Very relaxing atmosphere. They have great sandwiches and strong coffee! Definitely a local gem that you should try out if you live in melrose. read more

Hit or miss. Last time I got a Dirty Chai it tasted like butterscotch milk. The service and atmosphere are Great. I'm not a fan of the sandwiches, they are Very dry unless your getting a sausage sandwich. Good music. Has ample seating Inside and out, as well as couches which I think are a must in a good café. read more

It used to be good. Then it got popular and some of the staff have attitudes (perhaps it is linked). They made the wrong order. When I went to return it, the cook said "But they accepted the order" (Which was true, but then we actually saw what was on the plates). The cashier then brusquely asked me "Do you want it or not" and made a face, which was funny, given that they made the mistake. The food is OK. read more

As I previously mentioned, I live at the Windsor appartments, so I went to try it out my first day of living in the complex. Needless to say, it blew every other coffee shop out of the water, the food, coffee, atmosphere everything is fantastic. Tim, the owner, knows my order by heart and is always nice and never fake. If you're on the run and need a coffee and a quick bite there is no better place than Jitters! read more

Decided to give this shop a try since I was passing by. Very clean, quiet, and staff was friendly, however, it is a bit on the pricey side. A panini with 3 lonesome pickle slices and an apple juice for 10.65? Yikes! Just about all coffee shops that do paninis at least throw in chips.. Not too sure if I will be returning. read more

I love this place! Awesome coffee, fresh muffins, savory paninis, and fantastic breakfast (served all day- btw)! Plus, the owner is always there and working hard to make sure your happy with your meal. He's a cool guy to sit and talk with when its slow, plus he gives all his customers free wifi (holla)!!! I had the Sargent breakfast sandwich, which was phenomenal! I've also had the chicken pesto sandwich, and if it's in, you should try the chicken white bean chili/soup. I'm all about supporting local business, and it's worth it to watch this guy rock his coffee shop! read more

Jitters is a little bit of a walk from my apartment - about 30 minutes one way - but I'm so glad I took the time to check it out. The shop feels friendly and cozy, if a bit lacking in personality - there's art/decorations on the wall but nothing very stand out. It was lit softly (which was nice) and a really comfortable temperature for this time of year; heat was definitely on but I didn't feel like I was sweltering ordering a hot drink. It was pretty quiet when me and my husband got there. We waited in line for maybe a minute, tops, which gave us just enough time decide what we wanted. He got the hot apple cider, I opted for a pumpkin latte. We took a seat while our drinks were being made (they warned us it would take a few minutes, which is fine. a latte takes some time to put together!), and then they actually brought the drinks out to our table instead of just calling them out from the counter, which was a very nice touch. The pumpkin latte was seriously the BEST pumpkin latte I've ever had. I think it's more accurate to call it a pumpkin pie latte than a pumpkin spice. It had a really lovely spiciness just like a pumpkin pie, not too sweet the way Starbucks does it. We didn't try the food this trip out but I could smell other orders being cooked, and it the smell is indicative of the taste then the food should be incredible as well. We will definitely be back! read more

Awesome coffee, great vibe, only shame is that it's in Melrose and not Malden!

This is a fantastic café. The other day my husband and I dropped by for a quick lunch and coffee. We both ordered The Panino with prosciutto which was delicious. The sandwiches are a bit pricey given their size but still very good. We also ordered some iced coffees to go along with it. After the meal we went with a red velvet muffin which was fresh out of the oven and was quite possibly the best muffin I've ever had. The ambiance of Jitters was great as well, with a couple couches, lots of flowers and was generally a very pleasant place to have lunch. I definitely recommend and can't wait to go back and try their other paninis and desserts read more

The coffee is great and the staff is very friendly. Their hazelnut coffee is probably the best I've ever had. They have a great selection of sandwiches and cafe foods. My only complaint is they are a little slow. I've gone on a few different occasions and each time it took either a couple minutes to take our order or upwards of 5-10 minutes to actually get our coffee. Definitely recommend it though because their coffee is so good. read more

How is this place still open? I've gone twice and never again. I waited 25 minutes for what I thought was chicken salad but instead received a mixed green salad with grilled chicken. The chicken was inedible. Like some by product of chicken. The salad had wilted olives in it and brown carrots. Oh and no fork and knife for your take out order. What a joke. read more

This place was great and super cute!! I had the BLAT and it was tasty! If I'm ever in the area I will for sure go back! Also, the coffee was amazing, I had a specialty latte called the snicker and it was delicious :) read more

Stopped by here for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. I got a latte that was not great at all. My boyfriend got a double espresso shot which was bitter and burnt tasting. It took over 20 minutes for my chicken caesar to be prepared. Grilling chicken, putting it on top of lettuce with crutons, no cheese, doesn't take 20 minutes to make. On top of all that it cost $17. Totally not worth it. read more

I never trust a place that doesn't sell whole bean coffee but the gelato was decent and place was clean .

This place is incredibly slow. It took them 35 minutes to make two breakfast sandwiches. That's ridiculous.

Groupon has led me to yet another awesome place I would have never heard of otherwise! My boyfriend bought this groupon a while back and we just used it yesterday as it was about to expire and we will certianly be back. This cute little cafe boasts delicious paninis, soup, salad and drinks. Both of the boys got the jitterbug panini and loved it. The sundried tomato aioli was delcious. I had the chicken salad which was really good, not too much mayo at all and the soup of the day which was tomato and veggie. Since I've been on the paleo diet it has been really hard to eat out but having the option of gluten free/dairy free soup made me really happy. To top it all off we got an Iced Coconut Mocha (made with Almond Milk!) and that alone was worth the 10 minute drive from my house in Medford. Bravo to Jitters! I will be back read more

Good panini's, I got the Italian and you could tell the meat was fresh.

Been coming here since moving to Melrose 15 months ago. Service and food has always been on par. Cheers!

Went to Jitters for a coffee and ended up ordering a breakfast sandwich too because they all looked so delish! Coffee was nice and strong and the sandwich was hot and fresh and made to order. Atmosphere was warm with some big couches and tables to hang at, and its very clean- Thats a total plus in my book! Loved the upscale sandwich offerings- all with different condiments, aiolis and ingredients- love me some arugula on a sandwich! I totally recommend it - a more personal experience, with everything fresh and made to order. Its so nice to be able to support a local business, and I will definitely be returning! read more

Everything is terrific every time. Coffee muffins and sandwiches all way above par - especially in Melrose where there really is nothing even close in terms of quality and experience read more

This was my first time at Jitters Cafe, and loved it. Upon walking in . . Open and airy with comfy booths , tables and a couch etc. I got the cheesiest grilled cheese panini and it was the BOMB!!! Delicious cheesy goodness with 3+ kinds of cheese , tomato and Bacon!!!! I will be back to try another from their great panini menu read more

I'm here a few days a week and find their coffee much better than other local shops in the area. Excellent breakfast sandwiches and muffins.

This place has wonderful decor, nice atmosphere, very comfortable. When you walk over to the counter to order all the display cases look empty, the one on the left is completely empty. Why have them if your not going to put anything in them. Then you look up at the menu boards Behind the counter and you can't read them. I've been there twice and the sandwiches are average at best. How they stay in business is beyond me. This could be a great place if more care was taken with the display cases and the sandwiches weren't so stingy. And you could actually read the Menu Board. read more

Come every week for breakfast. Look forward to it every week!! Amazing breakfast sandwiches. I suggest the berry croissant with fluff and Nutella if you're in the mood for something sweet. Cant recommend this place enough read more

I come here all the time since it's so close to my apartment. The interior of the shop is very comfortable, the breakfast sandwiches are awesome, and the coffee is great. The lattes DO NOT taste like disappointment (looking at you Matt B). The sandwiches do take some time to be made but that's only because they make every sandwich fresh. The food is definitely worth the wait! read more

Great coffee. I especially like their muffins! Nice atmosphere. I usually spend a weekend afternoon here. Lots of space to pull up a laptop or just read. read more

Nice place overall. It was very clean and organized. Food was good but the menu was very limited. The staff was decent and helpful. We made the mistake of sitting next to the door and it was very cold out so whenever someone came in our out, the gust of wind was blowing stuff off our table and it was cold in the restaurant. It was very conveniet to a photography class we were taking up the street. We'll likley go back when we take more classes in the area. read more

I come here to get coffee and to impress my friends with how delicious the coffee is.

My husband and I grabbed a quick lunch and coffee on a Saturday and it was delicious! They suggested the chicken salad, which I ordered, and my husband ordered the jitterbug panini. We switched halves and ate one of each...both very delicious. The coffee is good and well priced. We will be returning without a doubt. read more

Decent food. Decent coffee. Three stars because it's EXTREMELY slow service. I literally waited 25 minutes for an egg sandwich. It was not even busy. read more

Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Their black coffee and espresso is the best in the area! Sergeant (ham, egg & cheese croissant) with a side of mustard aioli & Nitro (oxygen less, cold brew coffee). Nitro is poured in a chilled Pinot Noir shaped glass. Sergeant and Nitro are out of this world pairing. read more

Jitters cafe is a cute little place with great coffee and fantastic food! I would give them 5 stars if a small child, who I believe belongs to the owner or one of the employees, wasn't running around screaming. read more

YUM! This place is delicious! I've been a few times- for both breakfast and lunch- and I've never been disappointed. Everything is super fresh and delicious. The portions are a great size too. Last time I went I had a breakfast sandwich (the Sargent I think?) with egg, cheese, bacon and honey mustard on a croissant. AMAZING. I would have never thought to put honey mustard on a breakfast sandwich... genius. Also their coffee is super good- one of my favorite places outside of Boston. Do yourself a favor and go to Jitters. It won't disappoint! read more

Clearly a newly opened place, I live about 1/2 mile from this place so we decided to try it. My boyfriend and I got there on a Saturday morning around 8 or 9 am and had about 2 or 3 customers in front of us. There was only 1 guy working, and he was working hard, but having trouble keeping up with the crowd. I felt bad for him, he had so many orders to take care of by himself on a weekend morning, but despite how busy it was, we got all of our order in a pretty itmely manner, it was still hot and it was delicious! I got "the sergeant' breakfast sandwich, which Ham, egg, & pepper jack cheese with honey dijon mustard on croissant. It was amazing! the croissant was flaky and toasted, there was tons of ingredients on the sandwich itself and it was an awesome breakfast. I also got a medium iced caramel mocha latte, which was delicious. My boyfriend got the Berry Croissant (Melted marshmellow and chocolate topped with strawberries), which was also very tasty and came out in a timely manner (and the guy working even brought it to our table!) despite the place being mobbed! We went back the next day for coffee, and the iced mint mocha latte was also not a disapointment. This day, the same guy was working but had help, and it was very busy. I hope this shop does well, it's in a great spot, the coffee and breakfast sandwiches were great, as were the small baked goods they are selling (we got the PB chocolate hullabaloo and the key lime square). I will definitely be back. read more

New dish @ Jitters - Buffalo Mac n Cheese w/ shredded chicken topped with a bread crumb mix... Easily could've have split the portion with someone. A must try for anyone that likes mac n cheese or anything buffalo. Real tasty! read more

Have you ever had an experience where you love the food, but are disappointed with the service. That is how I feel about Jitters. I had gone in just about every weekend for a couple months when they first opened as I Iive close by and as I mentioned, the food is great. The girls were all friendly as well, it just always seemed that the owner was very brisk. Since I always went in early I didn't think much of it at first until I started going in later in the morning and noticed how friendly he seemed to be with everyone else. Since I didn't know him from anywhere other than then going into the Cafe, I was at a loss, until I saw him treat one another customer that way - another woman who happened to be plus size like myself. I tried to give things the benefit of the doubt and tried a few more times, but got the same feeling each time - I watched him interact warmly and hospitally with everyother customer, yet always felt brushed off when I had to deal with him directly. I hadn't gone into the cafe for about 3 months when I recently tried again, and recieved the same response. He just about threw my basket on the table from 2 feet away when rearranged things on another customers table before placing her cup down and stopping to speak with the patrons at another. Needless to say, regardless of how good their food is, I won't be going back their again. read more

I've been coming to Jitters on and off for a while and it just keeps getting better and better--to the point where I now feel confident giving a 5-star review. The staff is consistently friendly and professional, and the food is beyond affordable and high quality. The sergeant is the perfect breakfast sandwich, and at $4 puts options found at chain restaurants to shame. Close to Pine Banks, I hope parents know to grab coffees here during fall sports season. The perfect local alternative for your everyday caffeine/snack fix. Go try this place now. read more

My wife and I just had breakfast at a a cafe in Melrose on Main St. We were treated to a great breakfast (my wife is particularly fussy and was amazed that her breakfast arrived with all her requests accurately addressed. My ham and cheese breakfast snadwich was good as well. The servers were pleasant and efficient. Thank you Jim and Sierra. You have to try the cold brewed coffee. It's flavorful; a nice surprise.
