Let's start with the great... Location is easy to find. 30 minutes from my home, but people online love it, so we took the drive. No wait. Seated right away on a Saturday morning and we were seated where we wanted for college football viewing purposes. Capacity was at about a third of the restaurant. Friendly staff. Everyone we encountered was nice and wanted to be helpful. We had the Sara(h)s...one was training the other and they were very kind. It is so clean inside. I felt like the staff had been well trained in front of house upkeep which was really nice. The acai bowl and seasonal pistachio iced latte had great flavors. But... Hot coffee and iced latte came out about ten minutes apart. This is a pet peeve of my husband's. He doesn't want to receive and start to enjoy his food and drinks until I receive mine. I was also raised that you don't start at the table until everyone has everything, so this was not the best start. (I know that's not how it always works out, but a couple minutes and good communication can make this a reality most of the time.) The avocado toast came out with the cream of chicken and rice soup. The soup is not a cream based soup. It's a very thin, mostly clear broth with some form of dairy added, but never would it be considered a "cream of" soup. It did not deliver and unfortunately we sent it back. The toast was a plain bagel (as the option requested), but if that bagel hit a toaster on the way out, there was no indication once it hit the plate. Room temperature without any color on it whatsoever. The avocado spread had a little seasoning so that made it a little less underwhelming. Those items arrived together which were both for my husband and when we asked about my food, we learned it was being dressed at the coffee station. Our kind server came by and told us it was almost ready two more times (it was an açaí bowl). I asked about my extra crispy bacon and was told they would check on it. The açaí bowl eventually arrived and it was well thought out and very flavorful. But no bacon and my husband was done eating by now. So I asked for containers and the bacon in a to-go container. The bacon had obviously been rushed and was undercooked with white fat clearly still visible. Our server said the manager took off the bacon and the soup, but never bothered to stop by and say anything. That was a service fail in my eyes. It wasn't really about the money. It was about what appeared to be training issues in FOH, BOH and coordination across the board. $30 plus $12 tip, we had two coffees, a small açaí bowl, avocado on a bagel (not toasted) and undercooked bacon. Not on the repeat list at this point in time. I imagine if people are honest about the areas of improvement, this business could thrive. The full bar, fun coffee drinks, biscuits that LOOK amazing, location and sweet staff could make this work. I hope they do. read more

They've only been open for a few weeks, and I think that they are off to a great start. From their coffee flights to their acai bowls, definitely a great concept. Let me first start by telling you that I was very impressed with their menu. I really went there for the chilaquiles, and they were delicious.. The tortillas were perfect And obviously the key to chilaquilas is the sauce and it was also perfect .. I will definitely be going back....I then ordered the House made biscuit and chicken... A little critiquing. Just my opinion. I did order a side of sausage gravy, I believe that it needed a little more flavor was a little bland.. But the biscuit was excellent and being that it was one of the top specials, I would have preferred fresh chicken tenders....... I did like the cube seasoned potatoes... I have to say when I'm searching online for a breakfast place. I'm honestly looking for a place that has fresh hash browns... I know it's hard labor and sometimes not consistent as opposed to the Frozen but you just can't beat fresh hash browns, especially when all you do is breakfast..... Just my opinion... I also threw in a lunch item which was the crispy chicken salad made into a wrap...... Was also good. Not a fan of the ranch dressing though... But honestly they do breakfast. It's nice that they carry lunch items but I did like their french fries...... I like that they have a mix menu .. from huevos rancheros to biscuits and gravy.... I saw on their website their avocado toast.. which I may try next time.. So overall it was a good breakfast.. I think the owners did a great job. I hope you don't mind a little constructive criticism. The place was beautifully designed... I love the simplicity and the beauty of the menu.... Now for the service I chose to go in there at 1:00 when it was a little bit more slower.. I read the reviews. They were a little hard on the employees unfortunately. Customers don't understand that when opening up a new place it takes a little time for the employees and the employers to learn to work together You have a kitchen staff working with new menus. It just takes a little time to get all the kinks out so give them a chance.. hopefully your first day wasn't on the weekend, better to have open up during the week having a soft opening. Unfortunately, you only have one chance to make a good impression in some customers'eyes ... We were greeted by the host or maybe she was a server. I had the pleasures of being served by Ali . He seemed a little nervous but honestly did a wonderful job.. It seems like a nice crew, I hope this place does well... Oh one more thing I know. I'm sorry... The water. Ugh. I live in Lockport and there's no way of drinking the water, I guess Crest Hill has the same problem ... assuming the table water is tap. You may want to use the Coke machine water. A small group of us (4) went to Jitterhead on Sunday at 11 am. It was not busy and we had a chance to sit outside with the nice weather. The hostess and waitress were friendly. Once we placed our meal choices, it took arpund 45 minutes to get the food. For the location not being extremely busy, we could not understand why it took so long. We order Buffalo chicken and Chicken Jalapeño sandwich, your simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, potatoes, and toast, and some kind of beef bowl woth mushrooms. While the sandwich was good, the others lacked some flavor, but nothing a little "hot" sauce couldn't fix. read more

We have heard so many awesome things about this place from so many people, so we finally made it out to visit and LOVED it just the same! The place is beautiful, atmosphere bright, clean and welcoming, beautiful art, excellent service and the food and coffee was freaking delicious! Usually, going to a breakfast place in the past, we would expect the same types of food as everywhere else. This place, though, actually has creative dishes packed with FLAVOR as well as basics but also super yummy. I was very impressed by the food and the fact that it came out nice and HOT. Our server kept our coffees filled, water jugs on the table, he checked on us and made sure we were taken care of and everyone was very happy with their meals. We loved it so much we ended up going back the next day to bring more family! :) The lattes are excellent and even the decaf coffee tasted great. Finally a restaurant that brings back dining as an enjoyable experience. I noticed they have a private room in the back, too... for parties, definitely taking note of that for future. Outdoor patio was closed but I imagine it's great in the summer. All in all, we highly recommend this place and cannot wait to go back. I think others enjoyed it too as the parking lot was packed and tables filled, not sure if they accept reservations but might be worth calling ahead of time if you do go. We were able to be seated quickly but it did fill up. Seems like this is a new destination spot! Definitely our new favorite place. Highly recommend the biscuits and gravy and the chorizo bowl...we also loved the chocolate chip pancakes, the Sunday Morning plate and lattes. Dropped in on a Friday afternoon. Impressed by the wide variety on the menu, couldn't decide on a coffee! In the end, I went with a latte (YUM) and husband had a beer. Next time I want to try the Dragon of the West (spiked jasmine tea)! We've been to this building a lot over the years, when its been several different bars, even a burger joint. This is the cleanest I've seen it! Jazz music, Portlandia on the TVs, fresh wallpaper and floating shelves. It looks like a nice coffee spot now! Service was nice. I'm giving this place 3 starts based on the service - we were a table of 5, the only 5 in restaurant and the service was subpar. We all ordered coffee and she barely came back to table for refills and we had to call her to get check. This was disappointing as I would expect better service when you only have one table to wait on ‍. Now onto the food and coffee; my friend got the coffee flight of s'mores and it was very good, we each took some sips as she was kind enough to share . Even the regular coffee was good and fresh, we were there at 730a . The cottage cheese bowl was ordered by 3 of us , then a breakfast charcuterie and a personalized bowl. Everyone enjoyed their food, it all was flavored well and good serving size . The restaurant itself is cute inside , large space for larger groups and what seemed to be an area for a breakfast event . This place has a chance, but they have to get their staff to be more attentive, especially when the restaurant is empty and time is available to server. Walked in on Sunday morning at 9 AM and seated right away. Love what they've done with the place. Our server Austin (awesome guy) got us going with drinks straight away and got them to us without delay. I have to add in that the girl that was serving the table behind us was absolutely amazing with the little one and the family she was helping. Ordered a coffee flight (definitely get the coffee flight if you like flavored coffee) and enjoyed it. Fresh actual squeezed orange juice for my better half she enjoyed. Ordered Takeout and our expectations were exceeded. The Acai Berry Bowl was fresh and delicious The Chorizo Bowl was perfectly prepared with a notable attention to detail. Best breakfast potatoes ever! The Apple Cinnamon French Toast was excellent. The online ordering experience through the toast platform was easy to customize items and notably included a place to enter food allergies. Wow! I have been 3 times now, and everything I've had was awesome. Sweet cheese french toast, Fried chicken salad, latte flight, huevos rancheros, and DO NOT sleep on the chorizo breakfast bowl, the white queso is to die for! Service has been great. Some still learning but very nice and attentive and thats all I need! Atmosphere is bright and comfortable, we've always been greeted with a smile, pricing is very fair and will definitely be a regular spot of ours. This place is sensational! We started with the breakfast beignets which were warm, flaky, and delicious. I built my own potato bowl and WOW was it so so good. Fiancé got the country fried steak and he has being raving about it. We each got two of the specialty lattes and they were so good!! To start off the service was kinda slow and took a long time. It should have been faster. Since there was not that much people. The food was good but they messed up all my familys order. My friends and I were very excited to try Jitterhead out, but sadly were repeatedly disappointed. We were sat at our table and not greeted by our server for 15 minutes, and the place was not busy. However, two of us are servers as well so we tried giving as much grace as we could. The food came out & we were not set up with silverware, asked for water after 25 minutes of no attention, & one of the dishes was the wrong order-but nonetheless our server corrected it & we were set.
