I come to Joann mostly for beads and am very satisfied with the variety and prices. They often have discounts (50% off, 60% off, buy 3 get 3 free) so make sure you keep an eye out for those. If you're over with Michaels and Hobby Lobby, Joann is a great option for your jewelry making hobby. This location specifically, I feel like it is quite empty compared to other Joanns in the ATX area. The cashier, however, takes a longgggg time. First let me say that I absolutely prefer to support my local quilt shops... but sometimes I need something for a project on a Sunday morning and Joann is my only option. The store doesn't APPEAR to be that busy but the wait for everything takes longer than it should. One person at the cutting table and 5 people in line. Each person is getting chatted up with no regard to efficiency. Then when 2 people joined her, apparently coming off a break, and offered her help cutting, her response was "no. I've got it. Just put things away" Now I've been here enough to know that neither of these people are new. They've both helped me in the past. Then, ready to check out, there is literally one person at the register but I saw at least 3 people in the aisles that work here. I know they are chapter 11 and honestly I can see why but these issues happen EVERY time I've been in here and it makes me loathe shopping here. TL/DR- plan plenty of time if shopping here. I've been here twice and the first time was a disaster due to being understaffed, there was one cashier and the line wrapped through the inside of the store. I had to put my items back because the wait would've been over 15 minutes. The second time I went back I was pleasantly surprised! No line whatsoever and was helped by a cashier by the name of Grace. This is an excellent Joann's. I have been here a few times and I have never been disappointed. The people who work here are always very kind and helpful. They have a vast array of craft items to choose from. You can find painting, sewing, beading , latch hook , the list goes on. They have a very good supply and their shelves are well stocked. The Store is very clean and comfortable. I love the smell of This store. The smell of fresh clean fabric is very nice. Their items are not very expensive. Today I got a counted cross stitch kit, Embroidery scissors, DMC embroidery needles, a very nice hoop, a stuffed animal for my granddaughter And a very nice reusable gift bag. My total was only $45! I go to Joann fabrics since I started quilting. They are the only store I have found that sells a variety of dog prints. They have prints that have dogs on them as well as a good variety of paw prints. I love dogs and have made several quilts with paw prints. The employees are very helpful assisting me in what I need. I have been there probably 6-8 times checking for new fabrics and it seems like my fabric is always on sale. If they aren't then I can use a coupon from the Joann app and get a discount. I haven't really looked around the rest of the store but it seems clean and organized from the areas I have walked through. read more

We haven't been to this location but recently visited here and it was great. It was great new clean well organized and bright. It was stocked with everything we needed and at a reasonable cost. Parking was abundant and the parking lot was well lighted. The shopping center is huge and requires so getting used too. My guess if you can't find it at South Park meadows it doesn't exist. read more

My experience recently at Joann's was great. I didn't know you could download the app and get more discounts until I heard the cashier and my mother talking about it. Pulled myself out of line so I could download the app, log into my account and then went up to check out. While at check out the cashier went thru my account on my phone to make sure I was getting all the discounts possible; which resulted in me saving another $20. So my experience was awesome! Once I exited the store and talked with my mother about her experience she said that the cashier didn't use her rewards info on her app because she had already scanned her own account; which seems shady shady shady! read more

I went to this location today to purchase items for my sons science project. While I do not by any means deem myself a crafter, 'creative type' or anything of the sorts, I do know how to use a hot glue gun and can paint up a storm! Accordingly, when I went to buy paints and glue sticks, I knew precisely what I needed for this project. I also required two half foam cricles to complete the project. However, the foam half circles they did have were damaged. When I asked an employee if there were other circles, I was advised there were no more in the store. While this Joanne's is the nearest to my residence, I find that this location often has a lower supply of inventory than other locations. While this Joann's location is busier than the Round Rock location, there are more options for fabric at this one. I was able to find quite a few nice things that were also on clearance which is always a bonus. The counter at this one uses a number system which is a bit outdated compared to the counters where you can type in your numbers but the workers at the cutting table are nice and I've had no problems with them. Some of the prices on other things can be on the higher side I'd recommend coming during clearance sales for some nice fabric scores. This is in a crowded mall so sometimes parking can be a bit challenging. read more

Ordering online & picking up here was a nightmare! Two of my items were unavailable, despite one item allegedly having 19 yards in stock. Later found out that fabric "was under lots of heavy boxes", which in my opinion is a poor excuse not to pull it out when the order was for nearly $100! I would have gladly gotten the bolt myself, if asked. drove an hour each way because this was the closest store with all my items IN stock. Definitely would have been wiser to pay for shipping rather than using 4+ gallons of gas & spending 4 hours (drive time plus twiddling my thumbs around the store while the manager pulled my items. Hobby Lobby is opening a 58,000 sq. foot store on the corner of Braker & Research..... just a few blocks from JoAnn's Fabrics JF (Joann Fabric) has always been my favorite. I took a sewing course there, the fabric lady's are so nice & helpful I've been given good advice for many of my projects. I even considered applying recently because I've seen them struggle with having enough people to assist with the customer demand. Well that certainly changed a few minutes ago. Feb. 4th 10515 N. Mopac Austin TX. Location around 10:30am. Yesterday I had received a notice my order was ready 2/3 - I left the house and forgot my phone so I went inside the store and looked around for a store person. I wasn't aware of the online order procedure, the signs that were there are no longer there. So I went inside, There was 1 Cashier & over 12 people in line. I ended up in the Fabric Dept., there were 2 ladys with green aprons & another lady standing there. There was 1 customer waiting for Fabric. I said Excuse me Ma'am where do you go to pick-up an Online Order, the young girl was about to speak and the white lady without an apron said you have to go to the front to the Cashier I said oh, there's 1 lady and 20 people in line, she said I kNOW that's how they scheduled us one at the register, I'm about to head up there! your just going to have to stand in line like the rest of the customers! THANK YOU! woah! I have NEVER been treated like that by anyone at JA! I didn't stand in line, I left & decided my project could wait. I placed a new order last night & decided to get up early & pick-up the original order. (I was hoping by the time I got to the store the 2nd one was ready & I could avoid going into the store & dealing with that rude lady. I tapped "on my way" it said something went wrong so I went inside. When I approached the cashier lady she was already working on my order. She wasn't able to locate my 2nd order so she called for assistance. Here comes Theresa with the bag. She said what the items were I showed her my order and pics of the items on my phone she said, "geesh man you got to give us some time to get this ready, I mean "Did you EVEN get an email confirmation"?!. I looked at her and said "Do you always talk to your customers like that"? and walked out so upset! clear & simple If Theresa wasn't ready to walk her butt to front of the store & drop off my package when she submitted it was "ready for pick-up", then why did she submit the notification to let the Customer know to come on it & pick-up??? WHY is Theresa processing online orders, "submitting completed" and chastising the customer who came in to pick-up the order as instructed?? Really you treat people this way? I called back and spoke to the Cashier and she told me it was Theresa. I explained exactly what I wrote here about my experience with her 2/3 in the Fabric Dept. What was Theresa doing in the Fabric Dept. with 2 Employees & 1 customer?? She was avoiding have to work the register. I can't tell you how many times over this past Holiday season I have seen Cashiers instead of wanting to help check customers out, they start taking Merchandise back to be put on shelves that were left upfront in the bins. Yeah even one mgr. at the store caught the Cashier & made her step back to her register! LOL I have endless amounts of projects and deep pockets to spend where ever I like and I tell you now, it won't be at Joann's Fabrics until that women Theresa is fired. There is no way she should be setting this type of an example to those other employees. I never got an apology on the phone from the Cashier, like I'm sorry you were treated this way, nothing. Right now with all of this virus stuff going on not only are you gonna wait for 4 hours to maybe not even get in the store but I would honestly take my chance being coughed in the face than to go into this location it is on a normal day disgustingly dirty can't imagine after letting people go that it will be any better. We are reupholstering an ottoman and a bench. Came here looking for fabric. Prices range from low to high depending on what you need. The store overall has great prices and friendly employees. Just remember to take a number at the fabric counter. It is usually a long wait. The register is just as bad, always a wait. But we like the store & will shop here as needed. I'll start my review by admitting that I am the least crafty person you will ever meet in your life. I can't draw straight lines, cut straight, color in the lines, or do anything that requires any type of artistic ability. So, I had this brilliant plan to reupholster my dining room chairs. I went to Joanns to try to find some vinyl to cover are microfiber chairs since we have a toddler who gets everything dirty. I am shocked that the chairs turned out as beautifully as they did. The lady behind the counter, should me the different options for material and gave me advice as to which ones might work best for my project. Then she showed me how she would do something like this and help me understand what the process would be when I got home. My husband was actually the one who did the reupholstering but I check them on for moral support because if I had done it myself no one would ever be able to look at these chairs due to my sheer embarrassment. This store is ever so convenient to my home and work so I love to stop by frequently. There is a large variety of craft supplies for just about anything you enjoy doing. Personally, I like to stamp and scrapbook. The selection is pretty okay. Wish there was more for the Big Shot but the focus seems to be on Cricut these days. Also, those of us that craft are likely to return to the same stores frequently. I'd like to see the inventory changed out from time to time. I've already bought everything, what's next? I will have to agree with another reviewer about the check-out lines. The only time I got through quickly was when I was in there right at opening. This place is always ALWAYS ALWAYS busy. I never knew people rolled like this. I guess there's a whole other world of crafts I know nothing about. I came here a few times to look at fabrics for overlays for my wedding. I ended up buying ribbon here to go with a sash I ordered (just the bling part) for my wedding dress. Apparently at wedding stores they dont come all together..... I ordered an ivory dress and this is the only place I could find in town that offered a white that wasnt stark white and an ivory that wasnt dull and old and dingy looking. It was perfect. I also found double sided ribbon (that is shiny on both sides). They have wired ribbon, transparent (not sure why you would not want to see a ribbon you bought but hey if you need it, they got it!) They have wooden signs, necklace stuff, buttons, broaches, buckles and David Tutera line of stuff. They have a lot. I went to one in San Antonio at 1 in the afternoon ---- about 25 -30 folks in line ....on a Tuesday. These folks mean business and they've got business in spades. They have classes too. You name it, they have it. I cant wait to retire and get into this stuff! LOL read more

This is a great location with a huge selection of everything any crafter would need. There is fabric and sewing machines galore. They also have a discount aisle on the left side of the store. I picked up a nice photo box for $6.00 that was normally $17! I also found fabric to make new pillow covers out of! This is a busy location but, the cashiers were fast and friendly! JoAnn Fabric used to be a dumpy little store off 183 in a run down shopping center. If you could tolerate the mess, you might find a gem or two in the fabric section. Suddenly, the store closed and two large, new, JoAnn's opened in North Austin/Round Rock in expensive new shopping centers. I was excited to see all the changes and the nice clean, neatly organized stores. I wondered how they could afford to do this. A few years go by... I go by this JoAnn's location several times per day and it is the only art, craft and fabric store on my route. After today's visit I have just had enough and need to speak out. The stores are becoming large run down dumps again and this location is the worst of the two. The aisles are full of back stock carts it is difficult to move around and you can't even shop most end caps. The check out lines are always long and there are never enough cashiers. I have had many a conversation about this with other customers while waiting forever to check out. Today I had to visit the ladies room. It was filthy and one stall was taped shut leaving only one stall functional. After waiting in line for "my turn" I went to wash my hands and the sink was filthy with long hairs stuck all over it. I managed to wash my hands without touching anything and low and behold there was nothing to dry my hands on. I spent at least 15 min trying to use that nasty bathroom by then I knew there was no way I was going to be able to wait out the check out line so I left, purchasing nothing. Jo Ann, I honestly don't know how you stay in business, I would rather drive up one of the worst interstates in the country and shop at your competitor's stores in Georgetown. Spend some money on Labor people and get these stores back in shape the holidays are coming! SHEESH! read more

A new huge Joann's has just opened up in Round Rock! It's located right by IKEA off of I-35. It seems to have a very extensive selection of fabrics, art supplies, home dec and lots of classes. Some things I couldn't find at the Mopac location, I was able to find here. When I went, they gave me a flier that noted that their Grand Opening with 50% off coupons is March 19-22. read more

Poorly managed, employees are taken advantage of by the store manager. Starting pay occasionally goes up, but employees who are already working for the low pay are denied raises, regardless of seniority. Thanks to the god awful scheduling, there is only ever one employee at the register. This store likely suffers from the typical problem that many Chain stores do, in which the store manager is given bonuses based on how much money he or she saved the store. This has resulted in 24/7 skeleton crews. Due to this, employees come and go at a rate more rapid than fast food, so much of the time no one knows what they're doing. All of these problems stem from the store manager. His inability to treat his employees with respect and to come up with a realistic schedule has rendered this store a shell. If you can, go to a different Jo-ann's. read more

I hadn't been to Joann in quite a while but I needed some ribbon rosettes and couldn't find them at Hobby Lobby. Not only did I find them at Joann but in several colors and even a mixed package. Terrible customer service. I called to ask if they had a specific color of embroidery thread in stock. The person on the phone said "Yes, we have it." When I got to the store, the bin was empty. The person who came over to check said that no, it wasn't in stock, and that whomever answered the phone didn't check. No "I'm sorry", just a shoulder shrug. My fiance is here regularly which means so am I. I have yet to see this store dirty. It is always well cleaned even the bathrooms. This is a green location which is something else I appreciate quite a bit. I do get concerned with their sales. If you can afford to sell at 50% off then why aren't you just selling it for less all the time. All the help we've had has been helpful. Its nice. The only thing I noticed and this is expected is that the level and quality of stock isn't consistent as it could be. I think this maybe a function of the fabric/craft business but it's something that bugs me. Also as another reviewer noted be prepared to wait in line at least a little bit. For this type of store I couldn't ask for anything better. It's not the sort of super-personal service you'd get from a small locally owned place, but the staff is very helpful, friendly, and efficient, plus the prices are quite reasonable. They have a good selection of several types of fabric, as well as other crafting supplies, and every time I've asked about a specific item the employee has walked me over to where it is to make sure I can find it and that it is what I need. Best of all they really manage to hit the fine line between being helpful and available and giving you plenty of browsing space. Once or twice I've been in longer than ideal lines, the sort of thing that happens on an otherwise slow day when several customers suddenly check out at once. I know from personal experience that this is one of the most stressful situations for a cashier, but the people who've helped me always stayed cool and just dealt efficiently and pleasantly with the situation. read more

I have shopped here for many years and I am super disappointed now. I am a seamstress and needed another yard of fabric to finish a job I was working on. I placed an online order for pick up at 9:30am. Received a confirmation email and waited all day for my pick up email. Website says all orders placed before 5pm will be ready for pick up the same day. 8:30 pm I call the store and order still isn't ready. Lady on the phone tells me that's not how it works. That the order will be ready the next day. I state that the website says same day pick up and she's clueless. Just super disappointed that's I am now delayed in finishing my project.
