He helped us arrive at a suitable energy-efficient Simonton models to replace 5 of our windows at a reasonable price. He also measured all the windows to be replaced and promptly provided a written quote. Three of our replacements were for original 30+ year-old single-hung windows which were no longer functional because their balances had failed. The replacement Simonton windows have a better design that obviates the need for such balances, which was of added value to me! The total window order, measured and made to order, was received by JWG within 3 weeks and installed within 1 week. JWG Windows arrived just minutes before the scheduled time for installation. We were fortunate to have a second installation crew (Alex and Ricky) join the first crew (EJ and Cody) during the installation process, which allowed the entire job to be done within 2.5 hours. These two teams operated smoothly together in good spirits, were respectful of our property (using drop cloths in each work area) and cleaned up the work areas. After they were installed, EJ demonstrated the windows' operating features, provided me with the manufacturer's warranty and answered my questions. The work he did was awesome and I still recommend Aloha, but not returing messages from a potential repeat customer isn't sitting great with me. Original Review: If I could give 10 stars I would. Aloha is a small, family own business that goes out of their way for their customers. We had two insulated tempered glass sliding doors in dire need of TLC. One of them had a broken panel due to a gardening accident, and both had broken seals that led to discoloration of the glass. Neither door slid very well, requiring a nearly Superman level of effort to get the door open. Through yelp I requested five quotes, two from window/door companies, two from glass companies who claimed to do repair work, and a quote from Francisco at Aloha. All the vendors were very responsive, but there was a significant difference in approach, scope, and price. The door/window companies wanted to replace the entire door at a much higher price than replacing the glass. The two glass companies were within dollars of each other, but it was just glass replacement. What differentiated aloha was not only would they replace the glass, but they would also replace the door rollers with new high-quality wheels, and ensure that everything was in tiptop shape. They were even a few hundred dollars cheaper than the glass only companies. The replacement glass took about a week, and Francisco and his niece were out the next morning. They put in a long day of work and I absolutely could not be happier with the results. The door slide better than New, and the low energy glass should make a big difference this summer. They also cleaned up the tracks and made the screens work better than before, although they are a bit trashed. Right now I'm waiting for a quote on replacement screens made of high-quality aluminum, plus Francisco said if they come back out he could replace the screen material in a couple of windows that need it for a very inexpensive price. I recommend Francisco and his family at aloha without reservation. He is responsive, honest, friendly, skilled, knowledgeable, and very competitively priced. We had been quoted anywhere between $5,000-$15,000 to replace our sliding patio doors with French…read moredoors. Our garage is detached, so we could not lock our old patio doors, meaning if we wanted to use our garage, we either had to leave the house unlocked or walk around the block to our front door. We were told by all the other contractors that our doorway was a weird size, and that they were unable to install the doors without cutting into our drywall and stucco and removing our patio stairs. We were also told this would be a project that took multiple days. I posted our other quotes to Yelp to see if other contractors could beat it, and Sivan responded. Oded from Sivan came in and confirmed what I suspected: That what we were told by other contractors was wrong, and that they could easily replace our sliding patio doors with French doors with a lock, and that it could be done via retrofitting and would only take a matter of hours. Everyone at Sivan was easy to work with. My husband and I frequently have meetings during the day, so it's hard to have a call about house stuff. Everyone at Sivan was able to communicate via e-mail and text so we could handle things while in meetings, and they were super responsive even though we sometimes took months to respond because we had a baby since we originally reached out to them.
