We needed a big palm tree trimmed, I called J&J and the owner, Jose, answered my call and set up an estimate for the next day. Jose, came out and gave me an estimate which was fair and scheduled the job for a few days later. We decided to have 2 pine trees shaped as well and he fit that into the schedule. The crew showed up on time, Jose supervised and they did a beautiful job. Clean up was great, and they were fast but didn't just hack the trees. I was shocked at the difference in the pine trees - it was a work of art. I have used another company for years but not too happy with the last few jobs. I will definitely use J&J from now on. Highly recommend J&J read more

We decided on Jose's company for the implementation of a design by Topia Landscape Architects for the replacement of our front yard lawn to a drought tolerant landscape. While I did not get competitive bids, I felt that his price was fair for what we asked him to do and the execution was flawless. Jose is great to work with, and keep us informed at each step of the process. We were told exactly what to expect and he checked frequently to be sure we were satisfied. His men showed up as expected and the whole project took only three full days to complete, from turf removal to fully finished project. Jose made several good suggestions that improved the overall project, such as moving the valves out of sight but still convenient to reach. This attention to detail was typical of the way he managed our project. The whole process consisted of turf removal and haul away, reworking our irrigation system to a drip system, replacing major valves and shut-off valves, grading, planting, mulching and placement of a pebble surface in two areas. I recommend Jose without reservation and will be using him for some extra drainage work and other projects around our house. read more

Jose and his team have been taking care of our yard for over 5 years and it is one of the best looking yards in the neighborhood. This includes trimming and lacing a very large stone pine tree, which has become a neighborhood favorite! His men are friendly, neat and even make sure our little dog and cockatoo are happy and safe. His pricing is more than fair and his vision for new projects is always spot on. read more

I hired them to remove 5 palm trees. They were not my lowest bid but I felt that the quality of the work would be better. I was not disappointed. Jose and his team arrived on time, worked carefully so as not to damage nearby water and electrical lines and cleaned up everything. I am now looking into having them work on landscaping for me and will definitely use them for future work trimming trees etc. I would strongly recommend this company!!! read more

Absolutely pleased with their work. Jose and his crew did a great job taking out a jacaranda tree, and cleaning and skinning my 70' fan palm. His communication on what he was going to do was very clear. They were here exactly when they said they would be and did an awesome job on cleanup! The cost was very reasonable...I will be contacting him to discuss landscaping as soon as I'm ready for that. Thank you Jose and crew! read more

Can handle multiple landscape services. Flexible and on time, both arrival and duration of the work they are doing Fair pricing. Jose and his team do what they say they will do, on time, and at a reasonable price. They helped me by removing two palm trees and stumps, cleaning up two others, and removing some additional rosemary. Jose is a licensed contractor and will provide you a written quote. I highly recommend them. read more

I highly recommend Jose and his team! The 3-person crew arrived on time today to trim 5 queen palms in our backyard near a swimming pool. Jose explained that they would use handsaws because power saws would cause debris to fall into the pool - something no one else had ever suggested. The trimming looks great, and they meticulously cleaned the trimming area as well as the path they took to haul the fronds away. We chose J & J Tree Service because Jose responded promptly to my request for a bid, stopped by within 24 hours to see the job, gave us a fair quote, and completed the job all within 3 days. We will be using Jose again soon to lace a pine tree. Professional, prompt, excellent service makes J & J stand out! read more

Thanks J & J Tree Service! Jose from J & J did a great job on removing the big dying Pine Tree in my back yard. He was very professional, his bid was fair and I was especially glad when he showed me his company is licensed and insured, I have used other tree services before and at times; I admit to using someone who wasn't. This time because of such a large job and potentially dangerous I knew I had to use someone with all the right skills and papers. I just recommend them to my next door neighbor and will use them next time I have some work to be done. Thanks again for the fine work. read more

After reading all the fantastic reviews, my husband and I called Jose to come give us a quote on a lot of work that needed to be done. Jose did come as scheduled and spent time discussing our needs. He stated he would contact us with a quote and we never heard back. I texted him several times asking for follow up with no response. Unprofessional. read more

We had a caterpillar infestation in our liquid amber tree. We had Jose come take a look to let us know what could be done. He knew just what they were and what to do about it. He and his crew were prompt and reliable and did an excellent job pruning and treating our tree as swell as cleaning up a giant bird of paradise and removing another. Excellent service! I will use them again! read more

Great service and communication. Cleaned up everything - the trimmed trees was the only evidence they were here. Thanks!

The owner visited our property quickly and gave a quote. Very reasonable price. The workers were very neat and efficient. I had two large palms trimmed and some dead branches removed from a small tree. I was very pleased with the work and punctuality of the crew. I was even called after the work was completed to check that everything had gone well. Excellent work ethic!!!! Diane Greene ENC read more

Jose and his crew did an great job cutting down 2 mature pine trees in our back yard. I called on Wednesday morning, Jose came to the house on Wednesday afternoon and looked the job over. Jose was fast to respond to my request (in fact I had to ask him to wait until the following week to meet because of my schedule!). He came out, we walked through the yard and went over what I was looking for- he gave me the quote and we booked it for a few days later. The morning of he was there early to set up and the crew was efficient, thorough, and professional throughout. We had 2 palms trimmed, 2 other trees trimmed (they hadn't been trimmed in quite some time- definitely awhile before we bought the house), and a bougainvillea that was out of control and taking over everything in its sight. We couldn't be happier with the results! We will definitely look to Jose again in the future on some other projects we'd like to tackle. read more

Juan and his team at J&J Tree service were excellent. Juan was very responsive. He confirmed his licensing and bonding to us. He provided a quote and was available to complete the job in a reasonable time frame. We felt his fee was fair compared to prior jobs we have had completed. The work to remove very large hedges and trim 3 trees was completed in a day. They cleaned up and took care of our property while working. We will use them again! read more

From start to finish I found J&J Tree Service an excellent choice. Jose was quick to provide a free estimate which was very competitive, prompt in scheduling and right on time for the job. Trimmed a huge overgrown pepper tree on my backyard hill that was spreading over the fence into my neighbor's yard. Gave me a quote within a few days of my call, the quote was reasonable, arrived on time only a few days later with enough workers and the necessary equipment to complete the job in a few hours, trimmed and thinned out the tree to only about 10 feet and half as many large branches exactly as we had discussed during the initial inspection, avoided any damage to the fence, sprinklers, and plants, prevented any limbs from falling in my neighbor's yard, and did a great job of cleaning up my yard when done. read more

Jose and his crew came this morning and took out a row of old pepper and bottlebrush trees from our front yard. They were fast, and cleaned up the entire mess from grinding out the stumps. Will be using JJ again for our yard renewal. Great guys and great work!!! read more

Update: Jose and team did a great job again. Punctual, friendly, professional, highly-skilled and a good value. This time his climbers did a wonderful job on trimming a huge eucalyptus tree and leaving it beautiful and clean. They also trimmed and laced a flame tree which also looks beautiful. They always clean up nicely, too. Excellent job again! read more

We noticed one of the cacti in our backyard was attracting rodents and needed to take care of it ASAP. Called J&J and they came out the same day to quote me. Everywhere else I called, they couldn't come out till the end of the week just for a quote. I asked them how quick the could come to remove it and to my surprise, they were able to come the next day! Within a couple hours they removed everything and we couldn't be any happier with the work they did. I will definitely be using them in the future for all other landscaping projects. read more

Jose and his men are very professional, always tidy up after themselves and are very conscientious. Jose has a great vision for new projects and when we asked him about a couple of retaining walls he created a gorgeous area full of trees and flowering plants at our entryway that makes the entry spectacular!! They keep our palms and ficus trees trimmed and sculpted so that we are always happy to look at them. Our property has never looked so lovely. Our landscaping had become overgrown and was in need of lots of pruning and clean up (we had/have a variety of palm trees, giant birds of paradise, and various trees and shrubs that had taken over, and our grassy areas were a mess). We had considered removing everything and starting over, but were just overwhelmed with options and obstacles. Jose met with us and convinced us that we could keep much of our landscaping in place once it was properly pruned/trimmed and maintained. We put our trust in him and his crew to choose what should stay and what should go, and we were not disappointed. He and his crew were knowledgeable, friendly, fast, used proper safety techniques, and left our landscaping looking the best it has been in years! And his pricing was very fair, especially considering all that had to be removed. We now use his team for landscape maintenance and we could not be more pleased with the results. read more

Jose provides an excellent service. here are some reasons to use his service. One, on time for meeting to give me a quote. Fair pricing for the amount of work requested. The day service was to be performed my wife and I completely changed trimming trees to removing trees. He came out at specified time redid the original estimate, started work and completed in a timely manner. I have used Jose for the last three years and could not be more pleased with the service. read more

We had a giant bird of paradise that was pushing over the fence and pushed up the asphalt in the neighbor's driveway. It needed to come out as soon as possible. Jose returned my call in an hour, stopped by that afternoon to give us a quote. He came by two day later to remove the huge plant from our yard and the neighbors driveway. Jose and the crew were fast, courteous and cleaned up after the job. It was a great experience. read more

My husband and I called Jose to come and give us an estimate on removing some trees whose roots were causing damage to our patio. After meeting Jose, there was no need to call for any other estimates. He was the nicest person and knew exactly what was needed to fix the problem and gave us a very reasonable estimate. Jose and his crew came today, right on time, and did an excellent job. The patio didn't get damaged in the least, and they were able to save a large jade plant that was in the middle of all the roots. All the guys working on the job were efficient, nice, and knowledgable. They finished the job and cleaned up everything! You couldn't ask for a better person to be in charge of a tree removal job. He takes great pride in his work and wants his customers to be happy. We are having him come back to plant a hedge were the trees were removed and also to have him build a small retaining wall to help prevent erosion on our back slope. I recommend him wholeheartedly! read more

I totally recommend this company for all of your landscaping needs. After meeting with me to discuss how I wanted the trees trimmed, they were able to give me a quote on the spot and came out the very next day. They had all the work completed in one day and stuck to their original estimate. The owner even walked me around the property before he left with his crew to make sure I was completely satisfied with their work, which I was. They left our trees looking natural (not too bare) but neat and clean, much nicer than they did before. They also cleaned up after themselves really well. The cost for 11 queen palms, 2 black eucalyptus, and 1 California pepper was $1300. Prices were fair. After seeing what a nice job they did, we are now going to hire them to do our regular lawn maintenance too. I know they also do irrigation work and hardscaping too. They are pretty much a one stop shop for all of your landscaping needs and their prices are very competitive and reasonable. read more
