We hired this company applied coating to the exterior of our home. We were told that they will power wash the exterior and repair any damage prior to applying the coating. Things looked good for a couple of years and then we noticed that certain parts of the exterior had peeling paint. We have 25 year warranty so first contacted the company in 2019. We got the run around and nobody came. It is now 6 years later and they still have not honored the warranty. I called the company several times and I was referred to Eric. Eric has gone MIA and would not respond to my texts and call. He keeps on promising to send inspectors but no one has come by. We will be filing a small claims suit to make sure they are accountable to their warranty. read more

We had Precision install solar and an HVAC system in our house. The solar has been flawless. However, we started having issues with the HVAC randomly shutting off after a couple of years. After numerous calls and emails to Precision which went unanswered, we called another HVAC company (Anderson) out to fix the system. They told us the system was not installed to code, that it was leaking condensate water into our ceiling because the safety switch was not working and was a safety hazard due to there not being enough clearance from the roof. We had another HVAC company (ASI) come out and they confirmed what Anderson said. I sent a letter via Certified USPS with a Return Receipt requested to Precision letting them know of the issue, including detailing photographs, and asked them to repair the system. They signed for the letter but never responded. Finally, due to the safety hazard and the leaks into our ceiling, we had to pay to have the system replaced. read more

Not only did they have to come back repeatedly, now I have termites eating through the "termite-proof paint: and the cheap siding they used is now swollen and cracked with dry rot- improperly sealed and crap product. Originally hired to install windows. Great experience. We then looked at them to install new roof and solar panels. We started contracting at end on July 2025. Roof installed by September with solar panels. Been told several times that it will be on within a week only to fly by those estimated schedule. They have blamed SDGE, but when the inspector showed up in November, they did not follow the drawings on grounding, and the inspection failed. Been asking for a schedule since november and have not gotten a straight answer. Then in December, the contractor did not fasten down sky light and wind took it away for a ride, causing my outdoor area to get water damage. They installed a new skylight and fastened it down this time. We are now near end of February 2026 and still have no answer for when I will be able to use my solar panels. If I had known solar was a racket i would not have tried to get in before the change of law. Terrible experience and recommend others looking for roofing contractors to go elsewhere. read more

Worthless waste of time! Don't be fooled by the fancy website and claims of hundreds of 5-star reviews from satisfied customers. These guys are totally unprofessional and should be avoided at all costs. I am just happy that I figured out the kind of operation they are before potentially awarding them any work. My subsequent reading of their reviews on Yelp paints a further negative sentiment of this company. I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to have someone come out to a second home we have in Mission Bay, and quote on installing a panoramic/folding door which I was supplying. A couple of days prior to the appointment I received a call confirming the appointment and was told that an estimator would meet me at my home at 10am on the day of the appointment. On the day of the appointment, I had to make a special trip to the property and even went out of my way to arrange parking for the estimator (parking in Mission Bay is tough at the best of times and this was also during the week of 4th of July). At 10:15am I receive a text from Anthony informing me 'I had a note to give you a call regarding a panoramic door you were looking for information about. You can reach me at xxx-xxx-xxxx' When I told him that I had a confirmed appointment for someone to be at my property to quote on an installation of a door, I was told that they were 'backed up for the day' and did not have an estimator to come to my property!! He then proceeded to make up some fake story that I requested a call when someone was actually on their way to the property, which is absolute nonsense! Why would I confirm a very SPECIFIC appointment time a couple of days earlier but also request a call when someone was on the way? Not only did they waste half a day of my time making a special trip to the property to meet one of their estimators, but when they don't show up, and don't have any idea what the customer has requested the appointment for, they start making things up to weasel their way out if their commitments. I am happy I figured these guys out for what they are sooner rather than later. If you cannot show up for a confirmed appointment, that is a good indication of the quality of work a company will produce and the experience you will have as a customer. We had new double pane installed through this company. We found them at the Home Show at the convention center. We got a few bids and like this company best. They did the installation and the windows came from a good "Anlin" manufacturer. surprisingly it took only one day for a two story house with two sliding glass doors but they did it. We noticed the house is quieter inside the heat stays in longer and it stays cooler longer. I haven't had any call backs but I feel confident they be back to make things right. read more

They use high quality materials with great manufacturer warranties (one of the big reasons why we chose them over other companies.) Everything turned out great. Do you want to keep your house cooler? I did! I was looking for a general contractor that could do repairs and refinish the exterior of my home. I found Precision General Contracting at the San Diego Home Show. My house's exterior was in very bad condition with a ton of stucco/paint crumbling and gaping holes. The house was built in 1954 and I wanted to do a complete refinish of the exterior with stucco, fascia repairs and paint. Precision did it all. We encounter many unexpected areas that needed to be done during the process. I want to live in my house for at least the next 30 years and these repairs were necessary to keep my home in structural soundness. I chose the Coolwall Coating and have noticed a dramatic difference in the interior temperature of my home. It is at least 10 degrees cooler on hot days. As the repairs were being done, we discovered more damage and each time something was discovered the Project Foreman, Sean, would discuss it with me and go over the extra costs. I did pay almost double for my project however the areas that were repaired were areas that I definitely wanted fixed. For example, a large structural beam was discovered to be completely deteriorated from termite damage. The crew uncovered the damage when removing the old stucco and I was very relieved. If the repairs weren't made when they did my home's foundation and main structural integrity may have been compromised. If I had gone with just a stucco company those repairs may not have been easily completed and I would have had to hire a second company. Precision did it all. They did start two months behind schedule due to a backlog of supplies and having so many clients. It all worked out in the end and my home looks beautiful. I will definitely hire them again for any future repairs or an addition I'm planning! read more

Most of the crew have no idea what's going on so you will have to become the project manager. Not to mention they "say" a portable restroom will be placed on the property during the duration of the project. That wasn't the case, we had all the different crews urinating on the side of the house. The cement driveway they did already has cracks less than a year in. The only time you will see the project manager is when they show up to pick up checks. Also, beware of change orders...which is their way of slowly draining more funds out of your bank account. I cannot recommend Precision General. It seems my project was too small to warrant their attention. I made it clear that if the paver job was done well, I planned to hire them for a larger project involving new concrete, a pergola, walls, screens, lighting, and a fan in my backyard. The paver project involved removing existing concrete, moving or capping sprinklers, and installing a 6-foot strip of pavers across the front of the house, leading to the front door, and down to the sidewalk. Throughout the installation, there were multiple issues, and I quickly realized that the project manager, Eric, would only respond after a delay of at least two days. On the first day, I provided him with a map of the front yard detailing the sprinkler work. However, when the workers began on the sprinklers, problems arose immediately. After calling the project manager, there was no response. Due to his lack of communication, I had to use telephone translators to instruct the workers myself. This "overcome by events" approach was typical throughout the project and occurred with each issue (sprinklers, paver placement, an electrical box, missing pavers, and debris left in the yard). At the end of the 7th day, the crew left behind an 80-cubic-foot pile of dirt, broken concrete, paver shards, four wooden pallets, two exposed and unburied sprinkler heads, and a 3-inch high, 20-foot-long trip hazard where they failed to properly taper the ground around the pavers. When they left, there was no final review or inspection. Two days after the crew left, I began receiving calls from the finance company asking if the job was complete so they could pay Precision General and start billing me. On that day I sent Precision General photos of the problems and a request to clean up and finish the job. I also asked for advice on maintaining the pavers, such as cleaning or sealing, but received no response. Weeks later, I emailed the Marketing Manager (who originally signed the contract with me) and informed him of some of the problems, but again there was no reply. Apparently, my email was eventually forwarded to Precision General's Contracts department, where Samantha acknowledged their poor communication and "jumping the gun on finishing the job" but then lectured me on how to contact the appropriate person and defended their non-responsive behavior. After multiple methods of contacting Precision General, they finally sent a crew 28 days later to finish the job. However, when they arrived, the crew spent about 90 minutes wandering around my front yard without doing anything. When I asked what they were doing, (again using phone translators), they said they were told to come but had not been given any instructions. Once again, I had to direct the crew on what needed to be done. To this day, Precision General has yet to answer my questions about the maintenance and cleaning of the pavers. read more

If you want a lien and a lawsuit like me, hire them but read the 1 star and 2 star reviews in the past year and Pam W from 2 years ago when the owner "Adrian" called her after reading her review to successfully resolve her long list of complaints. My long list of concerns was met within 6 weeks with a lawsuit and lien. PGC violated their contract by foregoing "Face to Face" meetings, mediation, and/or arbitration. The Owner sued me and is foreclosing on my home for an erroneous amount. My story; First progress invoice for completed work was $20,000. As a retired Accounts Payable Manager I asked for a list of what was completed. Samantha Curry said that was "redundant and unnecessary". My forensics analysis of the invoice uncovered charges for work not done. I have asked Samantha and The Ward Firm (their lawyers who filed a lawsuit 7/30 but have not served me) several times in emails where is the "wall footing" that you are charging to demolish? No answer. I notified both entities of gross overcharging on the drain system as Samantha Curry stated they "do not provide schematics on the drainage". She continued and said the project manager and foreman would walk with me "to decide" where the drains go. The project manager and foreman did not come to the property but the crew did and installed the contracted 80 linear feet and added 100 linear feet then issued a change order for $12,600 (the change order included other not approved items). They installed 6 drain caps in a 425 sf area including one in the ring where a retaining wall with cinder blocks will completely cover it. See pictures. The replacement contractor removed PGC's work as unusable. The $9,000 for drainage is included in the lien amount. They are foreclosing on my home in less than 90 days for an erroneous amount I have brought to Samantha Curry's attention and their lawyer The Ward Firm who has stopped responding to my documented claims of erroneous charges and over-billing (eg $100 per piece of 4x6 plywood). I have an active claim of Poor Workmanship being investigated by the Contractors State Licensing Board to whom the replacement contractor is providing an affidavit of Precision General Contracting (San Diego) inferior and unusable work.The board contacted Samantha Curry to confirm the amount to remove the lien in July 2024. Samantha quoted the original amount after I sent pages, pictures, screenshots, and proof of gross negligence to her and their lawyers in their billing process. read more

I rarely write reviews, but our experience with Precision General Contracting was so exceptional I had to share. First, the estimating & design process with Anthony was thorough. Anthony was very responsive on design/size changes, and cost estimates were broken down in a very easy and understandable way. Once we decided to go with Precision for our new Trex deck, the timeline put in place hit the mark (they were backed up because we wanted the deck to be built in the fall, which is a very busy time for them, but the approximate date initially set worked out perfectly). The deck builders/carpenters were a treat to watch. You could tell they took pride in their work, they were the ultimate craftsmen. When they lost a couple of days because of heavy rain, they actually came back out on a Sunday and completed the entire framing of the deck. They always cleaned up the site before they left. Those guys were just A+ gentlemen. Manny's supervision of the job site was outstanding, and Samantha from their main office was always in communication with us during the entire construction phase. We couldn't be happier with the finished product, and we would certainly recommend Precision to anyone! They are the real deal. read more

hopefully my last update to this review. We had an electrical short, on the roof, in the solar system. The monitoring box that was installed didn't notify us anything was wrong. So we went almost 2 months not knowing our system was broken. Only way I found out was the SDGE bills that get sent once a month. I called the Precision General Contracting office and they never returned my call. I called another solar install company. The other company came out the next day found the short and fixed it. He said I was lucky the 'little fire" didn't get bigger! The monitoring box no longer works. I called the manufacturer and they said they no longer make that box. If I wanted a new box it would have costed about 750 bucks. The company said most people go to eBay and buy a used one. Just one thing after another....... read more

I've waited on this review for a while. Basically everyone who did labor at our property was great - especially Jeff & co, we could not have been happier with that team. So two stars for them. We had new construction windows installed, stucco repaired *because of the nature of new construction window install*, and Texcote done. My problem comes with the fact that a week before our project was supposed to be done, we got an addendum in the amount of $9,890.95 for additional stucco repair, and the listed work had long been completed. We had no heads up that they were essentially over budget and we were on the hook for it based on the way they have their contracts set up. "*****The Contractor's failure to comply with the requirements of this section does not preclude the recovery of compensation for work performed based upon legal or equitable remedies designed to prevent unjust enrichment.*****" So essentially they set themselves up for "if you ask us to do it - it has to be in writing and signed, but if we go ahead and do something, you owe us". $10K is no small amount of money for us and we ended up feeling pretty disrespected and like our project wasn't managed well if that much was missing from our initial quote. This is not trustworthy business practices and I should have stuck with the contractor with whom I'm familiar and has never before done something like that to me. We will not have them back. I'm not one to write negative reviews but I feel the need to warn others before hiring this company: We hired Precision to install a new roof and for some exterior remodeling. They made a complete mess in our attic when removing the old roof. Our attic stored boxes containing baby and kid items and we had told them about this before starting removal. They assured us it would not be messy (they would put the necessary covers down first) and we did not need to remove anything. This was not at all the case. Getting them to come back and clean up took forever and they only did a mediocre job with a ton of old roof debris still there now. They outsourced the exterior remodel to another company without telling us, and that contractor has since told me that he'll never work with Precision again because they did not pay him in full. Precision's lack of communication and professionalism was completely aggravating and I would never recommend this company. Since then, I've tried to contact precision several times for a copy of our roof warranty to show our homeowners insurance and I've not received a call back. Unacceptable. read more

We had Precision do several projects for us. Solar, Texcote, Patio replacement and gutters. Make sure you review the details of the salesperson writes down. One issue is with measurements. To save on material costs the salesperson reduced the measurements of the patio replacement. He also stated that some project details would be accomplished but ended up as additional costs. Also, the salesperson makes you think Precision will be monitoring your solar system and will provide warranty service to the solar panels. In actuality it is up to you, they said they would assist in getting Enphase or the Solar Panel manufacturers to resolve any issues. The overall project manager is not really interested in taking care of you and I only saw him a few times as they leave all the work to the supervisors. Each project had a different supervisor. Solar and Painting were provided by Precision and the Patio and Gutters had nobody from Precision on site. Communication from all levels of Precision from the owner to the job supervisor is practically nonexistent. I cannot count the number of phone calls; text messages and emails were never returned. Got the impression that I was not important. Solar installation: We love the Solar System the Enphase micro inverters, and the consumption monitors really are outstanding. The Installers were excellent and were subcontractors. The person in charge of the Solar and electrical often was not reachable. On installation I took a day off work. Supervisor showed up and said the crew was finishing up on another project and would be at my house later that day. The crew never showed up and all calls to the supervisor were never returned. Everyone in the corporate offices were off and the Project Manager finally answered after several attempts to reach him. I was assured a new installation date would be a priority and they would get back to me. It took several days and many phone calls and emails to get a new installation date. They had no problem inconveniencing me. Mind you they knew I took a day off work. Very unprofessional!! Painting: The job supervisor spent most of his time in his truck not supervising his crew. After priming the house, they used an outside faucet and splashed dirt onto part of the house. When they painted, they painted over the dirt. They also left many paint drips and dull spots all over the front and sides of the house. They took shortcuts on painting the trim and eves at the direction of the supervisor. The painters were more professional than their boss. When our screen door was damaged by a paint can being dropped (which we observed). The supervisor argued and said they did not do it. Communication with the supervisor stopped after I said there were issues. I had to call the owner and my Project Manager had to come out to show all the painting issues and schedule a day for the painters to return. Patio Cover: Now for a success. Precision agreed that the measurements were inaccurate and agreed to replace my entire patio cover. The 2 installers from Aqua Tech were fantastic and very professional. They installed everything expertly and we love the patio cover. There was no involvement from Precision during this part of the project. Gutters: Precision forgot about this part of the project. The Patio installers company also install gutters. I called Precision and the Patio Installers called their company and they installed the gutters. The next day the gutter installers were on site. My wife loves the gutters. Another success by the installers and another disappointment from Precision. Final walk through by the Project Manager. He did not even look at the finished project all he was there for was to receive the final payment. Unfortunately, I was ok with this, and I just wanted them off my property. I will never utilize Precision again for any project nor would I recommend them to my friends. I highly recommend the patio and gutter installers. Buyer beware. read more

Bottom line is that after eight weeks, numerous re-do's and allot of needless irritation; we now have a nice deck built by Precision General Contracting (PGC). We are convinced, however, the if we hadn't taken the time to check nearly everything Manny, the onsite supervisor, and his crew did the outcome would have been much different. At first, we seemed to have a good working relationship with Manny. He always seemed too listened to our concerns and then promised to address them. After many such discussions we noticed that Manny seemed to do what he had to do to out of his face but he didn't take our concerns seriously. After our a few rounds with Manny we called the project manager Pierce but he referred us back to Manny. We aren't really sure what Pierce's job was but to take payment. He was absolutely not help to us. Finally we contacted Pierce's boss at (PGC) Samantha, and to her credit she followed up with both Manny and Pierce and got things done to our satisfaction. Would we use PGC again? Frankly, no, It was just exhausting. The deck eventually turned to be ok, but it shouldn't have been that difficult. It was just a deck after all. I can't imagine what it would have been like if we had them do a bigger job for us like a kitchen or bathroom. It boggles the mind. read more
