Well, it certainly lives up to its name. I got a small iced coffee here and was out of my goddamn mind with energy. Coffee was fine. It didn't blow me away, but it wasn't bad. Atmosphere was kind of nice, although it was a little too generic for my taste. It didn't really have that "cozy" coffee shop feel. I didn't try the food, although it looked good. Not sure if I'll be back, but perhaps the food would have made the rating a little higher. read more

I would say they serves the best muffins in Boston area. Crunchy with brown sugar sprinkles on top. I love all of them except Coffee Cake because I am not a fan of cinnamon. Also the house coffees are great! Owner and most of the staff are friendly. read more

I was so relieved to finally get a coffee shop in our complex that I would have been happy with one that served piping hot buckets of mud. Fortunately for me, they actually have great coffee, and even better sandwiches. Chuck Sandwich, Buffalo Chicken NE Chicken Salad (with the Jamaican Spread - it contains no marijuana) and everything else are pretty darn tasty. Haven't gotten into the gelato yet, but with a few more of these 90+ degree days, I'm sure I will be. This quiet little coffee house cafe is located in a nice new strip center. It's a great place to come and have a working lunch. They play some type of Pandora type radio station that features commercials after every song... so the headphones went in. The food was great. They feature a wide variety of paninis. They are pretty much a full coffee house. The hazelnut iced coffee was delicious. So was the chicken pesto sandwich. They have free wifi, so working while eating is quite manageable. I ordered the Panino sandwich and my boyfriend got the Jitterbug. My sandwich was absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend it. The Jitterbug, on the other hand, wasn't as good. The bf didn't like it very much. In terms of drinks, I ordered a caramel latte, and my boyfriend ordered a regular cafe latte. Both were very watered down and my caramel latte was a bit too sweet for my tastes. If I were to return, definitely won't be ordering those drinks again. Just moved into town and was looking for a local business to be able to grab a bit to eat and have some coffee.. After one stop in I no longer have to look any further. Ordered the sergeant (if you like something with a little kick and full of flavor its a must try). The breakfast sandwich was great and it hit the spot after a good long run through the Middlesex Fells. Follow that up with an iced coffee and you've got it made. Really nice atmosphere, nice menu selection, but very slooooow service. Only one young woman working. Took 15 minutes to get a grilled cheese, and the tomatoes were left off, so instead if having grilled warmed tomatoes, they were cold. Most annoying was that the server seemed apathetic to the service. She really needed help on the floor. Couldn't keep up with the big lines. read more

If the coffee shop is the current day version of the Cheers bar, then my husband and I are the Cliff and Norm of the joint. I *always* feel at home at Jitters, and the owner, Tim, makes us feel like one of the family. He's got a great sense of humor and his cheerful staff is equally friendly. What I love about Jitters is the high quality and consistency of the food they prepare. The egg sandwiches have fresh cracked eggs and generous servings of cheese, sausage, ham, or bacon. The Sergeant Breakfast Sandwich is a customer favorite for a reason - the combination of a croissant, ham, kicky cheese, and mustard is a delight. We also love getting sandwiches, salad, and soups in the afternoon. Their fresh gelato in the summertime? Yum. The coffee offerings are equally strong. Tim and his team prepare a variety of espresso drinks as well as the classic cup o' joe, and they have a number of whimsical flavored syrup specials as well. The coffee is always the right level of hot (or cold, if you're getting an iced beverage), and it's the perfect thing to grab on the go. If I'm running late, I give Jitters a call and they'll have my order and beverage ready to go when I get there. The decor of the restaurant is very lovely. The walls are a the color of warm coffee with a little bit of cream, the artwork is tasteful, the booths and tables are clean, spacious, and comfy, and I love the high ceilings and the warm lighting. Jitters is the perfect place to have an impromptu meeting, and I frequently see groups of people gabbing over a bite and drink. They offer free wi-fi and I believe it's also an Xfinity hotspot. This is my favorite go to coffee and breakfast place. I love to come here every weekend and wind down, and enjoy delicious cup of iced coconut coffee. The vibe here is really chill, and the staff are super nice and friendly. Also everything is reasonably priced. Also if you have a sweet tooth, they got the best housemade warm corn muffin, even better toasted with butter. Truly a hidden gem and must go to if you are in the area. read more

Great food, and even better Coffee. I got the roast beef, which was great and my boyfriend got a bacon egg and cheese. It also has a nice atmosphere and could probably use a couple more tables as it was packed on a Sunday afternoon. The ambience of the cafe is great. Great place for simply drinking coffee or read a book. Lots of places to seat. They have specialty lattes one of my favorite is Snicker. It has chocolate and caramel great combo. It's not too sweet either. They offer breaksfast and lunch meal which are great. Laslty, loyalty card is offered. So happy this opened. Had an amazing tuna melt a few weekends ago - bacon, lemon aioli, tomato... so good. My pals got breakfast sandwiches (highly recommend bacon, egg, cheese and tomato on sourdough - the bread is excellent). They also have Harvey & Sons Tea, which is the best. Went in to grab a coffee and snack. Two staff directly in front of me, facing me at counter prepping something. Another staff member working with back to me. Staff looks at me and looks down again. No greeting or acknowledgement of any kind. I stand there a couple minutes. Nothing. I turn and walk out. Nothing. They have never been very friendly or customer-service oriented, but that was ridiculous - and the last time I will bother trying to support this local business. read more

Jitters is my absolute favorite coffee shop. Since I live close by, I spent hours upon hours in here finishing up my graduate school research during the afternoons. It's also a place my mom and I love to drop into. The atmosphere is warm, the music never too loud, and the service is quick and friendly. Plus, they have a rewards card! I firmly believe that Jitters makes the best latte and brownies around. I literally call their brownies the 'crack brownies' because they're addicting- so fudgy and so chocolatey. Aside from my regular latte & brownie order, they have so much more to offer. I've tried many of their sandwiches- from the Jitterbug, roast beef, grilled cheese, the breakfast sandwiches with a nice hunk of thick bacon. Cookies and muffins. Consistency. Consistency. Really good selection of lattes. Tried the white choc hazelnut one and it was delicious. Their cup sizes are more on the generous side so you can get a small size and that should be fine. This place is like a hidden gem. The only downside is not much parking space. read more

Walking through the door we were relieved by how visually appealing this restaurant looked. We have gone to many a small restauraunt and have walked right back out the door after discovering how dirty they were. Comfortable seating and calm colors abound. The menu board was written in chalk and a little to small to read, so we were given paper menus by the owner behind the counter. We ordered sandwiches and found our seats in the otherwise empty seating area. We wondered why the place was empty and as we contemplated, people slowly trickled in. We decided it was most likely the time of our visit. We sat and chatted waiting for our sandwiches and watched the owner carrying coffee to tables and interacting with what we assumed were regular guests. When our sandwiches were ready, we were not disappointed. The jitterbug: well toasted on a press, the combination of the turkey, sun dried tomato Aoli, and bacon was delightful. The only issue was the flavor was almost completely hidden by the harsh pepperjack cheese. The apple had a nice crunch to it but I feel didn't really add anything to the sandwich. There was not even a hint of sweet and honestly I felt it needed it. overall the sandwich was a little too dry. Even all said, I enjoyed it. My friend got the same, and enjoyed it as well agreeing that the sandwich was dry and was missing something. Overall we had a great experience, and will be back to try the other Jitters Cafe twists on sandwich combinations. Definitely a place to stop in on your way through Malden. read more

It was troublesome that presumably the manager ( he was the oldest staff in the place) was the only one not wearing a mask correctly. Mask slung halfway between his mouth/chin. Kinda dumb business move during a plague. Given that we recently moved to the hood and both have serious caffeine addictions, it's a shame that we won't be coming back. read more

In recent years, Melrose has thankfully seen a blossoming of independent coffee places. In my view, what many of these new cafés have lacked is space! Jitters however has space, lots of it. I read some negative comments from other customers and decided to share my thoughts, because I really like to shop. 1. In general, I have been having a very positive experience, from the drink, food, service, environment etc. 2. I live in walking distance for the past 2 year and have been visiting them all the time. Sometime, I will work from the shop. The staff are extremely nice, even I ordered one coffee for the entire day and focusing on my work 3. I can't count how many free coffee/food i got from their loyalty program - general rule: the 10th order is free 4. Plenty parking in the front/back 5. Now they have cold brew and gelato, love it Improvement area: could have more power for people like me In addition, the concept of local cafe is different from Dunkin Donut / Starbucks chain. The chain focus on speed and try to serve as many customers as possible. Jitter provides a better experience in general. There have been a few times, there is a bit wait, but majority of the time, they are good at speed. read more

Hooray for Jitters! This great alternative to the Starbucks on the other side of town has been such a welcome addition to Melrose. It is big, comfortable, quiet, the baristas and owners don't yell and cackle (like they do at the aforementioned Starbucks) and they make a great sandwich. The owner is lovely and humble about making such a big slash in our humble community. read more
