I am the second person warning to be careful with this guy. Paying him $350 a month and he was not even showing up to mow the grass per two communications from our rental tenant. Also, I had to pay my handyman to haul landscaping debris that he had cleared, but then not removed from the property (paid additional monies to him for this work). I expect he is going to have a apologetic response, say there was a misunderstanding, or some other rationalization. Don't believe it. Highly recommend Carter for his professionalism, communication, and responsiveness. He called me on a Saturday night in response to an emergency sprinkler leak. I had turned off the main water line to our house and my family wasn't going to have running water all weekend but Carter called and taught me how to shut off the sprinkler valve instead. We had several previous landscapers that did not return calls or follow up on maintenance asks. Carter always returned my calls, texts and emails in a timely fashion. This is very important to us since our San Diego home is our second home (our primary residence is in the San Francisco Bay Area). We had Carter and his team mulch and reseed all of our lawn, and the work was done very well and was completed when he said it would be done. Carter was excellent! I contacted 5-6 vendors through Yelp for an estimate for irrigation and garden work, and Carter called me first, and within only a couple minutes of my request for estimates. Although he was traveling the next day, he was in the area and found time to come by and look at our yard. In a 20 minute visit, he gave me some ideas for the landscape, tips for care, and helped me with my irrigation system to make it more efficient and cost-effective. He suggested I use less expensive gardeners for certain tasks, which I appreciate - he didn't try to up-sell. He was honest, to the point, and very helpful. We've been battling with weeds for some time (a few years) on our "low maintenance" open spaces (mostly trees and mulch). Last week Carter came out and gave us some good options - the one agreed to was carpeting the mulched area with 3 inches of natural mulch to wipe out the incredibly stubborn weeds. Soon after, he and his team had a huge pile of much delivered and blanketed over the area. They tidied up everything and when we arrived home, everything looked perfect. They did an awesome job!
