R5. Combo Fried Rice. No Peas. No Carrots.
    Christabelle C.

Ordered takeout. Food was ready at the time for pick up. Inside was decent and clean. We got... 1. Combo Fried Rice (No Peas. No Carrots.): 5/10 it was ok. There's an aftertaste I can't describe. 2. Shrimp Lo Mein (No Cabbage. No Carrots.): 5.5/10 - shrimp used were small. Noodle texture was more on the softer side. I don't like soft noodles as they tend to be more soggy when you bite into it. Some other meats got lost in this dish-- probably happens when you reuse the wok and don't get all the meat out from previous dish cooked. Also-- there's also an aftertaste I can't describe. 3. Mongolian Beef: 5/10 meat was too velveted, a little mushy, flavors were ok (not really traditional that I'm used to in authentic Chinese food places), spice level wasn't what I expected from this particular dish AND NOT ENOUGH BEEF for $19.95. Price-wise-- I don't think it was worth it. If you wanted extra beef, they charge an additional $10. It was literally like 10 pcs of beef (sizes ranged from regular to tiny bits) and mostly onions and green onions. So thinking the way I think, I paid $2/ pcs of beef. I was pretty disappointed when I opened the container TBH. To charge that price-- at least give 20 pcs of meat-- making it approximately $1/pc of beef. Yeah... I had BEEF with this BEEF dish. I'd still give it another try in the future. It wasn't the worst, it wasn't the best-- but it was average for us. Try it for yourselves, you might like/love it.

They are open for dining in and we enjoyed a couple lunch specials. My wife had the happy family with beef, chicken and shrimp, it was loaded with veggies. I went with the General Tso's chicken and it was spicy so sharing wasn't an option since my wife doesn't like much spice, I loved it. We both enjoyed our choice of wonton soup, and an egg roll. We've ordered delivery from here and really loved it so it was a no brainer to visit, glad we did, we have a new favorite in the immediate area.

Ordered the general tso and fried rice. Food was good but pricey. Service was quick as there were not any other customers at my time of visit. Located in Meyerland, near major highway, so that's a plus!

The crab rangoon burrito didn't really taste like crab rangoon. It was extremely creamy and heavily filled with cream cheese almost to the point of being overwhelming. After a few bites, it started to feel a bit sickening, and I don't think I could finish more than one slice. It was missing that traditional savory, umami flavor, and instead tasted only like cream cheese. The outer layer also didn't hold up well. It wasn't strong or crispy enough to support the filling, so everything felt soft and fell apart. It honestly made it difficult to eat without a spoon (which they did include). It was also overpriced at $16. The service was good and the ambiance was pretty standard.

On my most recent visit we ordered mapo tofu with pork intestines off the specials menu - a hybrid of two of my favorite Sichuan-style dishes. The blend of bouncy, savory morsels amidst tender, saucy tofu was at once revolutionary and so obvious; why hadn't I yet seen this at any other restaurant? And sure, innards may not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's important for you to know that none of my past orders from the 50+ item menu have ever failed me, whether enjoyed in the restaurant or at home. Maybe you'd prefer the aromatic, classic, perfectly balanced three-cup chicken? Or the sweet-skinned duck, glazed so delicately that specks of sugar crystal threaten to jump off onto the plate as you pick up a juicy slice with your chopsticks? And if you're vegetarian, might you consider the punchy garlic eggplant or the wok-kissed string beans? I could go on. Do yourself a favor and come see for yourself, though I'd recommend parallel parking on the neighborhood streets behind the restaurant rather than the rocky parking lot, to save you some trouble. Bring friends and chow down family style - you'll need help covering as much of the menu as you can, but you'll definitely have to come back to try everything.

From the specials menu, we started with the spicy garlic coconut milk mussels made with fresh Prince Edward Island/British Columbia mussels in a rich spicy garlic coconut cream sauce, topped with green onions and served with toasted ciabatta bread. The broth was incredible and packed with flavor. As an appetizer, we ordered the Texas Wagyu Hot Stone Bowl -- the only rice item on the menu at the time -- made with rice, egg, kimchi sauce, tawan mushrooms, sesame, and green onion. It was prepared tableside for us, which made the experience even more fun and interactive. We also tried the Spicy Soy Ramen with braised ground pork, chili oil, soy milk broth, soft boiled egg, wakame, green onion, and micro cilantro. The flavors were rich, comforting, and had the perfect amount of spice. The Nagasaki Champon Ramen was another standout with clams, shrimp, cabbage, pork, onion, ginger, and micro cilantro in a flavorful broth that tasted fresh and authentic. The restrooms were very Japanese-inspired and beautifully maintained, adding to the atmosphere of the restaurant. Gabby was an amazing waitress -- attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and made the entire dining experience even better. Then there was dessert: Green Tea soufflé and chocolate milk bread pudding! I hope i get a picture of it!!! Service is GREAT! Drinks are filled. Needs are met- and exceeded!!!0 Parking is self parking, but it was worth it. For appetizers, we got the crispy squid and the crispy wonton- crispy squid was good but if you had to choose between the two, get the crispy wonton! As for the entree, I ordered the Khao Soi with shrimp and my friend ordered the spicy red snapper. The curry broth with coconut milk was fragrant and with the toppings that came on the side (i.e. lime, onions/shallots, mustard greens, etc) enhanced the dish. The flat egg noodles were bouncy and the shrimp was solid. If you're stuck between choosing a curry dish and a noodle dish, get the best of both worlds and order the Khao Soi! We tried their appetizers including Salmon Rolls (flavorfully packed with cream cheese, salmon, and spinach in a crispy shell and loving that actually spicy mayo on the side), Thai Style Jerky (deep fried and sun dried marinated pork and beef served with sticky rice rolls and side spicy tamarind sauce, a bit too dry/chewy), Fried Tofu (perfect little triangles, so good by itself or with the side sweet and sour sauce with crushed peanuts), Chive Pancake (deep fried and chive packed triangles with a slight chew to it, great by itself or with it's spicy soy sauce companion). As for the mains, the Spicy Seafood Fried Rice is a good value as it was loaded with all sort of fruits of the sea (shrimp, squid, and mussel), with prominent lemongrass and kaffir lime aroma, but a bit wet or moist for a fried rice dish, the Crabmeat Omelet is served with a nice portion of lump crabmeat where you can taste the flavor of the seafood and add sriracha to liking, and the Beef Pad See Ew is made appetizing with wok charred flat rice noodles along with a savory blend of soy sauce, Chinese broccoli and egg. The portion size is alright and filling for a moderately hungry individual, though it would've been even better a tad bigger for those coming in hangry. I'll be back for more when I'm craving some modern Thai food and especially want to try their curry dishes. Service was quick and efficient, attentive to refills on drinks and friendly!
