They do even serve eggs benedict, which is decent. They didn't even mind when I asked for the eggs bene with bacon instead of ham. And that really is why Lori's is awesome. They make everything just how you want it. The omelets can have anything on 'em you want, even if they do think its a little weird that I order just spinach sometimes LoL. They will cook the bacon, the eggs, the toast, the anything however you want it, and they always get it right. Warning! New owners.This is not the same Cafe (Lori's) that it used to be. The huevos rancheros are now basically three little tostadas topped with a table spoon of beans and an egg served with some potatoes on the side, not the ranch style breakfast you expect. No rice. No beans. No red or green sauce. No salsa. No meat. No tortillas to pick it all up with. Nice people have bought this restaurant, but this was a rip off at $12. When I pointed out my disappointment, they made no offer to remedy it or give me something else. They happily took my credit card, though. I will not return. I can make this at home myself for $2. When I sat down, I was asked if I wanted water and was given a menu. A lady came by asked if I'd been helped. I said yes . So she took the menu I had laid down (since I'd already decided what to order). The water and brought, but then no one returned to take my order for ten minutes. I had to flag down the waitress. At the table next to me, a guy bought them menus when they were expecting their check. Yes! They had already eaten. This is a small restaurant and they were not terribly busy. What a shame. This place is a hole-in-the-wall type place. I felt like I was out on hwy 395 somewhere. It has that small town locals feeling which i like. I was excited when I saw the menu. Lots of choices. I went with my favorite brunch restaurant meal- Eggs Benedict with homecut potatoes. I gotta be honest.... nothing to ironically write home about. My eggs were slightly overcooked but still some running yoke. The English muffin was not good. Way over toasted and just hard to cut with my knife. My home-cut potatoes lacked for flavor and really didn't taste fresh. I like my food served piping hot. Mine was just warm but not hot. My son ordered a salad and they brought him a oval bowl of shredded lettuce covered by 2 massive slices of a steak cut tomato - It did not resemble a salad at all.
