We were set with an appointment at 12 after multiple text messages from Rick insisting to make an appointment with his company. Rick calls us and says "I'm here". We asked "Where are you?" He continued to say he was in Spring Valley. The address we gave him was in National City. He proceeded to ask for the address and we thought he wouldn't have a problem finding it in. He calls us again "I'm here by the office and the gate". Sir we don't have a gate. He didn't want to continue looking for our address so he said "I'm going to call it a day, just find someone else". BEWARE .... BEWARE .... BEWARE ........ It has taken me a long time to decide to write this review. I would appreciate this info if I were thinking about working with this company. I'll try and make this simple to follow. Patio installed. Immediately had leaks. Continued to have leaks. Had over 30 leaks, all documented with pictures and videos. Crawford came out several times, and all they did was caulk to stop leaks, which did not work. 9 months after install, many many pictures, videos, letters, texts, emails, phone calls later, Crawford would not take full responsibility for install so I filed a claim with State Contractors Board. This took months, but I finally had my day. State Contractors Board ruled in my favor and I received all my money back. (It was an expensive patio, with lights, fans, upgraded materials.) I spent hours, and hours with emails, texts, phone calls, letters, and taking pictures and videos. Spent hours trying to work with Rick, Owner of Crawford Construction. I spent hours putting in claim with the State and the Bond Company. So if you end up with a Contractor that does not do their job or stand by their work, you have to spend time and energy fighting for justice. I'm grateful the system worked for me, however it's not a simple task to see it through. read more

After several totally positive encounters with the owner, Mr. Rick Crawford, I feel obligated to come forward to recommend him highly to the YELP community. Rick has helped our family out both a major home improvement construction project (a new exterior deck) and most recently a VERY valuable repair consultation on a shifting porch roof support column for a 93 year old home. Rick was always responsive to our needs and rapidly went to sites to prepare very thorough and competative bids. As shown in attached photos, his rooftop deck of my mother's home was a valuable home improvement. This was done exactly to bidded cost, of high quality construction with NO "surprises" once he was on site with work underway. Best yet was his total diligence to obtain ALL permits required by our often anal city govt. to make it 100% legal and per code (WARNING....numerous contractors won't research / go to the hassles to get or leave to owners to runaround getting). His most recent consult literally saved us thousands of dollars when he advised us to simply patch some cracking around a porch column that had settled / rotated slightly during its 93 year existence. A competing contractor had advised an immediate $4000 TOTAL rebuilding of the column. However, Richard advised us to patch it for now and carefully monitor for any immediate re-cracking -- at which time we'll have to bite the bullet and do the total repairs down to the footings. So, in summary, when exploring the junge of So. California Contractor firms we strongly recomend giving this business and Richard a call. read more

I would recommend this company and would use them for future jobs. They did an awesome job of painting the parts that they could paint. They painted and repaired damaged areas on the fascia and shed. It looked like new. They replaced extention to the arched. Rick made sure to get all permits and worked with management to get approval. He kept us up to date on timing. read more

Ok if you are doing a simple pergola but beware if it involves connected the cover to your existing house. I could go on and on but will just attach photos as I had to have a roofer come fix their mess after they came out twice to try to fix it by piling on more caulking. Offered to let them come see their mistakes. Even arranged for roofer to come on a different day when they said they were available. Texted to say roofer would be 15 min late and went out to truck to say the same. One of the workers saw the truck arrive only ten min late and he pulled away probably after he saw the truck and realized it was a reputable company coming to fix it. I will attach multiple photos and won't get into the back and forth emails for six months with multiple excuses for delaying repair. Ended up having roofer redo the entire connection as it wasn t papered correctly where Crawford modified the roof. Cost over all an extra 800$. Initially 450 but when I went up there and the roof showed me what they did I told them to fix the rest of their mess. Again if it is a simple pergola they would probably be ok but don t do anything that involves connecting to existing roof. They will blame it on everyone but themselves. I know the roof was initially done correctly because it had been completely redone weeks before with photos. Anyway I am sure the owner will reply with a BS response . If he does I will be glad to share all his texts and emails with yelp as well read more

I had to find a reliable contractor to do some repair on my mom's mobile home. After a brief discussion with Rick from Crawford Contracting. I felt he was a good fit to handle the extensive list of issues that needed to be addressed because he was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what I was talking about. He had great suggestions to fix some of the issues and made me feel comfortable just from talking to him over the phone. When Rick came out and met with us, he was very friendly and on time which is very important to my mom. After going over all the details of the work needed, he gave us a great reasonable price so we went ahead and hired him to do all the work. When the workers showed up to begin the work they were on time, they were cautious while working in and out of the house and were sure to clean up after themselves. But most importantly they were very polite to my mom and answered all of her questions. When it was all done, we were very pleased on how everything turned out and my moms home looks great!! The job was done in 2 days including the removal of the old wood patio cover and including the electrical work for the 4 lights and 2 fans.The 2 employees that worked on my job were very professional and worked their best to make the job perfect.
