What a great experience I had a Morena Welding. I have a special BMW motorcycle that needed a metal foot tab re-welded to the center stand in order for the bike to be functional and safe. I called Mario at Morena Welding and he was so helpful on the phone and told me to stop by that day. I came by after lunch and met Mario and he inspected the area to be welded and had Sal do the actual welding. It was great watching Sal prep the work and also check that his weld would work properly with the center stand raised and lowered. Great attention to detail. I had an old antique lamp to be repaired. It took only a day and less than 1 hour labor. Great craftsmanship and customer service!

They came and did the work. However they installed a slow close hydraulic hinge and it was still closing loudly. I come out side to tell them it was still closing loudly. When a man Eleazar was extremely rude. Telling me that the HOA asked for him to do it this way. There is no HOA, we hired him. We are the owners of the property. We live in a 4 unit condominium and we are all owners. He was extremely rude saying he was not going to fix it. Then my husband came out and talked to him and immediately his attitude changed. Thank goodness my husband is working from home. These guys just seemed like demining guys to women. My husband told him exactly what I told him and he immediately did it. Don't hire them. My sofa frame arrived broken from the shipper. I wanted to have it fixed instead of waiting months fir a replacement. I'm amazed at how well they could put the pieces together... spray paint is coming from the company to finish the job later this week. Juan did a great job. I'm honestly not sure if their pricing is competitive because I didn't get any other estimates, but happy I have my sofa frame fixed now... they completed the work in about 2 days not counting the weekend which was very quick. Top Notch Service and work. I had a wooden balcony railing that needed replacement. Sent an email request for quote that was responded to in the same day. Tony scheduled an appointment to come out and measure and discuss. He helped with ideas on how match the railing to railing inside the house. It came out nearly perfect for a 1 piece, 18 foot long, 48" deep and 50" inch high piece of welded railing! Installation was perfect and no bolts, or sections to match together. I wish I would have used them for the inside railing! They came out immediately to do touch up on the one small scratch. Price was more than fair for design, installation and quality. Excellent! These guys designed, created, and installed a beautiful stainless steel bayside fence for our house. It has stainless swaged wires instead of tubing so the view is not blocked by metal bars. All phases of the work were done properly, and all their people were professional and polite. We are thrilled with the result. See photos. The stainless steel welding (an art!) is excellent, and the posts are security imbedded into the concrete seawall. It ain't goin' nowhere! The surface of the railing gleams in the San Diego sun, but doesn't block the view of the bay. Highly recommended. read more

My elderly grandfather had a stroke so we got him a hospital bed for his room. Then he FELL out of the bed, claiming it was too high for his short little legs. Off we go to Morena Welding (who incidentally, closes at FOUR pm, TAKE NOTE PEOPLE!!!!) These wonderful folks, upon hearing our story, stayed open an extra HOUR just so we could run over there during rush hour and cut off those four legs so papa could go to bed tonight. The job took less than 1o minutes. Juan did a professional, speedy and great job for less than it would have cost me to buy a hacksaw and spend four hours cutting the thing myself. He EVEN put the little footsies back on so it wouldn't scratch our floors! I cannot say enough nice thing about this family run, friendly business. He asked me to send an email describing the job, along with a sketch so I did that. I didn't hear back for a week, so I called again. They made suggestions which were super helpful for improvements on the safety of my stairs. I have a small residential welding project that needs to be done, and I saw a few reviews for this company that looked promising, so I gave them a call. The first time I called, I was asked to send an email describing the job, along with a few photos, so I did that. I didn't hear back for a week, so I called again. They apologized, and said someone would follow up to make arrangements to check out the job. Received a call the next day, from another person at Morena Welding, saying essentially that someone will be contacting me to follow up, but that was the last I heard from them. I am not giving a poor review of their welding skills, because I have no idea how that is. They could be fabulous welders. I just don't know. Unfortunately I won't find out. I have to move on to find someone who would be interested in taking on a small residential job. They worked within my budget, the work was completed very quickly and the welds are way stronger than it was originally. Their work may be good, but they don't follow instructions!! I brought in two chairs to have legs straightened and reinforced. We carefully marked with tape the designated legs to be repaired. I also specifically asked if the individual I spoke with would be the one to do the actual work, rather than handing it off to someone else. He said no one else would work on them, but that didn't happen. He did give the job to another person, who took it upon himself to straighten ALL the legs rather than just the designated ones! The rear leg on each chair came from the factory intentionally angled to add to the chairs' stability. After being "helpfully straightened" with no authorization, I now have some doubts about their safety. They did offer to bend them back to the way they were, but that would have simply added metal fatigue. I declined. read more

I am a retired San Diego Police Officer. After decades of dealing with some of the worst that society has to offer, I've developed an uncomfortably slanted view of much of San Diego's service industry. I generally go in expecting polished and honed double talk designed to separate me from my money and invariably, that's exactly what I've often found. The day I walked into Morena Welding was no different, the outcome, however, was anything but what I expected. Consider this. A customer walks into a business that makes it's money welding and tells the person who greets him that he just bought a welder, has no welding experience what so ever but plans to build his own gate and would like the welding company to tell him how to do it...essentially for free. That's exactly what I did. The employee graciously brought me in to talk to the most experienced welder in the shop...the owner, Emro. Emro sat me at his desk and for 30 minutes, with customers and employees waiting in the hall to speak to him, he walked me step by step through my entire project. He showed me the kind of hinges I should have, told me what voltage I should be using to weld the 6 inch post, told me how deep in the ground to put the gate post, then provided the name/model number of the proper size/quality automatic gate opener he felt I should have. Emro told me how much the automatic gate opener was going to cost yet he was totally candid about how much he tacks on for his profit. He explained how much money I could save by ordering the opener myself and he gave me all assurances that even though he'd be making less money overall, he would be happy to install it all for me. He said when I'm done with the frame and all the welding, come back in and we'll discuss the next step. I returned today ready to order the opener and have Morena Welding do the install. When Emro saw all the work I did, he suggested I finish the project myself and save the install money. He again took the time to explain the install process including the type of wiring and placement of the opener. I said to him, You've been so helpful...I really don't feel comfortable continually picking your brain when I should be paying you for doing the work". He simply said, "You've done so much beautiful work already. I'm very impressed with your work and I'm confident you will have no problem finishing the job...I am happy to be able to help you with this. If you have questions come back and we'll talk more about it" Who runs a business this way? Seriously...who does that? I live in a historic community of San Diego with countless "Century" homes. We have monthly community meetings. I will be proud to recommend Morena Welding for all their welding needs from here on in. I ordered 3 covers for storm drains in the apartment complex I manage. The sketch and quote I got were perfect and I was able to pick up my drain covers nice and easy. The new covers look so much better and are nice and think. I am certain they will be durable and last for years and years.
