He also measured all the windows to be replaced and promptly provided a written quote. Three of our replacements were for original 30+ year-old single-hung windows which were no longer functional because their balances had failed. The replacement Simonton windows have a better design that obviates the need for such balances, which was of added value to me! The total window order, measured and made to order, was received by JWG within 3 weeks and installed within 1 week. JWG Windows arrived just minutes before the scheduled time for installation. We were fortunate to have a second installation crew (Alex and Ricky) join the first crew (EJ and Cody) during the installation process, which allowed the entire job to be done within 2.5 hours. These two teams operated smoothly together in good spirits, were respectful of our property (using drop cloths in each work area) and cleaned up the work areas. After they were installed, EJ demonstrated the windows' operating features, provided me with the manufacturer's warranty and answered my questions. The light flickered nonstop and the unit refused to even attempt functioning. I ordered a brand new jack shaft/side opener off Amazon and was going to try installing myself. But then I discovered our garage door was super unbalanced (the spring had lost a lot of tension I guess). This would likely make the new opener unable to function, and garage door springs are not safe for a DIYer to mess with, so I was stuck and decided to call in the professionals. I reached out to a few businesses on Yelp, and... Pros: They responded quickly to my Yelp request with an actual estimate (only company who did) They stuck to their estimated schedule, arriving right in the middle of it Devin is an awesome guy and a super skilled installer who knows what he's doing and more importantly: cares about doing it well! He was really friendly, worked quickly (took about 90 mins altogether for everything), took care of all the little details, cleaned up the area when he was done, and walked me through all the operations of our new door opener at the end. We chatted a bit as he worked and had a pretty good time while still getting everything done blazingly fast. Easy Open accepted Zelle for payment which is super convenient for those of us who never have cash and don't know where their checkbook is! We had been quoted anywhere between $5,000-$15,000 to replace our sliding patio doors with French…read moredoors. Our garage is detached, so we could not lock our old patio doors, meaning if we wanted to use our garage, we either had to leave the house unlocked or walk around the block to our front door. We were told by all the other contractors that our doorway was a weird size, and that they were unable to install the doors without cutting into our drywall and stucco and removing our patio stairs. We were also told this would be a project that took multiple days. I posted our other quotes to Yelp to see if other contractors could beat it, and Sivan responded. Oded from Sivan came in and confirmed what I suspected: That what we were told by other contractors was wrong, and that they could easily replace our sliding patio doors with French doors with a lock, and that it could be done via retrofitting and would only take a matter of hours. Everyone at Sivan was easy to work with. My husband and I frequently have meetings during the day, so it's hard to have a call about house stuff. Everyone at Sivan was able to communicate via e-mail and text so we could handle things while in meetings, and they were super responsive even though we sometimes took months to respond because we had a baby since we originally reached out to them. We were able to get our doors done for $4,298.80, which was the best quote we had from any contractor and included labor, materials, and a warranty.
